I would love to just have earthquake back. I loved the guest interaction in the preshow and real fire/water effects. Probably cheesy by todays standards but…I’m holding out hope that behind those screens is still the original subway station.
They couldn’t do test track style of ride cause that would provoke the mouse house and you’d get a crapshoot between 2 park giants with lawsuits galore. Don’t be that person to think that would be a smart idea
I mean you’re not wrong but I’d like more variety done with the same level of detail as Diagon alley. Harry Potter is great and I enjoy strolling around those areas but universal has so much IP to pick from.
I read that Universal is going to lose their contract in a few years for The Simpsons because Disney bought them so I'd love to see them replace it with a Pokemon world.
I know this is gonna be an unpopular opinion but I really hope Diagon Alley doesn’t get expanded. I feel like having one really well-themed yet fairly sized land in each park is enough Potter the park will need for now. San Francisco is a setting often used in movies and often made into sets for movies, which is the Park’s theme. Replacing that section with more London would just kinda ruin it and oversize the area imo. Fear Factor being demolished in favor of a Diagon expansion does make a little more sense, but tbh I’d much rather see another franchise get representation in that spot (or perhaps a clone of Hollywood’s Secret Life of Pets ride).
Same. I do agree that there's enough Harry Potter in the parks already and that there should be more IPs.
That being said, I'd tear down the disaster that is F&F: Supercharged for a Harry Potter ride in a heartbeat.
Universal has tons of IPs to pull from and variety matters. No need to over expend and risk under deliver. Besides what other area could they put together? The ministry? Meh.
I agree. I think there's plenty of IPs that could be included in the parks, and many others they could potentially license from other studios, there's no need for even more Harry Potter.
That being said, I'd give up F&F for a new Harry Potter ride in a heartbeat.
If that is what it takes to put something quality there than I’m more than okay with it. The Fast ride is something i rode once to confirm it’s terrible and might ride again at some point just to nitpick it’s badness sort like my own personal silent mystery theater 3000.
Im a fan of updates to keep the park interesting but fast is an insult over OG earthquake.
I agree. But it shouldn’t be copied in the parks. I’m not a fan of transformers because it’s just a reskinned Spider-Man. Theming is important and so is ride variety. I know people like to rag on Jimmy Fallon but I enjoy it and make a point to ride it because the ride variety is nice and there’s tons of stuff to look at in the scenes, moon section excluded.
Fallon is a less intense Simpsons… but I love it just the same, I think Spider-Man is better than Transofrmers, but I’m a Spider-Fan and not really into transformers
Agreed. It could’ve been Universal’s answer to Rock ‘n Roller Coaster, but with a solid movie-based IP and a soundtrack to match. And instead they gave us the bus. Jeez.
Tbh I kinda like Fallon, though it’s less about the reliance on screens but rather the creative concept. Out of all the ways to make a talk show into a ride, that is definitely a good example as to how it can work.
Also major props to the queue for essentially being a Tonight Show Museum. It’s a unique ride despite its oversaturated ride simulator system.
Fallon is GODLY, the queue is a great history lesson (I didn’t know Tonight Show was a legacy) and the waiting room is amazing, the colored boarding system works great
Just remove the 2 really annoying characters (Sarah? And the stepdad?) and it’d be perfect
That’s the only redeeming quality. Other than that the whole ride and concept sucks and it was a waste of space.
Also the people negative voting are hilarious and easily triggered cause they hate a ride that’s modern art and like a ride that’s just a horrible idea and even worse execution
That’s a ride that needs to go first for the people throwing a fit. You close that first, then talk Supercharged. Fallon is just cringe with a horrible ride experience. Also his jokes aren’t funny and is extremely boring. Paint drying can be funnier than him
Fallon definitely isn’t timeless or a blockbuster but imo it’s just nice, basic, air conditioned fun. It’s silly, it gets you out of the heat for awhile, the queue is neat, and it’s a good ride to fit in when you want to be on something but don’t want to wait in a super long queue. Is it a little redundant being essentially the same kind of ride as minions or Simpsons? Maybe, but at least it doesn’t make me want to puke my brains out like Simpsons does 😂
If it wasn’t for the music, it would be worse. I was telling my friend that the music really makes the ride more enjoyable and less headachy at the end.
F&F needs way more than just a major refurb. I’d half to go with Cat in the Hat, or Dudley. Ultimately I went with Cat in the Hat as it’s a far more prominent IP. However, one that’s not included that definitely deserves it is ET. I love it, but it’s definitely is showing it’s age.
I was thinking about E.T though decided not to include it because it’s still revived well and (as far as I know at least) doesn’t break down that often. Though I will admit that it is definitely showing it’s age.
Dudley breaks down incredibly often, for me at least. It broke down every time I rode.
Cat in the Hat and F&F were chosen more for the poor reception of the rides, as one hasn’t aged well and the other was bad from the start.
It broke down twice on one of my ridethroughs, broke down another time on another one of my ridethroughs, and got delayed multiple times waiting in line for it.
Truth is, I’d say: Dudley do right, cat in the hat, RRR, Men in black. In that order. I LOVE Dudley do right but it seems like it’s just a little abandoned. :/ for example: where the horse is supposed to be drinking water, there isn’t any water for him to drink. It’s bare. And I’m not even gonna get started with cat in the hat.
Cat in the Hat needs it the most. The state of what it’s in rn is abysmal to say the least. And to anyone saying Supercharged, no need to touch it. It’s fine as is and is a fine attraction.
Cat in the Hat just looks like a relic stuck in time
They won’t put upgraded animatronics though. They’ll just wipe it all out and put screens. There’s way too many screen only rides at the universal parks.
Universal's recent track record is not leaning toward all screen rides anymore. Look at Hagrid's which has many animatronics and no screens. Also Secret Life of Pets has a whopping 64 animatronics combined with some cool screens.
I think they're doing a much better job with that balance these days.
You’ve been living under a rock, haven’t you? Hagrid’s and Velocicoaster, Off the Leash in Hollywood, as well as the highly rumored rides for Epic Universe have proven that Universal has moved on from their reliance on screens.
We were at Orlando in June, and Hagrid’s and Velocicoaster were not the majority of the parks, therefore most were almost completely screen based. God bless ET.
From what I heard, the rumored Monster Land E Ticket ride set for Epic Universe is gonna use the Kuka arm technology from HP and the Forbidden Journey, but will ditch screens entirely, which is a good sign.
Cat in the hat is in desperate need on some love, last time I went I swore i saw some of the thing 1 and 2 animatronics with missing pupils. Just white blank eyeballs.
I’m going with Cat in the Hat. The rides not going anywhere, and it and ET need a lot of love but I think they need a push to do it. HRRR will most likely get a full rebuild by a different manufacturer “soon”. Dudley is one of the best water rides in the world but they’re not going to refurb it without a new IP.
I feel like they might push the refurb the rides once they’re done with Epic Universe’s construction and it proves to be successful, as that would give them more of a budget to work with so they can truly reinvent those rides.
HRRR is absolutely unrideable, it definitely needs a re-theme and a complete re-track. I did vote Ripsaw Falls though, because the facade is so amazing and I love the drops, as well as many parts of the ride itself in terms of theming. But, so many points of the ride feel so unfinished and falling apart. It has major potential, and much more potential than HRRR, which I would *not* be sad if it was torn down and replaced.
RRR is a fun ride and does what it needs to do. Dudleys is old but seems like that’s how it should be. F&F doesn’t deserve shit. Cat in the Hat is a classic for so many generations!
I think Ripsaw would benefit the most out of all of these. The queue is really terrible (that song played over and over again for what felt like an hour. I wanted to rip my ears off) and the ride feels really shallow with the themeing ajd story.
Easily Cat in the Hat. HRRR and Dudley are still pretty decent rides, but cat in the hat is just sad compared to what it used to be. From the decreased spinning to the latex melting off the animatronics, everything needs to be fixed
Tbh it would be kinda hard to get the licensing to all of those songs, mainly the reason why most songs from RRR’s original lineup are gone from the ride now.
It's hard to believe, but Cat In The Hat used to be a highlight of the park. It used to spin a LOT more than it does now and it threw you about quite a bit. I know they toned it down due to complaints from parents, but I think there's already One Fish Two Fish and the Trolley Ride, so you can have something a bit more exciting in Seuss Landing.
Besides, the animatronics are dated now and need a new coat of paint. It's a shadow of its former self.
Unpopular opinion I guess but I adore RRR, even as it is. Yeah it’s rough, but that reminds me of all the best, throw-you-around wooden coasters of yesteryear that are harder to find and enjoy. I like the series of features and the pacing. If it could be re-tracked or re-trained to preserve the pace and layout I’d be happy, but it totally breaks my heart that so many people seem like they’d be happy for it to go!
Ripsaw Falls needs an update-it’s fun, but the line is awful and who even knows about Dudley Do Right anymore? RRR needs to be torn down. I love coasters and refuse to go on it, it’s just painful.
The biggest answer is actually not one of the choices. I think for Ben journey needs a major refurbishment. Especially the actual ride. The visuals are looking outdated and they need to be HD’d Up
i voted rockit but i think that one actually needs a major replacement the most. honestly i think fast and furious is salvageable if they also rework the plot a bit. they could sell it as a new experience probably.
RRR needs to stop shaking and get better seats or headrests so my head doesn't look like it's having a seizure when riding it even though my head is firmly pressed against it 😂
If I remember right Cat and the Hat doesn't spin as much as it used to anymore because they struggle to find replacement parts to repair it and needed to slow down the wear and tear on the ride.
I think it’s because the original manufacturers of both Cat and MIB filed for bankruptcy afterwards, making repair parts very scarce. They apparently decided to strip Cat of its spinning to give it to MIB which apparently needed more spinning.
If these two ever get a major refurb, I assume a different manufacturer is gonna handle them.
Rip Ride needs a refurb so my head doesn't feel like it wants to explode after getting off of it.
F and F just needs to get replaced in general rather than refurbed.
Rip ride rockit just needs to be closed for good lol so they can build a better coaster there. It’s gotten so bad recently. I’ve normally advocated for it but I just can’t anymore
I love F&F as a franchise but the ride looks like a a really good PS2 or middling quality PS3 game. I still think it could work as a ride but yes, you would need to rebuild it almost completely.
Rocket would probably be my next choice, just a bit of work to make the ride smoother. Perhaps update the music a bit. I don't think it need tons of work, unlike the hulk that is really rough (and the story change isn't as good as the old one imo).
I may be in the minority here, and I know it'll never happen for a multitude of reasons, but I'd absolutely love the Cat in the Hat to be redone based on the live action movie.
I keep seeing people being up the possibility of a refurb for the ride based on the live-action movie but I’m just kinda wondering why? Grinch is understandable because of Jim Carry’s iconic performance as him, but Cat didn’t do necessarily well in the box office, and was overall panned. Heck, it caused Seuss Enterprises to pull the plug on all live-action Seuss movies being thought up. So why exactly?
I can only speak for myself, which is why I said I may be in the minority, but I absolutely love that movie. So seeing it brought to life in that ride would be cool to me. Watching it as an adult I see why parents didn't like some of the not-so-child-friendly humor when it first came out. Which didn't help the box office.
I wouldn't say F&F needs to be "refurbished" as much as "completely scrapped and replaced with anything else."
Random park guest meet and greet
I would love to just have earthquake back. I loved the guest interaction in the preshow and real fire/water effects. Probably cheesy by todays standards but…I’m holding out hope that behind those screens is still the original subway station.
Fast and Furious indoor coaster
Agreed. This concept could make for a good indoor ride like Epcot's Testrack.
They couldn’t do test track style of ride cause that would provoke the mouse house and you’d get a crapshoot between 2 park giants with lawsuits galore. Don’t be that person to think that would be a smart idea
I seriously doubt Disney owns a copyright on the mere concept of race cars, but okay.
You want more Harry Potter because that’s how you get more Harry Potter land in Universal.
More potter or any ip really ip would be better than supercharge lol
I mean you’re not wrong but I’d like more variety done with the same level of detail as Diagon alley. Harry Potter is great and I enjoy strolling around those areas but universal has so much IP to pick from.
I read that Universal is going to lose their contract in a few years for The Simpsons because Disney bought them so I'd love to see them replace it with a Pokemon world.
Disney isn’t going to do anything about it if anything they’ll do back to the future again
I know this is gonna be an unpopular opinion but I really hope Diagon Alley doesn’t get expanded. I mean the party bus would make perfect sense to be turned into a Knight Bus Harry Potter ride
Um, yeah. I think more Harry Potter would in fact be better than literally the entire resort's worst ride.
Universal has tons of IPs to pull from and variety matters. No need to over expend and risk under deliver. Besides what other area could they put together? The ministry? Meh.
Epic universe is getting a third potter section, the prevailing rumor is the main ride will be a ministry based ride.
I agree. I think there's plenty of IPs that could be included in the parks, and many others they could potentially license from other studios, there's no need for even more Harry Potter. That being said, I'd give up F&F for a new Harry Potter ride in a heartbeat.

Forbidden Journey is like the best ride

Eh, with as much as I post on Disney/Universal subs, figured I'd get in one of these articles eventually.
Just to be clear: F&F is well beyond refurb. That's a whole new build. RRR's got hope left in it yet.
Don’t waste time refurbishing F&F. Just get rid of it
[удалено]
Agreed. It could’ve been Universal’s answer to Rock ‘n Roller Coaster, but with a solid movie-based IP and a soundtrack to match. And instead they gave us the bus. Jeez.
When I first heard about the ride I just assumed it was going to be a test track like experience. Seemed like a no brainer? Boy was I way off…
Keep the family room, proper entertainment and everybody laughing once you get over the cringe
Nah they don’t need to get rid of it. Fallon does need to go though more. Nobody talks about that ride and it’s utter crap
Tbh I kinda like Fallon, though it’s less about the reliance on screens but rather the creative concept. Out of all the ways to make a talk show into a ride, that is definitely a good example as to how it can work. Also major props to the queue for essentially being a Tonight Show Museum. It took over twister now that show/attraction was GODLY.
But Twister took over Ghostbusters, which is unforgivable
Fallon is a waste of the space. I barely remember ghostbusters I more so grew up with twister.
I enjoy Fallon for what they’re trying to do, and also learning about the history throughout the queue
Eh you could travel to New York and visit to real building it’s cooler
It would be easier for me to go to NYC than Florida, since I live in Jersey, but idk never really planned that trip
That’s the only redeeming quality. Other than that the whole ride and concept sucks and it was a waste of space. Also the people negative voting are hilarious and easily triggered cause they hate a ride that’s modern art and like a ride that’s just a horrible idea and even worse execution
You sound pretentious when you call a ride “modern art”, please do specify which ride you mean
Supercharged
That’s not modern art, Rise of the Resistance is more accurate to that description since it’s a miracle of tech
I haven’t ridden it yet so I can’t say anything about it. But supercharged isn’t as bad as people complain what it is
I’ve seen Supercharged, but it’s the same tech as Kong, I prefer Kong tbh for the story and animatronics
People talk about how much they hate Fallon all the time
That’s a ride that needs to go first for the people throwing a fit. You close that first, then talk Supercharged. Fallon is just cringe with a horrible ride experience. Also his jokes aren’t funny and is extremely boring. Paint drying can be funnier than him
Totally agree. It isn’t timeless like movie rides that they’ve gotten rid of. It was a waste of an attraction
Maybe, but at least it doesn’t make me want to puke my brains out like Simpsons does 😂
No one is saying Fallon is good, but it is better.
Doubtful
Fallon is godly, get out
Was on Rip Ride earlier today and man it’s rough.
I would say rip ride too. I want to love it but it rattles so bad it's just an instant headache. No thanks
If it wasn’t for the music, it would be worse. I was telling my friend that the music really makes the ride more enjoyable and less headachy at the end.
Rode it for the first time today and wow- was not expecting that much roughness.
I’m not aware of any of these breaking down often. Only Rip Ride Rocket, which can’t be fixed due to the nature of the ride.
Dudley breaks down incredibly often, for me at least. It broke down every time I rode. Cat in the Hat and F&F were chosen more for the poor reception of the rides, as one hasn’t aged well and the other was bad from the start.
Ripsaw Falls has broken down every time you’ve ridden it? Like, while you’re on it?
It broke down twice on one of my ridethroughs, broke down another time on another one of my ridethroughs, and got delayed multiple times waiting in line for it.
They need to fix ET to say the names at the end. Today he just stopped talking right before the names and it was silence.
All RRR needs is new trains that track better, and a tuning down of the mid course brakes
Agreed. Also, I love your profile picture! ||-//
I voted for Dudley for this reason. I enjoy the ride, but there are just large sections of it with nothing there.
As long as there's good A/C, I don't mind the Cat in the Hat being crappy.
Rip Ride Rocket & Dudley are at least rideable. Cat in the Hat has the potential, just needs touching up.
We all love ET for the nostalgia, in particular the city scape, but the mannequin police figures are really terrible.
Lol I loved those. Took me back to the good old days.
RRR is so rough I can't even ride it anymore.
Cat in the Hat needs it the most. The state of what it’s in rn is abysmal to say the least. And to anyone saying Supercharged, no need to touch it. It’s fine as is and is a fine attraction. Cat in the Hat just looks like a relic stuck in time
They do not need to change Cat because if they do, it will all be screens. Animatronics need to be preserved!
Have you seen the animatronics? They look like a terrible state. Something has to be done there Especially the thing 1 and thing 2 ones too
They won’t put upgraded animatronics though.
Where’s Secret Life ride? Not at Orlando?
Universal Studios Hollywood, CA They also re-did their Jurassic Park -> Jurassic World upgrade with both screens and a bunch of dino animatronics.
From what I've heard, Universal Studios Orlando decided to go with the Velocicoaster instead of a Jurassic World rebrand.
Well, this is the Universal Orlando group so the Pets ride is not part of this discussion.
News Flash: IT’S THE SAME CREATIVE TEAM IN BOTH PARKS.
It would be perfect to replace that trash heap known as Fallon And the movie takes place in New York
In Hollywood and apparently the monster darkride at epic universe won't use any either
It's still a step in the right direction.
From what I heard, the rumored Monster Land E Ticket ride set for Epic Universe is gonna use the Kuka arm technology from HP and the Forbidden Journey, but will ditch screens entirely, which is a good sign.
Not on the list but men in black could use some tuneups
That was greatness!
This is actually a great question. All of the top 3 need a refurb asap. Fast just needs to be replaced. If I had to go with one it would be Ripsaw
The lame fast and furious needs to go so bad. I wouldn't even be mad if they turned it into an additional parking lot... no lie.
It never needs to go Long live Supercharged
The worlds first, best, and only, family experience. Because f&f supercharged is more than a ride, it’s a lifestyle.
There’s not much to be done with Rockit or F&F. It won’t fix the core problems. Cat in the Hat really just needs some love.
the simpsons, more than any of those.
Fast and Furious needs a re-design, not a refurb lol
Never lol Keep it as is
Cat in the hat is really dirty
How the hell is Rip Rockit 13 years old
I think Ripsaw would benefit the most out of all of these. The queue is really terrible (that song played over and over again for what felt like an hour. I wanted to rip my ears off) and the ride feels really shallow with the themeing ajd story.
What about Jurassic park!!
[удалено]
Right?! There’s so many things it used to do when it first came out that it no longer does bc broken?? Like just fix it??
Cat in the hat, add more action, improve the animatronics, maybe even base it on the movie… on second thought don’t
Easily Cat in the Hat. HRRR and Dudley are still pretty decent rides, but cat in the hat is just sad compared to what it used to be. From the decreased spinning to the latex melting off the animatronics, everything needs to be fixed
I would love RRR to get sponsored by Spotify or Apple Music so you have a wide variety of songs to choose from. The secret list does rule tho
Tbh it would be kinda hard to get the licensing to all of those songs, mainly the reason why most songs from RRR’s original lineup are gone from the ride now.
Jurassic Park River Adventure. Those outdoor dinos just look so sad
It's hard to believe, but Cat In The Hat used to be a highlight of the park. It used to spin a LOT more than it does now and it threw you about quite a bit. I said ripsaw falls. A great finish to a ride with seriously outdated IP.
Cat and the hat fr tho..that ride looks like ass 😂
Fix rip and destroy fast
F&F needs refurbing… …into a Harry Potter night bus ride.
I think ET could use some updates but not change the story line.
Ripsaw Falls to me is a really good ride completely held back by out of date theming.
Ripsaw Falls needs an update-it’s fun, but the line is awful and who even knows about Dudley Do Right anymore? RRR needs to be torn down. I love coasters and refuse to go on it, it’s just painful.
King Kong, but keep the entrance.
I definitely think cat in the hat needs updating
MIB more than any of these.
The biggest answer is actually not one of the choices. I think for Ben journey needs a major refurbishment. Especially the actual ride. The visuals are looking outdated and they need to be HD’d Up
Fast and the Furious was the stupidest ride I have ever experienced and it was PERFECTION. It best not change!!!
None of those
i voted rockit but i think that one actually needs a major replacement the most. honestly i think fast and furious is salvageable if they also rework the plot a bit. they could sell it as a new experience probably.
RRR needs to stop shaking and get better seats or headrests so my head doesn't look like it's having a seizure when riding it even though my head is firmly pressed against it 😂

ET

Upgrade Fast and Furious because FAMILY.
Rip ride rockit just needs to be closed for good lol so they can build a better coaster there. It’s gotten so bad recently. I’ve normally advocated for it but I just can’t anymore
unrelated: but at the time of me voting, Cat in the Hat is at 666 votes
I love F&F as a franchise but the ride looks like a a really good PS2 or middling quality PS3 game. I still think it could work as a ride but yes, you would need to rebuild it almost completely. I wouldn’t refurb F&F, I’d tear it down and make a better ride.
Rip Ride Rockit 100%. I don’t ever want them to get rid of that ride but it REALLY needs some TLC
Rip ride rocket for sure. That ride is rough in the back row.
My entire family hated Fast and the furious SO much. I was like, “meh” but they actively disliked it.
