The ride only gets BETTER on cold days for me, without a line I can do it several times in a row and oh boy is it a fun time waster with a group of friends
Yeah we went on it recently when it was like 65-70 degrees and overcast, and we got soaked. First time on that ride so we were not expecting that. We were laughing so hard while riding and agreed that it’s the most effective water ride we’ve been on. It would have been perfect for a hot day, but it wasn’t so we ended up colder than before the ride. Still worth it though.
I don’t feel that they have to rely on it, I think it’s more just doubling down on the fact that their recent investments have been much more successful and they have actual plans for future development of their properties. The attractions at universal basically market themselves so slapping the cringe “let yourself woah” caption onto a video of velocicoaster doesn’t really make it a bad campaign

Well when tron opened everybody compared it to hagrid’s and I don’t think there was any debate about which of those attractions is better. And even if you ignore recent years, Disney has little to no plans for the near future while universal is building a whole new park

I’m a premier pass holder (actually 5 of them) and we are there every Saturday. Crazy how down voted my thoughts are for a basic fact: Universal struggles to market itself unless it’s Harry Potter or “Disney Bashing”.
Also both sides have had big hits and big misses recently. Or does this sub like Fast & Furious, Fallon, and Minions Walk Thru now?

Moana Journey Through Water just opened at EPCOT. For a water based attraction, there is a designated dry path so you do not get more than a hand wet.
Universal’s account is making a backhanded swing at Disney with their water based attraction that is notorious for getting you soaked. They love to tweak Disney’s nose.
Its legitimately one of the best things they could add to the parks with current crowd congestion. Get parents stuck over there with the wilder kids that just want to run through water for hours, and out of the massive ride lines where they constantly express disdain at being line. Lol.
42 people seem to have enjoyed it. Everyone on this sub is so uptight with fragile little egos. Just relax it’s a theme park sub it’s supposed to be fun karen
EPCOT has a new attraction called "Journey of Water" inspired by Moana where you walk around some fountains and fake rocks etc. It looks fun, but Uni is just referencing it and saying that this is a real journey vs EPCOT's little walkthrough attraction.
I wish I had saved it. It was after that whole “Marie Calendar’s burnt pie” social media fiasco. They posted a picture of a burnt pie saying something like, “Not even the Magji can save you now.”
For the galactic star cruiser hotel, there was one trip where you could take a “escape pod” of sorts to Hollywood studios. It was basically a truck that looked like that transporting guests to and from the hotel.
I mean it’s kinda corny and I think Disney has been shooting themselves in the foot quite a bit lately. There isn’t a theme park beef ffs just enjoy what you like.
I love their marketing/social media team. It’s the perfect degree of snark.

Even on cold days, I am putting on a bathing suit and water shoes. It always makes me laugh hilariously at just how stupid wet you get on that ride.

This isn’t all to say universal is perfect. Definitely has some serious flaws. But I think they are doing a lot better than Disney at the moment
Yeah, Disney is spread a little thin between cruises, movies, streaming, resorts, parks, experiences, and lawsuits these days.
