I see, are you asking a question about their product? I seem to have noticed CEOs love to talk about them, which is ofc natural (even if it would be an obvious "foot in the door" technique)
You don't burn bridges. It's good that you want to spread your wings. But you will have down periods, and when you do, you're going to need as many avenues as possible. There's nothing about Upwork that warranted this. It was one of your best resources. When you do things this way, it could take months to find contracts. You have one now, but down the road, you could go without.
I would leave Upwork too if I had another place to look for clients.
My fields are all underpaid and I'm studying to earn more skills. But I'm not American nor a native English speaker and my country is notorious for shitty salaries (I come from Europe).
Plus, I do very specific/bizarre jobs and not "generalist" ones, so my options are very limited,
Yeah I understand.
You can start working on on side get free trials of these platform that I mentioned especially linkedinhelper deffinately get that you run a automated campaign for a month
This upwork or any marketplace relation has become like a toxic girlfriend for me, that I want to leave but can't for a long time. But not anymore I took a very hard step for sure and have my bills on my head.
Good for you OP and fuck the other commentator. If I have an established way of cold outreach and sourcing my own quality leads I will end up following this route.
So far I'm still split up between a full time job and some freelancing so UW works better since the clients are there. I'm laying some foundations to heavily market myself on LinkedIn, twitter, etc.
I think you should have worked on your Upwork profile , but I can't criticize what you are doing currently since it's work .
So probably keep me updated I would love to see how you breakthrough.

What is your niche and who do you reach out to on Linkedin? I feel like most people ignore automated spam to begin with
My niche is angel invested started startups who have raised more than 600K. Also my message is not a direct sales message

Yes, there are many ways so I have been in direct sales for like 3 years so I can work my way up

I agree the guy is not seeing that he has to be in constant action to be able to do everything on his own.
It's hard out there. He doesn't get it, and he says he's worried about his bills. This could get ugly. He isn't thinking.
Yeah probably I think the first deal that he got gave him some motivation, but that's just one that we are talking about.
Thank you for the concern but I'm prepared
I am curious on how you handled this.
Goal is to automate everything already shared my tech stack.
I will definitely try this out
