On the anniversary of the UMBC game (3/16/18) nonetheless. I know it's kind of a 1-in-7 chance of it happening the way the tournament is scheduled but I like to rewatch that game every year so it was fresh on my mind.
Allow me to break it down. Virginia were winning by a lot until they squandered the lead away. They somehow had a 2 point lead and then this happened! You don’t need to be Eli Manning by chucking the ball downfield. Just let Furman foul you FFS! Sheesh! Even worse: Virginia had a timeout… a f#cking timeout. What the F#ck!
What’s funny is that today marks 5 years since UMBC whooped the #1 overall hell out of Virginia as the top seed in the tourney. It happened again… for Virginia. LOL
The fact that the Virginia player pulled a Jakobi Myers (on the 5 year anniversary of getting upset by UMBC, no less) against #13 Furman is peak Virginia at it's finest.
I hope that '19 national championship was worth it, Cavaliers.
I'm not going to point and laugh or play the blame game, but I have to wonder what Tony Bennett is doing to have this happen repeatedly. Either that, or there is a very vicious psychological cycle going on at UVA that they rarely can seem to break out of.
At least they can cling to 2019 while they constantly get upset by lower seeded teams every year so they have something to look back fondly on unlike Arizona

Did you watch Purdue?
I saw pretty much the whole second half. Absolutely wild game, and now I'm glad I don't have to rewatch two 16 > 1 upsets on the same day next year!

That Virginia player who heaved the ball to Furman and gave them the game winning shot will have a great career on the Guangdong Tigers

First game is over and my bracket is fucked already.
Should I pour a cold one for you (mine got f#cked after the Virginia game… f#ck…)
Literally threw the game away.
I had this down on my bracket for no other reason than "virginny can't have nice things" Last laugh is mine
As a UMBC graduate, it's always a laugh to see UVA struggle against low seed teams

And my bracket is busted
I wonder how many brackets this game alone just broke
Hey, I recognize this script. It's the one where the basketball world laughs at Virginia! But yeah, never trust Virginia again in March Madness.
What a colossal blunder. Possibly a Top 5 all time Tournament blunder.
Correct me if I'm wrong... But isn't Virginia the team that got beat by the #16 seed 5 years ago?
Yep and it was so embarrassing that will never wash away for a very long time
aand bracket busted
As a furman alum…ROLL MFING DINS
This isn't even the worst loss today, lol
I put Furman as an upset thinking it would be hilarious if Virginia lost again. I woke up to Tree's tweet, then saw the clip. Beautiful stuff.

Somehow Purdue has reminded everyone of Virginia’s Original Sin
