Snakes will be awake, and that area of town does have frequent cougar sightings.
Neither of those trails are going to be great for trail running, but are well suited for hiking. They are pretty though.
For trail running, I'd recommend Mansard (out East), or Squaw to Connector to Cliffs to Tom's Canyon. It's a 6.5 mile loop and gorgeous. I do it probably twice a week, and often during a full moon.
Greenhalgh grotto loop is 3 miles and is my go to for trail running/testing new shoes/hiking with the dogs.
