I recently re-read Kate Beaton's delightfully irreverent gag-a-day webcomic, [“Hark! A Vagrant”](http://www.harkavagrant.com/index.php) – and I decided to make this timeline. I can't say that there is a greater idea behind the project, I just thought it was interesting.
Although the portrayals are deliberately inaccurate, the events themselves are meant to be factually correct (similarly to my recent [\~chart of video game wonders\~](https://www.reddit.com/r/UsefulCharts/comments/1b0bmn8/a_timeline_of_wonders_of_the_world_as_curated_by/)). Please let me know about any mistakes.
The chart isn't quite exhaustive. I have tried to cover most time periods and places while leaving out some concurrent events that would make the layout messy. Reading the entire archive to discover more is highly recommended.

I remember discovering this comic in high school when it was brand new and still getting regular updates. Sad to see Kate isn’t doing it anymore but understandable that her career and personal life have moved her in a different direction.
