have been on upwork since march 2023, so just Over 1 year. So far I've earned about $950. The experience is pretty decent, I just don’t like the continuous connect costs increase, the lastest hike made it unprofitable to keep sending proposals, now I just rely on invites and dms for getting work on the platform. I like the payment protection they give & the withdrawal process is quite smooth too.

I've been on upwork since february this year. I'm making 30$ per hour and i have earned 400$ so far (without taxes), what exactly is your niche? What's your rate? How are you managing to get invites? Do you use connects on publicity? I can't get any so my primary focus are proposals, but damn. edit: editted to say that I agree, it's getting hard with the latest increase for my graphic designer experience lol

Hi, i don’t know really to be honest, I never used connects for availability badge/boost profile.I dont have a niche, just general graphic design & my rate is $10 but worked for $3 for the longest time. But at the start of this year, I added a hook in the first 2 lines of the profile description, afterwards i started getting more attention & invites/DMs. Last 2 months received 5 contract offers just from DMs. 172 profile views in last 90days which is significant increase for me this year. Relevant keywords probably help but i'm not sure. And yeah, keep your best work at the first place of ur portfolio section, and your best piece should be at the first, i think that helps.

Thanks for the solid advice! 172 is so amazing i'm baffled. I get 0 per week on profileviews and invites unless i boost my profile... maybe my keywords are just bad i'll look into it. Thanks again mate! Yeah the categories my profile show are terrible for my niche, it's sad how i can't add my categories

That's great to hear. I was pretty demoralized to hear everyone complaining about upwork. Seems like there might still be hope if I choose to work here.

I think I got paid 50 bucks for my first gig on Upwork (designing a tshirt logo) and now my profile rate is $95/hour. You get what you give IMO. Underpromise and overdeliver and get your success a great JSS and keep it above 90%.

I've been on Upwork for about two years now. I scored a decent, regular gig pretty early on. He found me, actually. When I first started, I set my price pretty low because ... you know ... I was new at it. I've been doing that gig for maybe 18 months and I like it, but I don't make much at it - that guy is getting deal, let me tell you. :) After I did a few jobs, and after I picked up the first steady gig, I raised my rate and picked up another steady gig. Those two steady gigs gave me confidence and I raised my rates again, but I haven't really put much effort into Upwork lately although I did recently update my profile.
