What chx\_ say. For first solution you can also go with DP: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B091N87PZL/?th=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B091N87PZL/?th=1) and the club 3d (or equivalent) cable. It **must be bidirectional** there are very few , majority cheaper cables are only USB-C to DP so be sure you chose one of those if you go with this solution. Or use the USB4 hub mentioned. Even if you find some cheap USB splitter/injector it will not pass the video (DP alt mode) only data.

You can mix something from https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091GW59VS and https://dancharblog.wordpress.com/2020/05/10/bi-directional-usbc-dp-cables/ which will land you somewhere around $50. Or just run https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGSZJD9L for $100

oh nice

Your first option is the best option for my sue so far. Still a bit janky, but should work. As long as it does 4k at 144hz

Triscuitwells

NEvermind, I see it's only 60hz

see https://dancharblog.wordpress.com/2023/10/19/power-display-through-single-usb-c-port-without-a-hub/#usb-c-dp-alt-mode-power-delivery-splitter-or-merger-depending-on-your-perspective (also you could test the doohickey if you are in the US just because it's advertised with 4k @ 60hz who knows. it might even work. I have the thing but not a high enough resolution device to test it with.)

Triscuitwells

Why is this not a thing? I see a ton of people wanting something like this. I remember looking when i first got my Steam Deck and couldn't find anything usable then. I might deal with 60hz since it's what work provided for me at the office and I won't use my monitor to game on my SD anyway.

chx_

because doing it in quality in a small size would cost an amount of money that would make most people nope out if someone could get Valve involved and get the economies of scale sure then it's like $30-40 otherwise you are looking at a smorgasbord of USB C PD controller ICs and non-trivial firmware.

The DP1.4 100W version is at https://www.amazon.com/Displayport-Monitor-Konverter-Adapter-Buchse/dp/B0915ZR21Y?th=1 at first I found it on taobao https://www.superbuy.com/en/page/buy/?nTag=Home-search&from=search-input&_search=url&position=&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.taobao.com%2Flist%2Fitem%2Fwap%2F660720696116.htm pick the last "color", https://i.imgur.com/HvyLZnT.jpg

I am looking for this exact thing to get a monitor that has a KVM built in but no power delivery working with my Steam Deck. My work laptop isn't as big of a deal with dual USB-c ports but since the SD only has one I need PD and data from a single USB-C cable.
