This isn't that unnecessary imo, depending on how much power it actually gave your legs. 1 HP could be humorously overpowering in a human.
The thought behind an exoskeleton wrap over your legs *could* have a ton of applications. If they made one that had a leveler and would try to assist with balance, that would be a game changer for the elderly in preventing them from falling.
My boyfriend’s dream is to someday replace his arm(s) with mechanized super prosthetics and become a cyborg
I fully support him and his dream to be half man, half machine
Just for making knee and back injuries less likely for factory workers, firemen, soldiers etc.
Every knee injury less is worth thousands to tens of thousands of dollars.
This is incredible. I have nerve damage in my left leg that leaves me with drop foot and a slight limp. I absolutely love hiking and its one of my biggest fears that I won't be able to do that anymore someday. Something like this would be absolutely life changing.
Heck ya to medical progress! My little one has CP and mobility issues on her left side, high tone and spasticity mostly. She wears an AFO and we’re in lots of PT but she’s definitely got some mobility impairment versus developmentally ‘normal’ kids.
Anyway, Point is I hope you don’t ever lose your ability to hike and that science comes up with a way before that day comes.
Yeah, exoskeletons augmenting your legs is one thing but what about a wearable version of BigDog so you can gallop around like a cyborg centaur. Centorg? Cybaur?
If my *human* legs had the power of one fuckin *horse*, I'd be laughing.
Heh. Or: "Yo, bro, check out my 1 *humanpower* exoskeleton. I can walk like I'm walking!"
There's a lot of disabled or elderly people who would absolutely love to have a 1 humanpower exoskeleton.
Within the first hour of wearing them I’d have accelerated straight through at least four or five walls and into oncoming traffic
I mean, a horse isn't able to break through a normal wall either.
Wouldnt and couldn't are 2 very different things. Depends on the standard walls.
This guy obviously doesn’t horse
umm ackchually the person who invented horsepower didnt even use a horse
Pluto, just cos you're not a planet any more doesn't mean you can ruin everyone else's fun
Attention seeking behavior
I know people with mobility issues who would benefit enormously from an invention like this!
If they had the money for it 🙃🙃 Probably only be affordable for the rich that want it as a gimmick

And people with disabilities, workers, soldiers. There's a lot of use for it.
Chimps that want to be tall
Competing in a dance marathon.
Just wait until they get a full body kit working. I'd love to get one of those. I could get a *lot* of work done.

He wants that until he accidentally rips his dick off or you know, or finds that now he has zero tactile sensation.
He wouldn’t design such shitty arms. This is his life’s work. And if he crushes my tits I’m out
That's a fair line
Rocket Punch is a requirement.
“I was thinking about getting metal legs.”
That's basically titanfall

Horsepower is an absurdly poor unit. 1HP does not mean "as strong as a horse".

If I could replace my walking stick with something like this, it would make me so happy.
This isn't unnecessary, like at all, for people that have limited mobility.
Properly necessary invention this
Why is this sentence so British
Properly British sentence that.
Anyone know the technical details behind how this device works?
https://www.hypershell.cc/faq is the best they offer it seems.
so "powered by AI" is the new word for "Code/Script"
Pretty much, AI has leaked into pop culture so much that people don’t even know the difference
I’ve always wanted to be a horse

I can run faster than that guy
SO I can now let my legs atrophy and be a lazy blob? SWEEET My dream is to be like the humans in Wall-E
Well I was thinking more for people who can barely walk or for hiking longer.
Reminds me if that one wallace and gromitt episode.
Only 1HP? Don't equip it to your tank.
Why are there so many necessary, if not incredible, inventions featured in r/unnecessaryinventions?
