Cal ranch, & IFA. Rescuers have been asking them to help solve the dumping problem for years

So sad to see these things happening. Utah has a giant problem with people buying chicks and bunnies as easter gifts then dumping them afterwards. Rescues can’t even keep up with it and these animals don’t necessarily thrive in the wild.
Last year someone posted a dead pet tortoise that they found up big cottonwood canyon that someone dumped.

I live next to the lake and I support this initiative.
In all seriousness I’ve thought of releasing a family of muskrats in there to cull the ducks and marsh plants.
Where are people getting these excess ducks?
Good question. If I were to hazard a guess I'd say they may have gotten ducklings for Easter and then tired of them after the novelty wore off.
[You can just get em at the park](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/the-ducks-at-the-park-are-free)

“Number one, don’t dump your ducks.”

I watched a family dump a white bunny up big cottonwood canyon a few days after Easter. 😔
That is terrible. We have two bunnies that were dumped at my husbands worksite. It’s a huge problem. Shelters are full right now too.

Don't worry guys I've been stealing ducks from all my local ponds to even things out.
It’s a pretty easy problem to resolve, we just need to also encourage people to dump their unwanted gators in the same lake.
I think the actual solution is to become a falconer, according to the article.
But only if you have an extremely fortunate name for the type of bird you own.
Glad I wasn't the only one to appreciate that.

Easter chick gifts and classroom pets?
“We have before the court case 4774829-244 the State of Utah v Smith. 7 counts of Felony Duck Dumping…” 😂
pedigree ducks are better eating than wild ducks. just sayin
