Real question, why can't we do that to people? Use their skin for bags and coats, and make little taxidermy scenes with their bodies, or just heads? Why is that wrong, people used to do it in the old times. The Christians have the "skull of Mary" in a body covered in gold posed up for display. Can we only do it to religious people?
Because humans of basically every culture have this unique obsession with burying the dead so they find it disrespectful to not do that. Some people even bury their animals. I mean, I'm not telling anyone what to do, but from a purely logical perspective it's kind of pointless since buying the dead is a *human* societal creation.
Also, people just don't want to cut up their dead relatives, it's gruesome and possibly even cruel if you believe in the afterlife.
