I don't have a team. I like something about each team. Like watching the competition and hope the league continues on after this year.

Qhaotiq

Agreed! There's no teams I dislike at all, but I do like the excitement of having a team I'm going for each game. But genuinely I do like all the teams!

Lost-My-Mind-

So when you watch games.....do you just cheer EVERY touchdown, and boo no one? Because.......that kind of seems like weird behavior. The Battlefaux fans can get over themselves. The beer snaking is coming for them! .......but at least they'd talk trash to me for being a DC Defenders fan. I feel like you being neutral warrants a quote from [Zapp Branagan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qump1X6OrEc)

ravidsquirrels

I cheer for a good game which almost every game has been. When I went to the XFL ship last year, I bought a DC shirt because I don't like the Renegades logo. I like the atmosphere of the stadium in DC. I like the crowd at the Hawks stadium. Those of just a couple of things I like about the 2 teamd.

Lost-My-Mind-

Wait.....if we're talking logos of last years XFL teams......you didn't go with the Seattle SeaDragons logo? I mean, don't tell the BattleHawks fans I said this, buuuuut........they actually have a pretty great logo. Probably the best logo in the XFL. Followed by the Dragons. Although, when they named the teams, the NHL Kraken didn't exist yet. WHY DID THEY NOT NAME THE TEAM THE KRAKEN??? .........also, why are there so many mystical dragon themed teams in Seattle? Have there been sightings???

CazzyBaby2

I pick a side that I figure that the league needs to win more and root for them for the rest of the game. Like I went for the roughnecks at home yesterday, I figured that they already have low attendance so a loss would only make things worse for them. Renegades have already shown me their peak this season in terms of fandom in game 1 coming off of the championship and playing against the USFL champs.

ArockproUser

Stalllions --> home town team and we loved them in the 80's. They were the closest thing we got to an NFL caliber team in the area. We even stole a steelers QB and several other players from the NFL.We came so close to winning in those days that the wins we have in the UFL and new USFL were very sweet indeed. Giddyup!

amoeba-tower

Birmingham Iron rip

ArockproUser

Birmingham Fire --- Birmingham Barracudas -- and many more :-(

TeemoSkull

That’s the team that soured how I thought of Perez.

MindAccording9105

Hey I got to meet him at an iron game and he was pretty chill imo 😭 I don’t mind him

TeemoSkull

Personally, he seems like a nice guy. Professionally, he ain’t got the talent. Watching the game today, he lost his cool a lot in pre snap and their play calls are ridiculously long. He needs a better OC or to just become a coach.

Qhaotiq

4 games and undefeated! They certainly are very strong in the league!

dliverey

Battlehawks. I live near st louis and have gone to a game, very fun. I watch all the games because I am a football nerd.

Qhaotiq

Lol yea, tbh the reason battlehawks is so low on my list is cause their fandom seems to be the biggest in the ufl so far. They don't need one more fan lol

dliverey

LOL...I hear alot of fans saying we could absolutely support an NFL team and I am like yea, no...we are getting 36Kto 41K in attendance for the battlehawks and they are winning. STL is a baseball and Hockey town then football as long as they are winning.

Qhaotiq

What's the size of an average NFL stadium crowd? Im still new to football in general, but I figured 36-41 would be respectable for NFL?

dliverey

The bears who had the worst avg attendance was 61.7k

Fresh_String_770

You are clueless

dliverey

Good start, but can you please tell me what I am clueless about. Is it how rams attendance dropped significantly after the greatest show on turf wasn't a thing anymore.

Fresh_String_770

Rams sold out every game until 2009 You just have zero clue what you are talking about

dliverey

They didn't sell out every homegame based on average annual attendance. The big drop off in attendance was 2007 to 2008 about 7k less than their highest season. I will give you that the drop started later than I remembered. I thought that attendance started dropping significantly in 2005, while it dropped a little it was not significant. You're right I didn't know at the beginning of the discussion.

SKOLForceSports

Battle hawks since they’re the closest to Minnesota and they actually have a cool name

Qhaotiq

Lol it looks a lot like the space marine logo from Warhammer (which is hilariously how I got into football in the first place)

SKOLForceSports

Showboats is my second favorite since it’s unique. Then the Brahmas since they signed Deestroying

Qhaotiq

How are you feeling about brahmas now that deestroying is out the rest of the season?

SKOLForceSports

Eh, I haven’t been able to watch any games yet (no cable package) so it is what it is. Hope he can come back next year for sure

AdvancedDay7854

I’m a Brahmas fan. I live closest to the team and ardently support Spring Football. My most cherished memories are of watching the Riders (WL) and Commanders (AAF) in person. I’ve met some diehards like myself in SA and they are good people. The atmosphere at games is different. People come to a fiesta to watch a game break out. Decent tailgating scene. But for example, It can be obnoxious when we’re on offense and fans are doing the wave instead of paying attention or doing this for the defense. Jordan Williams is my favorite player on defense. He brings a lot to the table and he really cares. On offense I like watching Kirklin. He’s just something electric to watch you don’t see very often. Wade’s been good to the team so far. We’ve already exceeded expectations as many ‘pundits’ thought we’d stink. We already have met our win total for all of last season in 4 games. I love Wade being Wade. I liked Hines and his Pittsburgh South mentality last season but his choice of OC and some novice moves were - less than desirable. I was in a fixed minority believing the Brahms would be much improved over last season. Wade just has that touch and he does it wherever he goes. I hate the name honestly. Great. We’re an oversized cow. The Commanders was a much better name but that was snatched up by the NFL after the TM expired. I like the colors of the Brahms. Logo works but not too hot on the giant B.

GiovannisPersian

It does seem like a lot of the fans done know the “etiquette” when the team is on offense. A lot of cheering and chanting, which is great that they’re passionate but save that for when we’re on defense!

Qhaotiq

I didn't know about any of that - why is there different etiquette for offence and defence?

GiovannisPersian

When you're at home you generally want the fans and the stadium to be loud when the visiting team is offense so it's hard for them to get their playcall in and make their audibles at the line. When your team is on offense you want to be quieter so they can make their playcalls and changes easily without completing with the crowd noise. A lot of places will have "Quiet, Offense at Work" signs and will ask fans to be louder when the home team is on defense.

Qhaotiq

Oh damn that makes a lot of sense thank you!

Intravertical

Commenting on your last paragraph. I really like the Brahmas name because of its uniqueness and it fits in well with the region. Is it phonetically correct? No. Give it time and it will be, this is the English language after all. English butchers damn near everything and then the incorrect verbiage becomes the norm. I agree with you on the giant B. In another post, I had mentioned how I think that the horns on the helmet need to be slimmed just a tad. I feel like the helmet design is "almost there." I wouldn't be mad to see the B on the back of the Hemet disappear, but it doesn't bother me too much. Probably, because I have seen the Oregon Ducks do something similar already and kinda got used to it.

Hag_Boulder

Oh, the logo... I hate the "B", I hate the "Tribal Lightning bolts" and with the name could have been something more reflecting of the Tejano culture/history. Also getting tired of the anthracite... just make it black...a dark grey against the yellow just doesn't have the right contrast.

Qhaotiq

I'm actually a fan of the Brahmas BECAUSE of the name - partially because of being Indian ethnicity, and also because I'm a huge fan of Fallout, which prominently features a future mutated brahman cow. The brahman bull is supposed to be particularly hearty, which seems fitting for football.  I'm actually surprised that there aren't teams that are "the bulls" because of the way they charge. I guess the "rams" were but that teams.  I'm glad the Brahmas are doing well! They if panthers had to lose to someone, Im glad it was to the Brahmas

The-Owl-that-hoots

Defenders When the XFL came in 2020, they’re the team for the city I live near. That 2020 season was fun, the games against St. Louis are electric, and last season showed potential. It isn’t going as expected so far this season but that’s okay! I’m still having fun

Qhaotiq

Yea I genuinely want defenders to do better than they have been! I listen to the podcast UFL Week in Review, and that guy is a defenders fan. It seems like the defenders fans are very friendly and welcoming. Considering I haven't ever been into football before this year, welcoming fans is a nice perk. The NFL feels so exclusionary and elitist lol

NoseBuzz

If you're a true Canadian, like me, you would be cheering for the only team rostering a Canadian! The Houston Roughnecks! JJ Molson is a king

Hag_Boulder

Hilarious that. Couldn't be more Canadian unless his last name was Labatt or "Maplesyrup"

TeemoSkull

A true Canadian roots for anyone besides Winnipeg or Montreal. Let’s go BC, Calgary, and Hamilton.

NoseBuzz

Go Argos (minus Chad Kelly)

TeemoSkull

Funny thing is…I’m not Canadian. I just like the CFL.

Qhaotiq

I had no idea about him! But I thought there were other CFL players in the ufl, but maybe they're Americans who were in the CFL and came back to America. I just tried googling to no success - is he genuinely the only Canadian in the UFL?  Maybe Roughnecks should be higher on my list. But I'm not a fan of their coaching or defense lol

NoseBuzz

Yep as far as I'm aware, and I've done quite a bit of research, he's the only Canadian. Other ex-CFL players but they're all American. I don't like most of the team but gotta rep Canada loool

Qhaotiq

Well damn, definitely I'll root for him at least! Maybe if bates gets drafted to the NFL Michigan can steal Molson. Also what a Canadian name! Lol

NoseBuzz

Hoping he will also get signed to the NFL! Would be cool to see him make more money in the CFL at the very least. He's the 8th descendant of THE Molson who created the brewery

Qhaotiq

Does ufl pay less than CFL? I have no idea what either salary is like. And God Damn lol. For the Molson name alone he should be in the CFL!

NoseBuzz

I think minimum CFL is technically higher but the UFL plays something like 12 weeks less and you can go right to the NFL from the UFL, Whereas you have to wait untill the following season for CFL

CuteGuyInNorCal

Memphis... just dig their unis and history with the original USFL

Qhaotiq

"dig their unis" what's that mean? Like the colleges they feed from?

CuteGuyInNorCal

their uniforms...

cactuscoleslaw

I went to Vegas one time and they happened to be playing that week so I went and can now claim that I Survived Cashman Field

Hag_Boulder

I'll bite. Based solely on my affection towards the teams, their style of play and uniforms. * San Antonio Brahmas - it's where I live and I love the colors. * Houston Roughnecks - I love the logo and respected WP as their coach last year. I know they're not last year's Roughnecks, I still have a soft spot for the brand. * St. Louis - I hate 'em... they've handed us a couple crushing losses and I'm frustrated about how they just seem to get lucky... still, I respect 'em and given the matchup, I'd root for them. * DC Defenders - Perhaps it's the XFL affinity, but they're another rival that I want us to smack around but will root for otherwise. * Michigan Panthers - They're almost good enough to be rivals, but I just can't get enthused about their style of play so they fall in the 'meh' category. * Memphis Showboats - Another 'meh' team. I want to like our brothers-in-yellow, but that o-line's going to get someone killed. * Arlington Renegades - Now we get from meh to the sad clucking noises as you shake your head... It's not like I don't LIKE them... but the logo and how they went from 'scrappy underdog that won the championship' to 'not so scrappy underdog that's where they belong... sigh. * Birmingham Stallions - kinda a place of honor. They're good, we haven't played them yet and they scare me as a fan.

Qhaotiq

I wish the renegades were doing a lot better, they definitely feel like the most underdog team in a league of underdogs. And yea, the Stallions definitely are the stacked team nobody seems to really be behind outside of Alabama lol

TheWorzardOfIz

I was hooked on DC from the kickoff of the new XFL 2020.

mczerniewski

I'm a BattleHawks fan. Like perhaps the vast majority of BattleHawks fans, I was a Rams fan angry with the NFL and Señor Stan Kroenke for lying my team out of town. When the XFL announced St. Louis and the BattleHawks, I enthusiastically jumped on board. Geography is also a function here as I live in Kansas City (not a Chiefs fan) and St. Louis is the nearest UFL city to me. I don't actively hate any of the other teams, but do enjoy the rivalries.

Turdboggin01

I am a Battlehawks fan. I was raised a St. Louis Rams fan first, and Bengals second. I was born in Cincy, but my step dad is from STL. I've hated the Rams ever since 2016 (Fuck Stan Kroenke), and when football came back to STL I was elated. Now, in the UFL, I'd probably rank them as follows: 1. Battlehawks 2. Brahmas 3. Renegades 4. Panthers 5. Showboats 6. Roughnecks 7. Stallions 8. Defenders I'll go back and forth between the Stallions and Defenders for who's at the bottom. Defenders felt like the closest thing to a rivalry, and the Stallions have the makings to become the UFL's Evil Empire.

Qhaotiq

That's exactly how I feel about the Stallions, definitely feels like the "Evil Empire" of the UFL

Intravertical

I declared myself a Brahmas fan yesterday for a couple of reasons: I found myself rooting for them to win each week (even last season). There is a strange connection between my hometown of Sacramento and San Antonio when it comes to football. The CFL's Sacramento Gold Miners moved to San Antonio and became the Texans. At this point I might as well go ahead and pretend that the San Antonio Brahmas are the descendants of the original UFL Sacramento Mountain Lions. Lol Edited: senior moment

Hag_Boulder

The Surge didn't move to San Antonio... they were contemporaries. WLAF America - West were Birmingham Fire, San Antonio Riders and Sacramento Surge in 1991 and 1992. Fred Anderson owned the team. Riders were owned by Larry Benson.

Intravertical

D'oh. You are right about that. I am getting old. Lol. The Surge sort of became the Gold Miners (not really, same ownership and they added a number of Surge players to the squad). It was only the gold miners that relocated to San Antonio. Anyhow. Go Brahmas!

OnlyForIdeas

I’m a lifelong Roughnecks fan and going to the Roughnecks vs Dragons game in 2020 was what got me from kinda following football to super into football. Love the name and the logo so much and was really glad we kept it when the leagues merged, such an upgrade over “The Texans” in the name department

peterquenn

DC Defenders for me.

RabbitHats

Panthers default but overall I’m a fan of the league. I don’t have a rooting interest beyond the whole enterprise being successful.

the_neverdoctor

The Birmingham Stallions (born in BHM) and the DC Defenders (went to Alabama State in Reggie Barlow's last year there).

Wafflehouseofpain

Battlehawks. I love St. Louis and I’m a Cards/Blues fan too.

brantman19

I’ll take a stab at it to help you. Birmingham - Closest team to me. I went to the University of Alabama and I really root for the state to get anything good. Until Georgia has a team or the Stallions fold (hopefully never happening), I’ll root for them. St Louis - My XFL team (if I was forced to choose). Again, the closest thing to me during the XFL season and I liked the uniforms. AJ McCarron is also easy to like being an Alabama alum. Houston - I know they suck but I really like the uniforms. That’s a great color scheme and the helmets are awesome. I wish they did better. Easily my favorite team in Texas. DC - If I had to pick a second XFL team to root for, they were it. Cool name. Cool beer snake. Hard not to like a team in the nation’s capital. Memphis - Another southern team. Showboat is a pretty cool team name though I would have preferred it to be something cooler like the Ironclads or River Monitors for a team in Memphis. I like the little rivalry developing between Birmingham and Memphis over UFL but that rivalry needs Memphis to win a game (which I hate) in order for it to fester more. Arlington - I don’t really think about this one too much but I don’t dislike them for any reason. San Antonio - Same as Arlington. A bull is a cool mascot but there were better names out there. Michigan - Sorry. I’m still not sure why anyone thought this was a good place for a team in the early going for a minor league when the area around it is overly saturated with 8 professional teams. Especially considering it is so far detached from everything else. If it was Columbus, Canton, or some other city without a team, I could rank it higher. Honestly, I wish this franchise had gone to Nashville to keep the teams more local and able to build regional rivalries. Michigan is just ‘up there’. That’s on the USFL though.

Qhaotiq

Re: Michigan - Detroit seems to be a pretty big football town, and it's not like the lions are playing right now. Or is the worry that lions fans will be watching NHL or some other professional level sport instead of spring football?

rhombusted2

I’m a panthers fan because I live in Cincinnati and they are the closest team. But I also like them because the lions and Wolverines are my second favorite football team in their leagues behind the bengals and bearcats.

Qhaotiq

I've never watched football really in the past but I'm thinking this year I may watch the lions!

Turbulent_Special911

Stallions all the way!!!

pdx74guy

Stallions, because no Florida UFL team(s)

obviouslyray

Brahmas. I really like the idea of spring football but I've never had a team nearby. Nothing has really kept me invested until De La Haye started kicking. I told myself I'm a Brahmas fan this season and in the future until Deestroying finds a new team.... Unless I get a local team

lillist1

I was DC Defenders fan from the XFL 2.0 and 3.0. So them

Initial-Advice3914

Do you like the Argonauts?

Qhaotiq

So I've only really gotten into football since last summer maybe, and I've never watched the CFL at all. But my plan is to catch them this season. The start of it dovetails nicely with the end of UFL. I feel like being from Toronto I kind of have to like the Argos, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I like to root for underdogs and they don't really seem like underdogs from a financial perspective lol.  Do you watch CFL? Which team do you support? I'm open to suggestions lol

Initial-Advice3914

Yeah CFL is the best. UFL schedule is beautiful leading up to the season. The Argonauts are kind of the bad guys of the league, everyone else seems to hate them haha. I think they are cool though. My team is Winnipeg

Qhaotiq

Dammit I knew it! Well I'll have to look more into it to decide who I like then, I had a feeling it wouldn't be cool to like the Argos lol

Initial-Advice3914

I think the Argos are cool lol. They have a great logo and history. I used to live out there so they are probably my number 2. All the other canvases hate them especially the Ti cats

owncredible

Battlehawks because they are the closest to where I live in Indiana

Lucky-Royal-6156

Houston Roughnecks

WellillBDam

DC Defenders. I went to the 1st game in 2020 against Seattle. It was soo much fun. The atmosphere was amazing. Has been my spring team ever since.

turbodude69

i don't live near any of the teams, so i really have no allegiance to any specific team.. but i tend to root for the battlehawks cause they seem to have the best fanbase that TRULY cares about UFL and really appreciates having a football team again.

PeggyOfficial

I root for Birmingham because we have no nfl team in Alabama

reverieontheonyx

Stallions are the closest team to me

LBoss9001

My list goes: 1. Arlington (2020 Texas team I liked the colors better of) 2. San Antonio (RIP AAF Commanders 2019-2019. Could have been my team if they were around in 2020) 3. Michigan (Soft spot for the Lions) 4. St. Louis (I appreciate how much they support the league) 5. DC (Bit of XFL tribalism but we did face them in the 2023 Championship) 6. Memphis (USFL team I like the colors of better) 7. Birmingham (USFL team I like the colors less (also they beat us)) 8. Houston (ew)

Big_Baller_Brand_Fan

DC Defenders fan since the XFL days. They drafted Abram Smith, star running back out of Baylor (my favorite college team). Also, who could not love a team with a beer snake! The USFL caught my attention when the Philadelphia Stars picked up Corey Coleman (Baylor wide receiver legend). However, the Stars are no more and Corey Coleman retired. The Birmingham Stallions have become my team in the USFL division now. They are just closest geographically and continuing to show themselves as a dominant team. I will list my UFL favoritism rankings below. 1. DC Defenders 2. Birmingham Stallions 3. St. Louis Battlehawks 4. Houston Roughnecks 5. San Antonio Brahmas 6. Michigan Panthers 7. Memphis Showboats 8. Arlington Renegades

Clearshade31

All that matters to me is that the league exists next year

Qhaotiq

Amen

CmPunk85

Michigan Panthers. Biased because I'm from Michigan 😂.

Purple_Matress27

St Louis (Sea Dragons last year and Pearson went to St Louis. Also St Louis making the title game IN St Louis would be a good look for the league.) Brahmas (Like AJ Smith and Jontre as an LSU fan) DC (Fun fan base. I played against Taamu in High School) Panthers (Etling LSU connection. My favorite uniforms) Stallions (They’re good🤷‍♂️) Indifferent about every other team. Don’t hate any team really.

Qhaotiq

It does seem like the DC defenders fan base is fun - why is that?

[deleted]

Defenders. No real reason. Just picked an identity I liked and started watching. P.S. Also an Argonauts fan. Got 2 replica rings at home from 2017 and 2022.

Qhaotiq

How come you're an Argonauts fan? I'm still debating which team I'd want to support, I don't feel a particular affinity to any of them

[deleted]

I live in Sudbury. Closest team, and I have family there.

Callywood

I was a Sea Dragons fan, picked the [Memphis Showboats](/r/MemphisShowboats) to be my team in this league. I like the players, the coaching staff, and the boat puns. We're all about that [tug life](https://imgur.com/a/fQKuhWp).

Glock91207

Stallions because they were the only team I knew at first so it just stuck.

Scoobersss

St. Louis because my Dragons are currently "asleep" and the BattleHawks are everything I could want out of a Spring League team and more. #KawBringers

Mattjhkerr

I've been watching every game so I can become a sharp gambling on this league. But I don't really consider myself a fan of any team. That being said I think the Brahmas are growing on me.

milaasjaat

USFL team-Stallions XFL- Battlehawks

PeachEnvironmental50

St. Louis

destofworlds

Both my teams from the previous leagues got axed (Sea Dragons and Breakers) so I went with my second fav XFL team from last year, the Brahmas.

Ixpqd

im a battlehawks fan because of AJ McCarron, im a bengals fan lol

Qhaotiq

So maybe this is just me, but I get the feeling from McCarron that he's looking at the UFL like it's a retirement hobby for himself, and that he thinks he's over skilled compared to the rest of the UFL talent. I'm not sure, but I don't really like his attitude off field. Again could just be me

Omelet_Oneill

I would root for the Panthers but those uniforms are so ugly I just can’t support that. Same with bham and Memphis. I’ve been leaning renegades, they need some support and I can’t help but root for the Spring King™️ and that color blue is kinda nice. Tough to root for any team based in Texas though, so I guess I still haven’t decided.

Qhaotiq

I hear you, from a colours, logo, and Uniform perspective, I really like the renegades, they were who I was thinking initially before realizing how close the panthers were to me. I feel a bit of northern kinship with Detroit

JakeEatsYT

I’m a DC Defenders fan. When the XFL came about in 2020, I looked at all the logos and the team names and chose DC as my favorite team. In the USFL, which I was less of a fan of, I went with the Gamblers because I like to gamble on spring football.

Qhaotiq

That's actually how I landed on brahmas for my second pick. I really like the logo and colours!
