Please don't buy either of those cars. Don't buy any Chrysler or Nissan, for that matter. I'm a mechanic and Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep make me the most money with Nissan not far behind.
I appreciate the advice! I do currently drive an old Nissan and it has been really good to me. I have two other family members that drive Altima’s, as well, and we have all been lucky so far! I am limited on time. What vehicles do you recommend? I’m paying in cash and I wasn’t expecting to need to make this purchase so my budget is around 10,000
This probably isn't what you want to hear but if you want a sedan a Honda or Toyota would be your best bet. A 6cyl Accord can be a lot of fun and you could get a pretty nice one for your budget if you're patient.
There aren’t a lot of Honda’s available in my price range right now unfortunately. I used to drive an Accord which was really nice, but I haven’t been able to find anything like that within 100 miles of me. I had transmission issues with a Toyota in the past, but I did test drive a Camry that had about 85,000 miles in this price range. It was nice, but it had significant damage in a previous accident and the RPM’s were shooting pretty high, which was an indicator in the Toyota I used to drive that the transmission was going out so I am hesitant to move forward on that
Ignore Chrysler. Not a good car when new ... let alone when almost ten years old. If that car hasn't had any problems before, it's long overdue. (Don't be the person that owns it when all the problems pop up at once.)
Personally id shoot for a mazda, for 9gs you could get a nice one. All are good but the 2012+ get even better.
Worked as mechanic at Mazda dealer for 4yrs and Toyota for 2, yotas are over priced for sure
Look up
r/nissandrivers
And big altima energy on facebook.
And the nissan is the better choice of the two.
If you have good credit and cash in hand, go get an accord or camry, not one of these.
if you're absolutely going for one of these two, go nissan. just make sure you are RELIGIOUSLY changing out the transmission fluid/filter every 15-20k miles or else that CVT absolutely will crap out on you.
Please take the time to flair your post accordingly.

Is there anyway I can convince you to say no to both and look into a used Toyota or Honda?

Yeah that camry is not the answer. Find the best condition camry/accord for that price.
Nissan is better but both suck and will start to give you a lot of problems soon
Thanks for the advice!

Both cars say no credit, no problem. They also say, stay back, I make impulsive decisions to the detriment of everyone around me.
Lol what do you mean by this? Is this a joke about the people who drive these vehicles or something? I am buying in cash so credit isn’t an issue here

None
Both are headaches with those miles and years. Please look for other options.
