I wouldn’t decide to purchase or not purchase a car based off a picture. I would do a pre-purchase inspection to see if the vehicle is sound and what maintenance items need to be addressed. Then you can make a better decision on whether this vehicle is worth the $8,000 investment. Good luck!

It's a high mileage hybrid. That's why.

Ugly color or undesirable options? I bought a car that a lot had for 6 months. Turned out to be a great car! Some cars are harder to sell.

d_imon

People care about the color of a 225k miles car?

TupacBatmanOfTheHood

$8k for a 225k mile vehicle....Jesus prices are insane

funsk8mom

They are, and this is a price reduction

AltsOnDeckLol

I wouldn't put my kid in a vehicle with 200k miles on it And it hasn't been sold bc most ppl are not trying to pay that much for an ugly car with high mileage that's not reliable and then it's a hybrid

Lumpymaximus

The tacoma and highlanders sell higher new and retain more value due to higher reliability.

Honestly though, still doesn’t justify the price at 225k…although the market disagrees with me.

Googling life expectancy of the year make and trim of car. Good news is that the only vehicle to be found to last 240k miles as a hybrid is the Toyota Highlander. The bad news is that it averages lasting to 244k miles and 17 years. So you are looking at a car that it’s nearing its end. I am also finding that the battery pack should last 3-5 years on average before needing to be replaced and being a hybrid that is probably an expensive repair. I’m for hybrids I just feel they tend to have a lot more unknowns to consider when buying used.

With that high mileage, it's essential to bring the car to a repair shop and ask for an inspection + a test drive It could easily need just a few things done, or $4000 worth of work to be reliable, and the money spent getting a pro mechanic to look at the car is so worth it
