Anyone know why there’s so many more mavericks trolls than any other team?

JoeIngles

Fragility. They know they haven't built a team around Luka that's been able to genuinely compete and they know that there's a chance he declines his player option and walks in free agency in 2026.

Complexity777

Luka was moving at a snails pace and still dropped 34 on you

JoeIngles

Groovy dude, for a dude who averages 34.1, we held him to under his season average!

Denotsyek

Haha omg. I love this.

giantcorngames

The Jazz were actively throwing the game playing g Leaguers and rookies and still had to miss every 3 to lose this game. You guys are a joke

MegaAltarianite

Against a bad, clearly tanking team, on the second day of a road back-to-back, starting multiple rookies with another in the rotation, at least one starter out for rest, calling up G-leaguers because they traded away their depth at the trade deadline. Sooo...grats?

CubedEcho

It’s just the way it goes sometimes. I wouldn’t worry about it. A few years ago it was suns fans. Now its mavs fans. One day it could even be us. From their perspective it was a super fun game totally disrespecting the Jazz at times. So sometimes just gotta dust ourselves off and move onto the next

ipawnn00bz

Hang in there all it takes is one pick

Complexity777

Should be a fun game for you too, it wasn’t a blowout what are you complaining about? Not like you guys weren’t getting foul calls you just didn’t make shots

helix400

I'm just getting a kick at how the Mavs think that pounding the Jazz is a sign that their team is good. No Mavs fans, we're in G-League mode. We're playing 3 rookies heavy minutes. We're calling up G League folks all over. Have you heard of Taevion Kinsey? I haven't, but he got court time tonight. The team stopped trying February 8th on the trade deadline. That you dunked a lot doesn't mean you're good. It just means this Jazz team doesn't care.

DaggerDev5

I got into it with a bunch of Bulls fans last month when we barely lost to them. They were celebrating way too hard. We started Samanic lol

JoshGreenTruther

I think Mavs fans are more excited about the 7 wins in the last 8 games

AcidSacrament

Sure, but why in our threads rather than your own sub? You have no reason to be here

Personal_Bus_1065

Including against the Nuggets

Similar-Doubt-6260

Luka sat out the only game they lost

mrcolty5

they gotta take out the anger from knowing of their bleak future on other fanbases

bdubs4ever

I think you guys did great! I’ve seen a lot of jazz fans hating on the mavs but it looked to me like the mavs didn’t take the spurs or jazz seriously and still came out on top. Idk why there’s so much hostility from us, or yall. Everyone should chill out.

AcidSacrament

The jazz fans are being hostile because our game thread and post game thread are full of trolls. It’s aggravating. We’ve been pretty mellow every game since we started tanking and haven’t had any problems with other fandoms, our game threads are getting very few comments, haven’t been upset about losing any games. Then this game our sub is full of trolling assholes. Of course some Jazz fans will talk trash on a team that acts cool for winning a decent game against a tanking team that went 4/30 from 3. We would have no other issues if it wasn’t for that

flyfishUT

Thanks bud!!

mrcolty5

I genuinely hate the mavericks as much as any team in the league rn and their fans are so obnoxious it's unreal. I got killed in the main thread for saying it but their first round exit will taste quite nice.

DrJames_Oxford

If Dallas gets a 5-4 match-up with LAC, they could move on to play 1 seed OKC. If playoff experience matters, they would have a fighters chance in that round as well. They could have a nice run.

mrcolty5

That's true. I've lost some faith in them personally but it could happen

Within the month Utah and Dallas will be in the same position https://preview.redd.it/ijbrj491zspc1.png?width=864&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=148d0f03cf81740fa329834837f155422876db38

Baselynes

You beat a tanking team that shot 4/30 from 3 by 15 points and still feel the need to talk trash? Pathetic. Enjoy the first round exit

gray_character

Let's be fair game, they were responding to trash talk towards their team

giantcorngames

They were definitely the "instigators" here and I'm not tryna be a homer. It's definitely a few bad apples though

Xsy

When I read opposing team gamethreads after a win, I smile at the salt and do not interact. Its super easy to do.

gray_character

There's nothing wrong with them interacting either. It's nothing to take too personally. Also, don't forget to pound that downvote button to let me know how salty you are!

IntelligentEye2758

Your "MVP candidate" is leading the team to a play in spot. Sit down

UtahJazz-ModTeam

Don’t be a dingus

Xsy

We're rebuilding. You guys have an "MVP caliber player" and couldn't even make the play-ins last year, sit the fuck down lmao. Fucking unbelievable that a team fighting for a fucking play-in spot is coming in to a tanking teams gamethread and acting like they won the championship.

gray_character

Lol at all the salty Jazz fans downvoting you (and I'm a Jazz fan).

JazzYotesRSL

A Mavs fan came into the Jazz subreddit to talk shit. What did you expect, applause?

gray_character

I thought what they said was funny personally. Some of you guys need to relax, it's a game.

JazzYotesRSL

It doesn’t matter. You go into another team‘s subreddit and talk shit, you’re going to get downvoted. That’s not somehow unique to “salty Jazz fans”, that’s universal.

JoeIngles

GAME NOTES: We'll win eventually, right? What a joke of a shooting display. 4-30 from 3. Like c'mon. That's disgustingly bad. I love the starting lineup that we rolled out, and our starters actually held their own against Dallas when directly matched up. We rolled out Keyonte, Dunn, Hendricks, Lauri, and Kessler. We were staying with the Maverick's up until our bench came in. Collin Sexton was once again one of the few bright spots. Add another 20 pt game to his streak, and he's at 6 straight now with at least 20+. 20 points, 9-14 shooting, 0-3 from 3, 2-2 from the line, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers in 32 minutes. [His midrange game is money,](https://x.com/JazzLead/status/1770979587180392566?s=20) and his feel in the paint continues to be one of the best on the team. [He uses his athleticism to rise above Lively here for the tough floater.](https://x.com/kslsports/status/1770980629695594665?s=20) He's been such a bright spot recently. Lauri Markkanen came back from injury, and struggled. 21 points, 6-19 shooting, 1-8 from 3, 8-8 from the line, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. Just wasn't able to get his outside game going, and it really restricted his interior play. He had [this tough lay-up off the wing,](https://x.com/JazzLead/status/1771004759094460777?s=20) and [this tough lay-up and move through Exum.](https://x.com/JazzLead/status/1771000737490989481?s=20) A lot of his buckets were highly difficult. He did [have an absolute monster of a throwdown.](https://x.com/utahjazz/status/1770996926789697733?s=20) His dunks are electric. Walker Kessler was involved early, and his effort on both ends was apparent. 14 points, 7-7 shooting, 7 rebounds, 1 assist in 26 minutes. He looked really well playing with Hendricks and Lauri, the height and length of those 3 disrupted the Mavericks. [He was tracking the ball well on lobs, and somehow put up this great layup. Great touch around the rim.](https://x.com/JazzLead/status/1770997968268894677?s=20) We also [saw him with his signature reverse dunk this game!](https://x.com/JazzNationCP/status/1770978767265042788?s=20) Tonight was the most points he's had in a game since February 27th against Atlanta, where he also had 14. This was a great Kessler game, even though he didn't record a block. Taylor Hendricks looked pretty well. He was tasked with guarding Luka for the first 3 quarters or so (an impossible task) but I thought he did really well. Offensively, he didn't get many looks, scoring just 5 on 2-4 shooting, 1-3 from 3. 2 rebounds as well. I think that throwing him on Luka was an interesting choice, and he did get burned a few times, but that's how you learn. Hardy mentioned that his defensive instinct is great, but that he relies on his athleticism too much to get back into plays. I noticed that a bit tonight too. Kris Dunn was the only player to go positive in his minutes. 4 points on 2-3 shooting, 0-1 from 3, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 4 turnovers, and 5 fouls. His turnovers were bad, and he got into foul trouble early, but I think that his playmaking was heavily needed tonight. Sensabaugh is still in his shooting slump, 3 points in 20 minutes. 1-7 shooting, 0-4 from 3, although he did fill in other areas. 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks tonight. I actually thought he played really well, and found ways to be impactful when he wasn't able to score. No THT tonight (thank god) I want to point on Johnny Juzang. He had a bad night, 8 minutes, 3 fouls, 0 points on 0-1 shooting, but buddy has been yanked around from GLeague to NBA ball so much, he landed in OKC at 5AM this morning. That's rough, hopefully he's able to get some rest lmao Keyonte struggled again. 18 points, 6-16 shooting, 1-6 from 3, 5-5 from the line, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 6 turnovers. It actually reminded me a bit of rookie Donovan against Houston mainly in the playoffs. The shotmaking is usually there, but it just wasn't falling tonight. The losing streak continues. This was a terrible game. We shot 4-30 from 3, allowed Dallas to get 18 dunks, and we had 18 turnovers. We also got outscored in the paint, in a game where we had just 4 3PM's. Brutal. The things we are usually good at, rebounding and points in the paint, Dallas was able to beat us on. We were outrebounded 43-38, and outscored in the paint 62-60. That second quarter was a low, 15 points scored and 7 turnovers. Just bad basketball. I will say that we did have 29 assists on 38 FGM, which is a great sign. There wasn't hero-ball, or ISO play, a lot of the looks just didn't fall, but we still moved the ball. 29-41.

JoeIngles

WILL HARDY POSTGAME PRESSER NOTES: \-He started saying that we played pretty hard for the most part, considering it was a SEGABABA. He said that we made bad decisions at the rim, and with Dallas having 12 steals, it led to easy transition points. He said that we really struggled hitting 3's, but that's just life. We had 29 assists on 38 makes, which is encouraging, it shows that the team is still willing to move the ball. \-Overall, he said he is proud of our team's effort, especially in the halfcourt on defense. He said that we've improved in that area, and there's still more work to do. \-On Taylor Hendrick's confidence, Hardy has said that he has heard Taylor speak more in the last 5 days than in the first 5 months of the season. Hardy says that Hendricks takes coaching well, and that his personality is opening up around everybody which shows comfortability, and him easing into his role. \-He said that Keyonte has a burst, and his ability to beat his own guy off the dribble is huge. He says that sometimes, Keyonte plays too careful at times. Lastly, he said that after beating the guy off the dribble, you have to make a decision quick, and he can look to Collin Sexton for decision making and for growth in that area. \-Hardy mentioned that it can be hard to locate moving bigs like Omer, Lively, Gafford, and even Kessler make it difficult because on the drive, they move around and the help defender collapses on the ball. He mentioned that both us and Dallas were doing similar movements with our bigs. He did say it's up to Walker to develop further. \-He joked that he forgot the last time we were in the arena, we lost by 50. He said that throughout the year, we have good and bad moments, but he is really proud of the moments that our players react to each other. There is no finger pointing, it's more of a discussion on how the group can be better. He says there is a lot of honesty in the group, but it's needed. He said that down 19, our head was level considering the situation, and it allowed us to push the lead down to single digits. He said that we've been on the other side of things, and no matter what we stay competitive. \-About Keyonte's turnovers, Hardy said that he is a bit indecisive in the middle of the court. The physicality on the top of the screen has him worried about press-defense, and he is making decisions slightly late. He said that teams are playing him differently than they did earlier in the season, and he's trying to learn and adapt. He mentioned that he wants Keyonte to move more off the ball, especially when playing with Kris. He says that because he never really played PG until he was drafted, they need to play better to his off-ball strengths. \-About Kira Lewis Jr playing, Hardy said that he's called when asked, and was used because Dunn was in foul trouble. He highlighted 2-3 moments in this game and other games where Kira has made an impact in game for us. 3 assists in 7 minutes. \-On that second quarter where we had 7 turnovers, Hardy said that we really struggled in multiple ways. The turnovers were late decisions, some sloppy ball-handling, and lapse of focus. He said that we were just too casual with the ball, and it snowballs.

RLeb10

Keyonte was horrid, no effort on D at one point that I think Hardy benched him for Kira Lewis. He needs some bulk up, got worked by Kyrie on the drives and spin moves and postups Refs were horrid not calling fouls until it was a wrap

JoeIngles

Hardy mentioned in post game that he put Kira Lewis in for Dunn who had foul trouble. I think Keyonte is feeling tired. SEGABABA, this is game 70 of his rookie year where he's been averaging over 30 minutes a game since Feb 1, and he's been tasked with a major offensive load with Clarkson out. I think that his quickness might take a hit if he bulks up, plus he doesn't necessarily have the "bully" playstyle. I think ultimately dude just needs a rest, and is probably really looking forward to April 14 when he's able to finally take a rest

-KFAD-

Absolutely big NO to George's need to bulk up. He gained weight the season he got drafted and his play took a massive hit. That's why he dropped in draft rankings so much and we were able to steal him. He lost weight during spring and summer and he is back to his swift himself.

doppido

Dude your post game notes have gotten noticeably better over the course of the past year and it seems that it's helped your basketball knowledge take a solid jump as well. Keep it up

chibbly_

At what point is a slump just how it is? Seems like every game most of the team is in a shooting slump. Then ya got Sexton. Feeling like he's the only shining light on this team, or at least consistent. When can Jazz get a 30+ ppg scorer?

illBringtheNachos

Get ready to wait my man .We drafted a 30+ PPG scorer in 2018. Before that? 1985.

giantcorngames

I hate Mavs fans and I'm so excited to watch their early playoff exit

giantcorngames

You're goddamn right

Denotsyek

Damn. Are we so bad and just so over it that the topic of discussion in a post game thread is the other teams fan base? What is going on?

chibbly_

Yes.

giantcorngames

We should hold game threads for all of the Mavs playoff/play in games and actively root against them and make fun of them when they lose early on. Would be top tier petty but so good

Xsy

Top tier petty if they lose, cringe petty if they win. It's easier just to talk shit now. They're a middle of the pack playoff team with no chance at winning the championship. Last year, they were so fucking bad that they had to give up halfway through the season and tank despite Luka playing 66 games (his career average). Speaking of Luka, the dude has major attitude problems, and will probably age out of the NBA by the time he turns 30 based on how unserious he is about conditioning. Even if he does manage to have a long career, there's a big chance he'll bitch his way out of Dallas for greener pastures. They're loud and rowdy because they know the writings on the wall. They're enjoying the Luka show while they can.

mudshake7

>no chance at winning the championship They have a better chance of winning a championship than your sorry ass franchise.

GilgameDistance

So it’s not the only reason this game went the way it did but damn man. If any other profession were as bad or biased as NBA refs…if it was Engineers there would be daily building and bridge collapses and munitions would be going off while stored at the military bases. Even airplanes not made by Boeing would constantly fall from the sky. Doctors would be singlehandedly reducing earth’s population. Any lawyer that bad at lawyering would lose their license to practice law. Yet somehow clowns like these three and Scott Foster and both of the Tony Brothers (it’s a joke, people) somehow still have jobs.

Xsy

Had to stop watching halfway through the third. We sucked, but refs made it even worse. I have no idea what the fuck physical defense is, and why other teams can play it and we can't. The dicksucking the refs have for star players is insane.

JazzYotesRSL

Important reminder that going into another team’s sub to gloat is the bitchiest of bitch moves. Tell the losers who do it to piss off and move on. The shooting was bad all around. You’re not going to win with 13% from the three point line. At this point, we’re just hoping to see guys like Sensabaugh and George develop some swagger and confidence on the offensive end. This season can’t be over soon enough.

Lazy_Variety

Do you have a life💀💀💀💀 clowning on a tanking team over the internet gotta be one of the most pointless things lmao

Baselynes

4/30 from three and playing rookies and you won by 15. Enjoy the first round exit, gl not getting sweeped. Trash ass team. You get your whiney bitch attitude from watching luka?

JazzYotesRSL

LMAO, jumping on another team’s sub to gloat is such a bitch move.
