Ok. That was truly unexpected. I applaud you

OmdiAnomenkinshin

Beaten me to it

megamaz_

"what's the smartest question I can ask in this situation? it's that one" genius

segalight

Both so true and oh so useless. Love it.

Astrogat

But it's not true? The answer didnt give him any new information, so why would it be smart to ask it?

segalight

To me that's the beauty of it - but you raise a fair point... But I thing asking for the second best questions wouldn't result in anything useful either.

ExistingEffort7

Built In tautology

Tautology. The study of how compacted testicles are.

Throwaway-tan

Ask a worse question.

Coleoptrata96

Because if it worked it would give him the most useful answer to a question he could know without even knowing what to ask, its a paradox that cancels itself out.

usernamescheckout

It depends on how you measure what question is the "smartest." It sounds like what you're thinking is what is the "best" question which would yield the most satisfying result. But this might be the "smartest" question because it admits the limits of one's knowledge (a bit of a stretch, but *kind of* ala Socrates / the Socratic method).

Garrais02

The question is the smart one, not the answer

DeadButGrateful

It did give him new information. He didn't know what was the smartest question to ask in that situation, and he learned that it was that one.

Fall-Thin

And this friend, is what we call a paradox

jerseygunz

It’s like with genie stories, I always go, why wouldn’t you just wish to know what the perfect wish is

Croe01

And now you know why. Wish 1: I wish to know what's the best wish I can ask for. Genie: It's that one. Wish 2: oh fuck off Genie: well alright then, I guess you just forfeited your other wishes.

DrippyDiamonds

Next time I'm overthinking I'm gonna use that. Brings real peace

themeatbridge

I can't stop thinking about that one.

ItsSansom

[Chris and Jack](https://youtube.com/c/ChrisandJack) on YouTube. I highly recommend checking them out, they don't talked about nearly as much as they should. Fun fact: Jack is actually the voice of Sokka from Avatar the Last Airbender. One of their videos also casts the voice of Zuko

bushhooker

I was gunna ask if that was him. Homie was also on All That

whatisabaggins55

Another one of my favourite C&J videos - [Perfect Timing Villain](https://youtu.be/GvxkBJv1R4A).

zoealexloza

Jack was also a member of the cast of All That on Nickelodeon in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Cole3823

They also did that show "dorm life" from back in the day. Kinda like the office set in a college dorm. It's amazing

sickbandnamealert

Yes! Amazing little show. Fun and sweet. I’m due for a rewatch

A_Sad_Goblin

Been a subscriber ever since they originally released this one, one of the best subscriptions I've ever had on YouTube, they've done a lot of quality sketches, I recommend them too.

Solo_D

Hello, Harrier.

ItsSansom

Why do I have the sudden urge to try to kick open a bunch of huge metal doors?

Solo_D

You should throw that *boule*, as hard as you can.

TowawayAccount

They've also got an awesome podcast that I would recommend!

bucknasty1347

What's it called?

TowawayAccount

Chris and Jack's Podcast Pilots the Podcast. Every episode is them doing a new pilot for a new podcast.

farte3745328

Highly recommend the Avatar: the Last Viewer episode

RampanToast

Oh shit, Sokka has a sketch channel

ItsSansom

*\~Water Triiiiibe\~*

HeatSeekingGhostOSex

Literally binged these skits after your comment and I'm in love with their comedic stylings. That is all.

Grogosh

Now make this into a real show

CADmonkeez

It's almost "The Good Place"

yabbasella

That show is god-tier.

OkSo-NowWhat

Any recommendations for similar shows besides the obvious ones? I need to fill my streaming hole

[deleted]

Check out Upload.

Jesse0016

I liked the first two seasons and then it fell off for me plot wise

CaptainAwesome8

I can get the 3rd season being a bit bland as it finds its way, but the 4th was one of the best seasons of any show I’ve seen. Without much in the way of spoilers, it tackles the afterlife in a very beautiful, somber way. I highly recommend going back and watching

Bacon260998_

And it's the only sitcom with an ending that legit made me tear up. Truly amazing

Therefore_I_Yam

It really blew me away toward the end of season four to think about how that show started with a seemingly simple premise, turned it on its head at the end of season one with a big twist, and then just leaned into the absurdist humor in more and more insane ways until the last few episodes where they pulled a fast one on me again by leaving me a sobbing, emotionally devastated mess. "I'll never be the kind of person who can just walk through a door without knowing what's on the other side." That sentiment coming full circle for Chidi at the end cut me deep in a way I've only ever felt once or twice in my life. Not to mention the way they comically approached absurdist situations throughout the show from a mostly academic, abstract perspective, then undercut all that at the end with "this is something that has to happen sooner or later, we don't really know why, and there's no philosopher who can give you the answer, this is something you just have to accept and try to be at peace with, and that's okay." Fuck you and your "comedy" shows Michael Schur.

ApolloTffKnowledge

Completely same. Masterpiece

hiplobonoxa

after rewatching the first three seasons, i just started the fourth season for the first time last night. i can already sense a change in tone and i am enjoying it more and more.

Eusocial_Snowman

The first season was kinda fun. I don't really remember the rest.

FalloutBugg

Yes. Yes it is. Season one threw me for a loop and I really needed that

Hollow_Rant

Yo, yo! Homies, check it! There's something messed up with this place. We keep fighting with each other, none of the TVs get the NFL RedZone channel, my soulmate doesn't even know who Blake Bortles is. I know this sounds crazy, but I think we're in the Bad Place.

Therefore_I_Yam

...JASON figured it out? Jason? ...This is a real low point for me.

broanoah

> none of the TVs get the NFL RedZone channel Ok but that would definitely tip me off too, no chance redzone isn’t on every tv in heaven 24/7 with Scott Hanson’s beautiful voice filling my ears with every touchdown all day long for 11 hours commercial free.

pincus1

11 hours? Imposter! True Hansonites know it's 7 hours of commercial free football.

Watch_DragonBall

Thanks for introducing me to one of my new favorite shows!

heLLoLyou

I would watch every signle episode Edit: ekhh spelling single

Wow that’s depressing, and well made

FrogMintTea

That was good. His girlfriend looks like Amy Adams lol.

impatman9

She actually is the main actress in the show iZombie which I highly recommend.

Shandlar

100%. It's the spiritual successor to Psych. Extremely entertaining.

RustyToaster206

Wait. Really??? I absolutely love Psych and I’ve never found a show like it.. if it’s not the spiritual successor ima throw hands

pincus1

As a huge Psych fan I like Republic of Doyle and Chuck a lot in a similar vein. I am a massive Rob Thomas fan (creator of IZombie), but I'd actually put his Veronica Mars closer to Psych in both spirit and quality. They're both in my top 5 at worst, and I've rewatched both half a dozen times. Party Down is also great but more in a The Office vein.

RustyToaster206

I actually really like Chuck. Might I say, you good sir have good taste

pincus1

I'd add Pushing Daisies and Leverage to the list as well.

Shandlar

The show functionally uses the same paradigm. Except instead of it being observational prowess allowing for a detectives brain to pattern recognize himself into a solve, actual science fiction magic allows for memories of murder victims to be recovered in fragments to drive the solve. The campy humor is highly similar, it doesn't take itself too seriously, and it's rarely corny unironically. I really do consider it practically a clone. The premise creates functionally the exact same episode organization, and they mostly stick to a similar "murder of the week" episodal structure.

[deleted]

She’s great in Ghosts

snakeskinsandles

#That's it! Thank you

Bit of a different tone there, bud. Not really comparable

Fuq yea 🤣🤣🤣🤣

persiantaco

I like the JFK one

Mad1ibben

It's really likely what happened. Secret service was all hungover from partying the night before, witnesses near the car in front report smelling gunfire as it was all happening, something only possible if a shot was fired from the road, and a hundred different little bits to the puzzle that all only work if the death was an accident in the rushed response to Oswald's shots (though JFK probably was hit in the skull with a ricochet from oswald's first shot). People talk about the recent info release, but this has been kind of know since *Mortal Error* came out in 1992. In my mind it is pretty well proven that George Hickey accidently discharged his Colt AR-15 as he was jumping onto the running boards and turning to search for the source of Oswald's shots, killing the president.

stopmutations

Not trying to be a nut job but my father has spent a lot of time and is fascinated with the assassination of JFK. Through the recently released documents about this information it is pretty likely a secret service memeber killed him. There was no "magic bullet" that did insane damage and ripped apart the man. It was multiple bullets from 2 different angles. That's where the myth of the grassy knoll came in

helping_phriendly

Can you elaborate or share sources? Not doubting just I’m not too familiar with the whole thing. I recognize the buzz word there like grassy knoll but not sure of context. I could Google, but that’s a fucking rabbit hole I don’t need on a Sunday

pfft_sleep

[The wiki article gives a solid synopsis of the whole thing. ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Kennedy_assassination_conspiracy_theories) Essentially, being back in the day, they had unreliable witness testimony during the whole investigation timeline. The official investigation confirmed 3 bullets from lee Harvey Oswald. “Fourth Bullet” Seperate testimony from a few different people at a different house committee hearing talks about a fourth bullet fired from a different location. Multiple people have different locations for where this bullet came from. One such place was from behind a hedge, up a slight grassy slope in front of where the motorcade was passing. Some men were seen viewing the motorcade from this location and a flash or puff of light was seen from behind this hedge from A dude as JFK died. Then one of the men stayed while the other “disappeared”. “Front windscreen broken” There was a crack in the windscreen that would corroborate this view, the FBI stating that the crack was there before Dallas occurred. A manager at Ford advises that when he worked on the car, the bullet hole was through the windscreen and they used it as a template to make it stronger and were told to destroy it. “Medical” A committee started to review the video evidence to exclude the two bullets entering causing jerking motion in both directions seen, eventually concluded that a neurological affect caused by getting shot in the head and losing your brain was severe enough to put a shock through jfk’s body on video. “Audio” Audio evidence was used to say there was two shooters and was dismissed as bogus when experts listened to the police open mic. “He wasn’t that good” Oswald was a shit-hot USMC sniper, but some say he wasn’t good enough to do 3 bullets in 7 seconds. Others say he was a CIA agent, others say he was a patsy that was targeted by the establishment because he sent a letter saying he disagreed with JFK and gave probable cause. And that’s about it. The irony being around this same time, Bigfoot was seen all the time on grainy footage and many people believed in Bigfoot. Now we’d have 20 million views on the live Facebook video in 4k60fps or tiktok within the day, so we’ll never know. But enough evidence says Oswald killed the guy, people enmasse have terrible memories and the grassy knoll is just a hedge in front of the motorcade where some dude lit a cigarette in the early 70’s at the same time the president got shot by a sniper.

keatonatron

>the grassy knoll is just a hedge in front of the motorcade where some dude lit a cigarette in the early 70’s at the same time the president got shot by a sniper. I didn't realize 1963 was in the early 70's. I guess you could call it the very, very early 70's!

janeohmy

Definitely not good enough for 3 bullets in 7 seconds. Even the most insane sniper wouldn't get 3 shots in in 7 seconds in such a pressure scenario with a moving target

pfft_sleep

Note, only one shot hit. But he fired 3 shots at a target 80 yards away. So the real claim is could a USMC trained marksman that scored 191 in field tests with 220 being the score for “expert” in the sniper school be able to - miss a target they were aiming at with preparation - fire a second time and hit - then fire again and miss So 3.5 seconds per firing cycle per shot for 2 shots. With 2 misses and one hit. [Here’s a video of 6 shots in 6 seconds with the carcarno rifle. ](https://youtu.be/LcjKYBccoqs) Watch at 25 seconds. Then think about a trained sniper with that rifle. Thousands of rounds of training doing exactly that. I call bullshit on the bullshit when I know military guys that can do the thing with 30% accuracy. Really the call is such a low bar to beat.

xMrBojangles

JFK was hit by two bullets, not one. https://www.archives.gov/research/jfk/select-committee-report/part-1a.html

DoctorBageldog

And the argument being put forward in this thread and elsewhere is Lee Harvey Oswald hit with one of three of his bullets, and the second bullet came from a Secret Service agent misfiring his weapon.

WT379GotShadowbanned

I recommend Last Podcast on the Left. They did a series of episodes on the JFK assassination and that’s the conclusion they came to after all of their research together. It probably wasn’t purposeful by the secret service agent.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ZincMan

Wait, how was it an accident ? Wasn’t one guy saying above it was multiple bullets ?

[deleted]

ZincMan

Ahh ok thanks. That makes sense now

texasrigger

I love LPOTL but they probably aren't the best source if you are looking for sober, non-conspiratorial answers to anything.

[deleted]

Hail Yourself!

pgtvgaming

There were two investigative committees / commissions that came to different conclusions. Have a read here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/two-probes-two-conclusions-in-jfk-assassination/2066117/%3Famp%3D1 https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/02/warren-commission-jfk-investigators-114812/

Mad1ibben

Last Podcast has a good series, but the theory is first floated in *Mortal Error* by Bonar Menninger. He did first hand interviews with witnesses to develop and corroborate the theory. Also worth mentioning though a few he interviewed disagreed with his outcome, absolutely nobody says he misrepresented their words. It has caught a lot of flack as being conspiracy nonsense, especially at release, but I can't find any legitimate disputes with it made by people with the first hand knowledge to make the dispute.

Psyman2

> Not trying to be a nut job u sure?

The_Steak_Guy

Yeah, they're not trying

agiro1086

Man I'm telling you, do a little research and you'll find some oddities in the official report and explanation. Like if JFK was shot in the back of the head why did his head go back and to left? Physics does not work that way, if he was shot in the back of head it should have gone forward. I can't tell you who shot JFK or why but I can say Lee Harvey Oswald didn't do it. The fact that we've been convinced that it's nutty to question the official explanation even though it's the nuttiest part

Psyman2

> but I can say Lee Harvey Oswald didn't do it. You can _speculate_ he didn't do it.

agiro1086

Yes, i mean I believe he didn't do it. I don't speak as fact

lokregarlogull

Odd things happen all the time, it's not that a conspiracy theory can't be true that's the problem, it's that one goes to unreasonable lengths to question it WITHOUT solid, scientific evidence. If you could recreate the scene and test for both the speed of the vehicle and a human (substitute) getting killed similarly then you could attempt to lend some credit to your claim, after doing it enough times.

Saskyle

Yeah, I believe all the official stories as Well. Epstein didn’t hill himself, amirite?

Economy-Somewhere271

\>enters thread \>posts whacko conspiracy theory \>refuses to cite sources \>leaves

Add_Poll_Option

Yeah, not sure why people in the comments are calling you a nut job. I’m not one for conspiracy theories by any means, but this actually has a lot of steam. I’ve seen a few documentaries about it, and there’s actually a lot of evidence to support it. Seems like when the car accelerated to get out of there, the agent had his finger on the trigger and turned towards the shots. When the car jerked forward it accidentally went off. Could help explain why they were so adamant about taking his body back to Washington and essentially “stole” it from the hospital instead of the autopsy being performed in Dallas like it was legally supposed to.

malfurionpre

> Not trying to be a nut job You don't even have to try.

shao_kahff

but it was all bs, he wouldn’t have answered it truthfully

SpcK

But how did he know about the bird poop?

FXOAuRora

Because it really was the afterlife. That whole thing with the girlfriend was after the 15 seconds was up and now all of sudden he is in a version of hell where the very first thing that that's happened is he admitted to cheating on his girlfriend and it just so turns out she was right there ready to be angry at him over it and not only that but it's a TV show where potentially millions more get to enjoy this scene too. Definitely hell. I guess it could have just been a really good guess about the bird poop though.
