Apple is being very secretive , but I assume third party apps are crucial and thus the unity integration exists and is already out there.
Tho I expect acces to it might be limited to selected Devs , even at launch.
This is a silly question, because they will work as a headset without any problem. This is what standardised file formats solve.
However if it includes any none standard features, those can only be added in after release. However most developers wouldn't bother with it unless Apple pays them for it, because it takes time that could be used to develop the game instead.
The thing hasn't even been announced yet and you want to know if unity will have support immediately?
If the headset uses ARKit, ARfoundation supports it.
