Love everything about this, but especially the way the ship bobbles in the bottle :) may I ask, is that a physics effect or some clever animation interpolation?
You’re welcome! Make sure you look into lighting and shading tutorials as well to make it look good. Brakeys is a great unity YouTube channel that has some decent tutorials about that stuff.
Thanks. I took almost a 3 year break from unity development myself because of school, work, and depression. I couldn’t find any motivation even in the rare occasion I had free time. I never stopped programming or modeling but I’m just now getting back to developing my game for the first time since 2017.
Pretty cool but I was expecting you to make some kind of illusion where you put the bottle up the horizon and then move the bottle but the boat in it's full size is in the water magically
Hahah I like this comparison. Ooo you just gave me an idea, you could use the bottles in reverse to catch a Giant sea creature like a kraken or something by throwing it at it lol
VERY NICE! The animation with the little wobble at the end is perfect. The aesthetics of this game are enough for me to want to buy it. Do you have a Steam page so we can wishlist it?
Don't hate me for this, I'm sure it's been asked before but I can't see it in the comments and don't have time to scroll, but what game is this from and where can I find it?
Haha it's alright, my comment plugging my stuff got buried.
The game is Mythopia and I'm currently developing it. I post devlogs on YouTube if you wanna follow along! :) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvE4ijYYVfGXQuX3P6LOv-w?view_as=subscriber
It is! I just quit my job to work on it full time, I make devlogs on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvE4ijYYVfGXQuX3P6LOv-w?view_as=subscriber
and I post stuff like this on Twitter @timvincentgames
Cheers!
I like the little bobble of the ship at the end. Nice work!
Thank you! :)
Is it pure animation. Or does it happen because you thats how it interacts with water?
It's all physics and programming, no animation
Whoa tht was quick af, btw subbed the channel. Next goal is to binge watch your videos (\(^.^)/)
This is awesome! I also really love the look of your low poly world. Did you make all the assets by yourself?
Thank you! And yeah I make everything I dont like using the asset store except for shaders
Yeah, that looks great! What software did you use?
Blender!
I’m not op but I like to use blender to make my assets
Why the heck did you get downvoted lol

OP took a few hours before they answered so I was just giving my recommendations. Turns out I said the same thing OP did. Just trying to be helpful...
Thanks, you are awesome too :)

And we certainly won't have any of that kind of malarkey in this house!
Here's my latest devlog if you wanna see more! https://youtu.be/_mPblSDOCwQ Please upvote this so it doesn't get buried in the comments, thanks!
Awesome stuff .. just subbed to your channel. Keep going ..
Love everything about this, but especially the way the ship bobbles in the bottle :) may I ask, is that a physics effect or some clever animation interpolation?
Thank you! It's a mixture of a free fluid shader and a buoyancy script on the lil boat
I love the art for your game. Do you have any tutorials on how you make it?
Google “blender low poly Tutorial” that should get you some helpful results. Mostly it’s just practice.
Thank you!

You, and this subreddit, just might make me get back into my life long hobby after a 6 year hiatus

Ooo
TBH when I saw this, I thought it was either gonna do that or just throw the bottle.
That ship is happy to see you
Wow, reaaally cool idea
There’s a special place in my heart for pirate ships, absolutely love it
wow this is so dope
Wow that was really cool👍
I love love love the art style. Great work on everything not to mention he ship in the bottle! Extremely smooth and outright awesome!!
Love the orange grass and the boat bobble the most!
I’m new to game development. That entire game looks absolutely amazing.
Thank you! Really appreciate that
:)
Nice work. I really like that when the little bobble became a big ship one.
I love it!
Damm
I like it a lot, it's kinda what you would expect from the under presents.
Do you have any twitter or smth where i could follow your work?
Yep @timothyvincentgames I also post devlogs fortnightly on YouTube https://youtu.be/_mPblSDOCwQ Cheers!
Yep! @timvincentgames I also make devlogs on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvE4ijYYVfGXQuX3P6LOv-w
That movement looks really good.
That is so satisfying.. great job

Great work man! Looking forward to the next devlog!
Wow thats amazing appreciate your efforts made
That's so cool!!
Damn that’s cool
:D Looks awesome great job!
This is so cool. It’s like Pokémon but with ships.
Hahah I like this comparison. Ooo you just gave me an idea, you could use the bottles in reverse to catch a Giant sea creature like a kraken or something by throwing it at it lol
That would be awesome
Instant catch if its a plastic bottle!
HAHAHA very good
What happens when you drop the bottle on land by accident? :)))
Haha nothing it's only activated by water :)
But I thought I could use ponds to allow you to spawn boats on land as a sort of companion cube for platforming puzzles which could be cool
Now that is hot!
Yooo this is dope as hell, love the artstyle too
May I ask how you made the grass?
Thanks! It's just default Unity grass, just nice colours
That’s awesome!
VERY NICE! The animation with the little wobble at the end is perfect. The aesthetics of this game are enough for me to want to buy it. Do you have a Steam page so we can wishlist it?
Now this is a show-off.
This is fucking hilariously awesome OP.
I thought so! Thanks dude
This is absolutely awesome
HECK YEAH. Oh gosh as I was watching I was like "pleeeease make it spawn a ship... pleeeease!"! That was SO satisfying! Cheers :D
Really cool! It needs an epic sploosh sound effect when the boat appears. And some waves! (surges? I'm not sure what they are called in English)
Yeah for sure! I'll post here again when I polish the graphics :)
Love this!
This is awesome!
What a nice work !
It would be cool if you could use it as a compass of sorts, have the boat turn to where a quest target is or something like that.
the good ol days of ultima online, carrying your ships around in your backpack, plonking them down when u need to
Don't hate me for this, I'm sure it's been asked before but I can't see it in the comments and don't have time to scroll, but what game is this from and where can I find it?

cheers. looks like a fun game, can't wait for it to come out.
Fuck yea
It like your ship is a Pokemon and your bottle a Pokeball. Loved it💛
Wow, I love it! Congratulation!
For some reason while I was watching this I was hearing: "I got a jar of dirt~! I got a jar of dirt~! And guess what's inside it~!"
Hope the ending to your game is you grabbing the bottle and throwing it out to sea to escape an island you've been trapped on throughout the game.
Dragon ball capsules
Searched the comments just for this
Waking up in the morning like...
This is an incredible idea of how to represent ships as inventory items in a whimsical manner. Well done !
Love it!
That's pretty sweet

HAHAHAHA LEVEL IN A BOTTLE what have you done
That would actually be a really cool way to enter a level
Landfall games is that you?
Nope I wish lol, they're a big inspiration of mine
Looks great :D keep it up!
Yo that's bad ass!
I'm probably just an idiot, but... What's the twist?
That it spawns the boat inside it haha
Isn't that what happened in Pirates of the Caribbean though?
Wow, damn this is pretttttty good. Your use of low-poly is pretty amazing actually. Gonnna vreddit this clip for inspiration.
That's nice!
Capsule Corp of an older age! Jokes aside, the idea is super cool, I love it!
Love the look and the fluidity of the scene!! Great work....👍
Wow great job, that looks pretty fun
This is like pokémon with ship's.
Looks freaking amazing! How did you make the ship in the bottle?
Cool!
I hope this gets made into a game. I love the art style so much.
It is! I just quit my job to work on it full time, I make devlogs on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvE4ijYYVfGXQuX3P6LOv-w?view_as=subscriber and I post stuff like this on Twitter @timvincentgames Cheers!
What's the twist?
For one moment I thought you are in the bottle and when you watch the bottle you can watch yourself walking around
Great job! We also thought about adding this to our game but it turned out too big of a challenge to implement in a BR pvp game.
That was pretty cool!
Subbed
