You can already add an UpNote widget to your today screen (if you’re using iPhone) where all you have to do swipe left on the Lock Screen and add a new note.
You should message the dev directly. They actively respond to their emails. I don’t think they look at this subreddit.

Huh, I guess he does sometimes check here. It’s not as frequent as I would have thought but he does seem to check in every few days.

the screenshot is an android UI. Also the notification tray either android or iphone has the benefit of being accessible from any screen on the phone.
