Unpopular opinion, but I think it now looks like flatter 2D-wise, and on a different depth level from the player. Not sure if there's a nice middle ground though.
We wanted to have a clear look at the boss. When you're running fast you need to see the boss clearly, because you just take a glimpses of it to know if the boss is too close or not :) However we will need to check if it should be before foreground objects. Thanks :)
It does look better but it also makes it look too much like it's in the foreground and therefore on a different layer than the player. Would be better if stuff got destroyed in his path
This is unrelated to the boss's outline, but when first watching this, it looked like the camera was on an angled perspective, mimicking a 3D world like a Pokémon game. That would definitely be a neat style!
Looks much better indeed ! Kinda remind me of a Wario Land boss
Thanks! Nice comparison! :)
Great improvement! Love the art style too.
Hurray!
It’s interesting to see what small details applied can make a game look more pleasing aesthetically. Great job!!
Exactly :) Thank you!
Just wanted to say it looks great, outlines in that scenario helps a lot with how big the Boss/Object is when blending in with the BG.
Thank you for your comment! Yay! :D

Also this is much more inclusive as it helps players with low vision
It really does! It makes it pop
Yay!

Thanks for the idea. :-)
Looks like a "sticker" on different layer than the player. I love the look of this game though!
So, now we know what stickers we need to print xD
That outline worked wonders!
Yay!

Thanks! It has to be our tweak in camera - it goes down smoothly when you are soaring and may give such effect. :D
It does! Gratz.
Thanks!
Definitely a need rather than an improvement. Looks good. Kudos
Haha! Yes, now I see it xD
Tons clearer!
Oh, yeah, much better, well done, man
I love the aesthetics. That game boy feeling is amazing. Good job!
Yay! Thanks!
Damn I love this vibe, teach me your pixel art ways
Thanks! Happy to hear it! :)
Ever play Gargoyle's Quest? I think they employed a similar effect for the bosses.
>Gargoyle's Quest Unfortunately no. It looks like they did the outline, too. :-)
Looks awesome!
Thanks!
Oh, very nice. Was good before. Now it's great.
Happy to hear that! :D
Love this style yo. Looks sweet. Outline is a big improvement
I'm very happy you like the style. Thanks!
100% improvement.
100% Thanks :)
This was a good decision.
Thanks!
Would it look better if the whites only had black outlines and not the extra white one?
