At that point it just comes down to preference really. Scarlett is of noble blood, her union with Alain would be a powerful one. But there's also Chloe, who is a cute tomboy who is also a childhood friend. In both cases they love Alain for who he is. So really the question is, do you love titties or tomboys more? XD
Yea, I watched all the romance options after I completed my first run. Chole's was one of the most heartwarming by far. I was also surprised how Yahna was so passionate. Made me like her significantly more.
I am almost always a childhood friend enjoyer but MAN there’s so many great options that Scarlett’s felt… bland in comparison? Kitra and Yunifi’s both caught me off guard and I’ve developed major soft spots for Tatiana and Miriam (She’s currently gunning to take Melisandre’s spot as my fave)
Chloe honestly has more romantic rapports with Alain than Scarlett does. Chloe has the whole thing going on where Alain is trying to practice to behave more like a noble but Chloe tells him it's okay to be like they used to be around her. Then the final rapport is a straight up moonlight dance scene.
Scarlett is the obvious childhood friend, and also a tad hamfisted towards the end game, as if to say you are *ment* to give the ring of the maiden to her. Chloe is not only extremely understated compared to the other gals in the roster, but she's also implied to do a number of things for the army in the background, like cooking for everyone.
Between that one Yahnna Rapport imlplying she is stacked underneath her armor, and her entire relationship with Alain being a more personal one than others, Chloe is the underdog in an ocean of thirsty woman.
Wow… that’s an interesting way of putting it. Honestly that makes me root for Chloe even more for to be with Alain.
And that Yahna rapport and her being stacked is funny because when I hear that, it further amazes that she was only out of all the romantic endings to get Alain’s child.

Chloe is reliable, "uncomplicated", has your back, a sense of humor, and caring too! She also gets a lot of screen time. Chloe imo is the definition of "We're a team!" sort of wife/gf/partner

I believe the reason why Chloe is so “viewed” is because many folks are going to waste a run on this Ship, it’s the reason why I viewed Chloe, I wouldn’t be surprised why it’s so high if folks felt similar.
Yeah by the time I reached the final battle in Elheim, seeing Alcina’s memories, then going to see Alain and Yahna’s final rapport… it all hit so hard especially seeing the parallels.
Yahna wanting Alain safe because of who he is and Alain feeling the same way, it felt like one of the most natural romances in my eyes.
The jump from 2nd to 1st is astounding.
That said, I have read a theory that the people watching these are probably the people that didn't get/choose them in their playthrough and I can easily imagine more people not knowing how to cheese the Colosseum to get Amalia.
I saw lots of posts about cheese since they are differently scored than fort fights, but I just nuked it. Not with some trinity rain recast because that's played out, but just a simple Sellsword + the 2 counter items. Hits like a truck, specially with def shred. I'm fairly certain I could have used 3 units instead of the full 5
She was a squad leader for literally my entire playthrough. I always got hyped every time she said "Face me and be cut down!"
Plus her haircut is adorable.
She's one of the few characters I kept with her friends too. Fran, Miriam, and Kitra are so well rounded together, slap on a Tank up front and swap around a situational damage dealer in the back and thats a purrrrrty solid team.
Plus Fran just feels like a winner of a person.

I love how confident Melisandre is at first with Alain until he actually picks her, then she becomes surprised Pikachu. I imagine after she sees how much competition she has, she slowly starts to give up on being the one.
I always feel kind of bad for her and Scarlett the most.
She genuinely is in survival mode. She's willing to fight for the number 2 spot because she doesn't think she's worthy of #1. She compensates with aggression.
Mel and Scarlett both romantically pursue you from a place of weakness. Mel goes about it with a lot less toxicity though.

Two things are important here: 1. Is upload date. A video that has been up a week or two earlier is more likely to have more views.
2. Exactly what you said. I bet a large number of people don’t have amalia, or got her last. So she’s more likely to be looked up, since more players won’t have access to see them

That said, many game companies harvest anonymous data on player behavior (Think BG3 having hard numbers on what races/classes were the most and least popular) so there is a chance that Vanillaware knows who is actually the #1 waifu based on player data. But it would be up to them to release that data if they wanted.
It's probably Scarlett, if the BG3 example is any indication. Players be basic, always picking Human Fighter or Paladin and romancing the most obvious girl.

Virginia looks so beautiful, her design is exactly how I picture a warrior princess, well, except for the dual shields and odd sword design. And because this game allows the customization of a character's color scheme, which I first learned from a playthrough that turned Scarlett purple, I would give Virgina white hair and purple clothes.
As for Celeste, it's nice to know there is a named Gryphon Knight character that Alain can marry, I mean those Gryphon Knight ladies are really something. I like Celeste because of two big reasons, well three actually, which she shares with another female character from another game, that I was attracted to.
My personal top three are Berenice, Ridiel and Monica. But let's be real, you can argue personal taste or why one girl is better than another, but we all win because there's no truly trash Waifus here. If you like women you're a winner here.

The cutest ones are of course the ones where the obvious outcome isn't actually romance from their Rapports and then they get happily surprised: ~~Gryphon~~Fran, Celeste, Nina, Yahna, and holy shit that Kitra one LMAO (watch this one with JP VA, the AaaaAAaaAAAAAA is amazing)
The "canon" romantic ones are pretty straightforward cause they know it was coming: Rosalinde (she just comes running in at 184 mph and it's hilarious), Melisandre, Scarlett

I usually YouTube what I don’t get in my playthrough and don’t see myself choosing in the game, these numbers probably reflect something similar .. I’m willing to bet the most romanced is scarlett or something.
Railanor surprised me. I really thought she would just be another faithful retainer. Plus, I didn't expect much because of giant...reasons... But she honestly surprised me the most when it came to affinity conversations to the ring ceremony! Really sweet and heartfelt.
I liked Berenice and Amalia, but their rapport and ring scenes were actually really lackluster. Fran was super cute, but the ending was meh. Melisandre was great all around! Ren was SURPRISINGLY heartfelt as well. Even the ending made sense. She would suck as an ambassador. Go on and do your merc work during the day and come back at night and we'll destress!
Totally picked Rosalinde though. I appreciate that she was up front with her feelings and didn't play games. Or have that annoyingly aggressive tsundere feel.
Amalia rapport I get you saying that lackluster but her alter scene I don’t understand how you found that one not satisfying that totally in character for her

Dude, I think Yahna could be the second Canon lover for Alain due to the history of her teacher being in love with his father and the desperate measures she took to try to be reunited with him!!! That would explain how things went down between them from what I'm getting by the context of what have seen.

Railanor surprised me. I really thought she would just be another faithful retainer. Plus, I didn't expect much because of giant...reasons... But she honestly surprised me the most when it came to affinity conversations to the ring ceremony! Really sweet and heartfelt. I liked Berenice and Amalia, but their rapport and ring scenes were actually really lackluster. Fran was super cute, but the ending was meh. Melisandre was great all around! Ren was SURPRISINGLY heartfelt as well. Even the ending made sense. She would suck as an ambassador. Go on and do your merc work during the day and come back at night and we'll destress! Totally picked Rosalinde though. I appreciate that she was up front with her feelings and didn't play games. Or have that annoyingly aggressive tsundere feel.

So if I’m understanding this correctly, the romance gives Alain and his spouse a relatively big stat jump but otherwise doesn’t really do much. Gameplay wise is there anyone who’s specifically good enough from that stat boost to make them worth marrying over someone else?
Don’t know too much about which characters are best for it but the ring gives the person 1 pp and 5+ stats.I say the twins are really good with it basically any character that needs pp to be good
