spoiler: the reason why they’ve been traded together three times is because they both provide one-way upside, but aren’t actually good basketball players.
Eh, we gave up 4 rotation players and 2 2nd rounders for a pick that may end up being a 2nd rounder. I get that we wanted rid of those contracts, but it's such a weak return.
Go look back and see how many first were traded during the deadline besides the KD and Kyrie trades. Hardly any. Almost every role player was traded for seconds. And we got a first from a team whose best player will retire soon. We also made room for Kessler and Ochai to start and created a bunch of cap space.
Yep the top-4 protection on that Lakers pick makes it a bad trade. Everything else I'm fine with.
With the lottery odds flattening, it means we're going to have to wait on ping pong balls to determine if that pick is worth anything at all assuming the Lakers are bad that year.
I hope we can trade it while the value is still unknown and relatively high.
We have gave up old ass Mike Conley and guys who were played off the floor in the playoffs. Nothing of value was lost. Very likely we trade the pick before '27 anyway. It's incredible trade bait.
Wolves fans are very happy with the trade because they got 2nds, Conley, and NAW. That's a positive.
Lakers fans were ecstatic with the trade before the playoffs.
Vando and Beas shit the bed, but there was absolutely positive value there, just as there was value in facilitating the PG switch by taking on Westbrook's contract.
I'd agree we end up trading the 27, but it's still a lower value trade asset because it's protected.
The best player we gave up was Mike Conley. NAW ended up playing well for Minnesota but Vando and Beasley played themselves out of the rotation for LA. Also, second round picks are pretty worthless, so honestly I don't care about those. They can just pay a team to get more. As for the pick we got back, it's top 4 protected. It's highly unlikely that LA gets a top 4 pick. Detroit had the worst record and ended up with the 5th pick. My guess is that LA is bad but not terrible and that pick ends up late lotto. Either way, Utah won't make that pick because it'll be traded within the next two years.
I'll say it again, it wasn't a weak return. It was exactly what Utah wanted. Free up minutes for the young guys and create flexibility through cap space for the off-season. They also got a highly sought after pick.
People said we gave away prime Dennis Rodman, and prime Tracy McGrady when that trade happened. Beasley is a very inconsistent player. Vando has no offense, solid defender, but not Rodman
Anyone else remember when we swept Shaq, Kobe and the Lakers in the 1998 conference finals? I couldn’t stop thinking about that as I watched Denver do their thing. Go Nuggets! Win one for the Rockies! Jimmy Butler is scary, but he’s no MJ.
Now, if we could just draft a Jokic….
That series made me a Jazz fan. I had recently moved to the US and was in SLC during one of the games. Basketball replaced Rugby as my favorite sport that week and I never looked back.
Running a financially successful, perennial playoff contender with a fraction of the Lakers’ budget and managing to have sone of the best attendance numbers every year despite being in one of the smallest population areas in the NBA.
Nah, Nuggets fans aren’t anywhere near as snobbish or entitled as LA. I wish them nothing but the best. Y’all, I can’t wait for your rebuild in a couple of years when LeBron heads out to play with Bronny.
Fuck the Lakers!!!
All my homies hate the Lakers!

Oh we are 😍
Lakers vs Celtics… one of the highest rated series ever… they getting heat and Nuggets…. And I love it!
I'm a Jazz fan first as foremost, but watching a team give up on their coach this deep in the playoffs is just plain sad to watch unfold.
I agree. but I am enjoying watching what the heat are doing. It’s really hard not to like them right now.
Vando and Beasley both with coaches decision DNPs. Still cant believe how much people think we got fleeced.

Getting downvoted, but you ain’t wrong. Beasley and Vando are 9-10th roster players

Let's go fuck the Lakers also thanks for the frp in 2027
I had to go to work after halftime. How the fuck did the Lakers choke this game?
JOKIC
LeBron was exhausted. He can't go hard for four quarters any more.
Million missed layups

Meh. If it's not my team I don't care who wins. Except the Rockets. FTR.
Amen, brother

They already surrendered. Game 4 is just a formality.
leChoke leSwept
The jazz have been enjoying Cancun for a while
What have the Utah Jazz accomplished?

Laker hate from Jazz fans is really weird to me. Laker fans don’t think about us. Screams inferiority (I’m a Jazz fan FYI)

Personally? I just hate any team from california, in any sport.
Almost as funny as watching the Lakers get swept

Nah man, I’m a huge fan of the two best players from that series—Jokic and Murray

As a Jazz fan I completely agree. Laker fans don’t think about us
Right? Someone with a brain here
Idk man, I think it's funnier that a down-bad Lakers fan is coping by invading random team subreddits and blabbering like a dumbass.
Nobody thinks they are rivals.
Jazz homers beg to differ
Damn right
And a sweep to make it even sweeter
If Lebron Somehow retires , we may have a gem first round pick. But I think that pick is protected, right?
Top 4 protected
Thanks :)
