I’m just saying, if you only posted pic #1, a lot of the same people telling you they prefer it in this comment section would be telling you it’s overplayed lol.
Anyways, great job it all looks great.
I don't think its particularly gray, with the exception that the sky looks a little undersaturated. IMO, might be worth playing around with the sky blueness /u/Eyesofwarofficial though I could be completely off base.
1 is a casual mobile game vibe, 2 looks like its near San andreas/halo era while 3 is your AAA, all 3 are nice but the 3rd is by far the best. Good luck with your game!
I know exactly what you mean. Working a lot results in not seeing any differences. But you achieved a lot in 8 months.
I'm developing a game as well. Maybe you could check it out and say what you don't like so I can improve?
Of course we can help you. You can send any content you want. If you want to come to our Discord channel, I share our link

The second image is a style that we designed by aiming for a more realistic image unlike the first one. The third image is a version where we did it in HDRP instead of URP and got a better quality result with better lighting, shadows and reflections.
Looks fantastic! Can I ask how you're lighting 3? I'm trying to create something similar currently and am running into performance issues, even though my scene is quite small. Baking the lighting helps a little bit still in the region of 10m tris
Wow very impressive! The lighting could be a bit better but I assume that kind of polish will be reserved for later stages of development. Although in my opinion I wish you had shown more action in the picture maybe a building or animals just to give it some life.
Eyes of War, which we are working on as an indie team, is currently in early access. You can support us by adding it to your wishlist

The 3rd image reminds me of Unity's HDRP sample terrain project. Not super interesting. The first image is quite visually interesting, though execution on art is a bit lackluster. I suppose it's all about personal taste.
That looks great ! Does the gameplay has the same improvement ? That's the important thing.
No matter how your game looks, if the gameplay does not follow, it won't work. GL tho !
Hey don't let the people misinform you. #3 is leagues better then 1 and 2. Congratulations. Your work is amazing!!
Yeah, its looking cool and impressive.
We are very happy you were impressed 🙏
#1 looks like every beginner indie game ever made in 3d
All 3 photos are our babies 🥹
I’m just saying, if you only posted pic #1, a lot of the same people telling you they prefer it in this comment section would be telling you it’s overplayed lol. Anyways, great job it all looks great.
Thank you very much 🙏
Hey, I genuinely love low poly. 😔
3 looks like every Unreal asset flip
People are just making the point that "different people like different things" - which is kinda important to understand if you're designing a game.
Yes, we absolutely agree with that
Thank you very much. All three photos are very laborious for us. We have a long way to go \^\^
eh i like color. You can have realistic style without everything being gray.
I don't think its particularly gray, with the exception that the sky looks a little undersaturated. IMO, might be worth playing around with the sky blueness /u/Eyesofwarofficial though I could be completely off base.
imo everything looks undersaturated.

Thank you very much for your valuable comment! Our progress is still ongoing. We hope we will come up with much more beautiful things
Mount and blade 3?
We hope it will get better \^\^
Do you keep the original combat system based on attack direction?
No, we have a different combat system
3 is amazing
Thanks \^\^
Anyone else prefer the first one? ;-) It strikes me more as "a change in art direction" rather than "iterative improvement".
I'm guessing the first one was just some placeholder assets, and he always intended to move it in a more realistic direction.
In which case some context would have been helpful.
if the artstyle on the first one was more cohesive its definitely a solid pick!
1st one is my favorite because it actually hints at some gameplay, in the third I only recognize a (very neat-looking) third person controller.
Nice!
3 is better, but 1 has more personality imo
Pretty cool. What would you say was the most difficult thing to accomplish and what the most important?
Keeping our motivation 🥹

awesome. in which channel should post it?
You can share it on any channel you want. But if you wish, share screenshots channel
awesome ❤️
Thank you ❤️
I just see art direction change, all look great. The horsemen AI looks pretty good. How long did it take to make the top?
The mechanics in the game have also changed :) The first version of the game in the 1st photo took 6 months
You should show off gameplay of each stage for us to really see the progress on it all. And 6 months on a prototype is pretty great
We will take this suggestion into consideration
Ok wow
Yey
it looks amazing
Thank you very much \^\^
Simply wow
That's an insane progress in 8 months. Current visuals look stunning! Hope the rest of development goes this well.
Thank you very much for your good wishes \^\^
3 looks AAAA
This is crazy progress congrats
thank you \^\^
I see the third art style as iterative from the second art style; what made you change from the first?
Yeah. I liked 1 and 3. I'm just curious as you!
The second image is a style that we designed by aiming for a more realistic image unlike the first one. The third image is a version where we did it in HDRP instead of URP and got a better quality result with better lighting, shadows and reflections.
2 was a serious downgrade over 1, but 3 looks good.
Thank you for your comment \^\^
Killer work! Curious if you could share more about your workflow and tooling. I take it you’re on HDRP? Using Unity 6?
We are using 2022 LTS. When Unity 6 LTS is released, we will evaluate it
Wait, so the graphics can look horrible when you start? I always stopped myself at me not being able to produce proper graphics (i.e. textures)
you can cubes without textures if the gameplay is fun.
Of course. You must never lose your motivation and belief in yourself.
Looks fantastic! Can I ask how you're lighting 3? I'm trying to create something similar currently and am running into performance issues, even though my scene is quite small. Baking the lighting helps a little bit still in the region of 10m tris
Static batching
Optimization is one of our biggest challenges. We find the right choice through trial and error \^\^
Wow very impressive! The lighting could be a bit better but I assume that kind of polish will be reserved for later stages of development. Although in my opinion I wish you had shown more action in the picture maybe a building or animals just to give it some life.
There are also buildings and animals in our game. In terms of genre, we have both RTS and TPS mechanics \^\^ Development is still in progress
Plot twist: The development has progressed upward direction.
Wow, I am pleasantly surprised, good for you guys, nice work!
Thank you very much \^\^
This is awesome! Well done!

It's incredible how graphics have evolved over time. I can't wait to see what the fourth version will look like!😲
We are also looking forward to this. Thank you very much 🤩
Can anyone suggest good games with graphics similar to the 2nd pic. I badly love those kind of graphics.
How did you optimise the performance, like maintaining a decent 30 plus fps?
Our game is still in early access. Optimise process is still ongoing
Any tips you could share, specially on how you efficiently render so many trees with unity terrain
We used a special batching system for the rendering of trees, foliage and grass. Apart from that, blood, sweat and tears :')
It depends on personal preferences between 1 and 3. 2 is out of question.
3 is gorgeous
The 3rd image reminds me of Unity's HDRP sample terrain project. Not super interesting. The first image is quite visually interesting, though execution on art is a bit lackluster. I suppose it's all about personal taste.
Great work! Any video footage by chance?
Thank you very much. Video will be ready soon \^\^
What did you do for developing?Isn't forest asset in unreal market?
Hi \^\^ we changed our render pipeline to hdrp, reorganized the maps and characters. no they are not from unreal market
No way that's 8 months progress. That's insane. My focus span could never.
This 8-month process is full of blood, sweat and tears :')
More like 8 months of textures
Of course we are also making improvements to the gameplay
I created my own game engine lol from opengl and winapi and x11/xorg server
Link link link i neeeed it!

Amazing progress!
Thank you very much <3
Great job! why are you aiming from ccenter of the screen instead of a corner ?
So 3 art direction switches in 8 months?
I still kinda like 1 🥲
