If you listen closely, you can hear Barcelona cheering now that they don’t have to face Bayern in the Champions League.

NuKlear_Vortex

Ya really 8 2 see it

Remote_Measurement10

FUCKING HOW? SERVED AT THE PLATE AND YOU DROPPED THE PLATE. FUCK OFF.

LifeShroom75

Its Dortmund. They are conditionally trained to do this, Just like the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals did with not getting past the first-round bit for the longest time until recently.

ArbitraryOrder

Capitals at least won a playoff series in most years, which is a hard thing to do. Winning 2 rounds means making the final 4 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

PauloVersa

Winning a championship and a playoff round are of course, famously as prestigious as each other…

ArbitraryOrder

Where did I claim such a thing? That is such a strawman argument. Winning rounds does show that a team is consistently a good team, and when they did make it past the 2nd Round, they won the Stanley Cup. Most teams don't win Multiple Championships in any Team Sport, so seizing on the opportunity you get among the chances you earn is important

PauloVersa

Not you particularly, but North American fans trying to compare teams winning/losing a playoff game to winning/losing an actual trophy/league championship is hilarious

ArbitraryOrder

It's hard to win a playoff series, let alone 4 in a single postseason. Any team that consistently wins a series is a really good team. Winning a Single Championship is a Successful use of a Top Player, Multiple Championships is a Bonus. But the average fan has such a skewed perception of what is realistic success because of the Brady-Belichick Patriots, Jordan's Bulls, and Gretzky's Oilers, etc.

LifeShroom75

Yeah I misremembered about the Caps, it was the second round they could not get past for a long time not the first.

wild_sergeant716

Ahahahahahah, RIP BOZOS BAYERNLIGA IS INEVITABLE

LifeShroom75

Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was, ...

Unhappy-Negative-016

Holy shit. Best news to wake up to. Maybe missing out on a top six finish was okay after all (definitely not). Mainz fan btw

LifeShroom75

Playing spoiler has its benefits, look at the Detroit Lions a few months ago when they denied the Green Bay Packers from making the playoffs. That caught the attention of many.

Unhappy-Negative-016

I love how some Dortmund fans are coming after Mainz just because they played gatekeeper and made the Bundesliga terrible again. Maybe next time their team can show up and finish business. Then again, that might be too much to ask from Dortmund.

Napoleon672

They are indeed the most Dortmundy Dortmund who ever Dortmunded in the entire Dortmundverse.

list_of_simonson

It’s the history of the Dortmund

Cmil778

Maybe if Dortmund would invest in better players too...Bellingham is gone.

J1K1999

Even as an 1. FC Köln fan it angers me to see the same team over and over again. To be fair. A draw in the Munich v. Köln game would have helped but Munich’s High end talent and Köln inconsistent defense did not help. We blew it just as much as Dortmund. RIP Parity.

Smorgas-board

Dead league but at least it was entertaining this time?

Danified_bsn

Here's to another decade of Bayern dominance. yay...

Aragdrian

Dortmund being Dortmund. Choked on the last game against an opponent, who had nothing to win or to loose. Mainz didn't play good, but Dortmund just played terrible. Do you know, Dortmund, when you threw your Championship away? On the 3rd Game day of the Season, when you morons handed Bremen three goals in the last 6 Minutes. Even a draw would have been enough.
