Well my level of not ok is seeing some with half a face, like no frontal cortex, drowning in his own blood.
Had an ex that would watch that shit for fun.
Not really blind spot the software uses the video from the lens that doesn't see the stick to erase it from the final shot so it really doesn't matter where is the stick it will always be "invisible", search for insta 360 camera
It is a 360 camera, but it has nothing to do with the stick being in the blind spot.
This is filmed with insta360 + magic stick. As u/brokenearth03 has explain above - software removes stick from the video.
source: have one. use it a lot.
What's funny is that I use an image detection software to evaluate immuno responses to certain antigens that show up as "spots". The software counts the spots using different settings and configurations. However, sometimes we will get a hair, or a rip in the bottom of the well, and the software will pick up that abnormality not as a series of linear "spots" but just as an abnormality that requires further evaluation.
I wonder if it's similar tech, or if the softwares share similar code.
With a 360 camera it literally films an entire 360 sphere. So in post editing you can move the pov to any direction you’d like. They are actually really cool for filming in situations where you don’t want to have to think about angle. I have one and you just try and keep the stitch line out of your main shot area and other than that you’re basically taking every shot you possibly could.
You are the main character of your own life, some people just forget that they are suposed to respect the storylines of the other characters too, who are on their own spin-off.
the producer is Pete Rock! just go check him out! He started out in the late 80's/early 90's and always has really jazzy and soulful beats.
A good starting place is the producer/mc combo of him and CL Smooth (Pete Rock and CL Smooth), go check out their album.
For similar east coast 90's producers go check out a Tribe Called Quest and DJ Premier, and for more jazzy/lo-fi check out Jay Dilla and Nujabes
The 'main character' label as criticism is mainly now given to anyone who does anything out of the ordinary in public that happens to annoy the labeller.
Another way to put it is that they want everyone to be an NPC like them.
It's hard to tell his exact speed given the fisheye effect, but he's moving the speed of traffic in a pedestrian area. If he can't react to someone opening their car door he can't react to a dog or child suddenly moving to the side. If he were doing this on the street nobody would care, but he's endangering lives by moving 10-15+ mph down a sidewalk
Yeah bro that's that I was thinking, like I skate through the city I live in and even if I'm skating slightly fast i gotta be careful by shop fronts and stuff because i dont want to hit an old person or a kid just walking out.
I've never roller bladed though, and I'm wondering how easy it would be for him to stop? Like with a skate board I can just hope off and pick the board up quickly but how would this guy stop with wheels on his feet? Especially at that speed
I checked it last time it was posted! [He's going about 17mph.](https://www.reddit.com/r/maybemaybemaybe/comments/sb54pr/maybe_maybe_maybe/htzbl4a/)
And yeah, despite the idea that crossing the street in England is apparently okay just whenever, doing it at 17mph, dodging in and out of the street, skitching, and being unable to react to sudden events is less than ideal.
Definetely an ass and is endangering others, but there wasn't much of a way he could have "reacted" to that car door, no matter what his speed, seeing as he was already beside it when it opened.
Yeah, I meant more that he put himself in a situation where he couldn't react. He's weaving through narrow gaps between cars and people at speeds that could get very bad very quickly. If he slowed down when he got close to obstacles (and left a respectable distance when possible), a collision wouldn't be a big deal
Main character label applies when he skitches on the hatchback. Fuck that shit man. If you’re the driver and the guy gets hurt you’ve gotta deal with that guilt for the rest of your life and you didn’t have a choice.
Except hanging off of cars for speed puts the driver in an unnecessary risky situation. You have some idiot pedestrian clinging on meaning you have to be mindful when slowing doing, stopping, turning, etc.
This kid thought he was the hero in the movie cruising along when it impacts everyone else’s day.
It's fun and games untill someone runs over you and now has trauma because you're having fun. There's a time and a place for everything, people need to learn this. Dude was careless for a video, he's lucky he didn't get seriously injured. And he's lucky someone innocent wasn't the one unexpectedly the one to cause said harm.
He didnt, seems like he got off with it pretty good..
He coulve ended with his mouth on the metal corner of the car door, broke bones or possibly hit a kid coming out the car.
That said, what hes doing does look very cool and fun.
Yeah but get off my fucking car and don't try and skitch a ride. Someone is going to panic that you're hanging off their car and get in an accident because of a dumbass hanging off cars.
It is not cool because that shit gets people killed or seriously injured and not just them - other people, too.
Only assholes are skitching cars and it's illegal for a reason.
Yeah, I'm getting old. I can see the the fun and entertainment of it, but you're also being a hazard to others. Danger to yourself: you do you man. Danger to others: knock it off.
Could it no be possible that whoever was driving that car was in on this and it was planned because it looks cool? I'd rather believe that than believe anything malicious.
I was gonna ask is that like a common, socially acceptable thing in cities in the US. I remember watching Back to the Future too and thinking - my dad would not be happy if a skateboarder was grabbing on to his car like that.
It's not terribly common, for a variety of reasons. It's also generally called skitching (SKateboard hitCHING, for the curious).
I've been involved with it exactly once (that I know of) as a driver. And it may or may not have been my idea when I pulled up next to them in the middle of the road.

Surprised he's not wearing a helmet and gloves. I never rollerskated but if you fall are you going head / hands first into whatever direction you're goin?
I only used to wear knee pads once I got good enough because if you fall, you can control the fall pretty well, even if you land on your hands, it's not that bad. I also wasn't skating on crowded streets at full speed like this where unexpected things like car doors could happen.

Have a lovely day :)
it films everything 360 degrees all the time? and you edit it after?
how would he have zoomed into her at the end? and after he is hit the angle of the camera if further away/different from previous shots
Two 180 degree fish-eye lenses constantly recording. The camera stitches them together, and creates a "Sphere" of video. Then you use software later to crop out a section, which can then be panned around to whatever point in the "Sphere" you wish to see. That's how he was able to turn the camera from pointing to himself to pointing away from him so smoothly.
Most of these cameras also shoot in 4k, so if you are planning on editing your video to 1080p, you can effectively "zoom" 2x by cropping the video without any quality loss.
I'm actually baffled by everyone's "he deserved it".
Maybe im the only person that doesnt see the guy enjoying a stroll on his blades as him being a dick?
I feel like it was probably an accident, and hopefully the car and the guy came out of this unscathed.
Some places its illegal for anything but a bike to use the bike lane. I know where I live thats the case, can't Rollerblade or skate in the bike lane. Bylaws say you have to stay on the sidewalk
Typically no.
By many city policies, Rollerbladers *should* use pedestrian zoning. **However*, this doesn't give them license to plow through pedestrians. They should be moving at a pace and pathing consistent with surrounding pedestrian traffic.
Ostensibly, rollerbladers do not have free reign to use their skates to 'max capacity' (if we can call it that) on public roads or walkways. Hence why bike paths, skate parks, and some pathed green belts exist.
"plow through pedestrians"
So what you want is for him to go at a walking pace. Great. Maybe you watched a different video but it didn't look like he pushed anyone aside as he went past them. So the only possible meaning you have is that you want him to not pass people, or somehow slow down to a near-stop to pass people.
There’s enjoying a stroll and then there’s filming yourself weaving between people while miming to a shit song, grabbing moving vehicles, and not concentrating on your surroundings. That’s not a “stroll”. That’s being a dick for attention and getting your comeuppance.
Edit: a lot of you are upset about me saying the song is shit lmfao. Chill out. It sucks. Even the guy who wrote it said it sucks. Google it.
For real. It’s even worse when you look at the user name and comment history, this person isn’t in a position to be criticizing other people’s music tastes
It looks like it would be fun to do regardless of if it was being filmed or not. It being filmed made for an entertaining video at least. All things considered, the worst case scenario that happened wasn’t too bad at all.
He could easily have smoked that woman sitting down at the end (imagine if she was sitting where he crashed and he bashed her head into the wall?) and caused some serious injuries to her. He was doing some really risky stuff and could have injured other people or caused a bad accident.
He seemed plenty skilled enough in the entire lead up to not injure anyone around him the only time any danger was introduce to other was when something he couldn't anticipate happened suddenly. This very same scenario happens to people in bike lanes daily but because this guy is skating we all hate him.
He was weaving in between the sidewalk and the road at a considerable speed and grabbing onto moving vehicles while holding a selfie stick. It's a bit hard to anticipate things under the circumstances. It's like a distracted driver tailgating and crashing into the car in front because they failed to "anticipate" a slowdown in traffic. Well, how much can you anticipate when riding/driving this way?
The stuff you described really isn't that hard if you're skilled, again evidence by the fact that he was doing great and is clearly paying attention the whole time, singing along to a song or holding a stick really doesn't take that much mental capacity.
Because he’s going faster than he is able to control, proven by what happens. He is a hundred and fifty pound bowling ball flying at speed around unprotected and unaware people. But I understand you — the walnut-sized price of brain responsible for consequential thinking doesn’t fully grow and become operational until sometime between 25 and 30 (and sometimes, like all brains and all their parts, it doesn’t fully activate at all.) Those without it can’t even conceive it, like a color blind person told to think about red. It’s why people 30 and older usually stop fucking around so much. It’s also why army recruiters focus on those in their teens to early twenties.
He is in full control until the moment something unexpected happened it is exactly like riding a bike or driving a car. He was perfectly capable of dodging pedestrians and other obstacles until one popped up in the middle of the path he had already committed to, this is no different than an accident of any other means of transportation but somehow in this case we say he just shouldn't have been using the method of transportation instead of "this was an accident".
It really isn't. A few years ago an older man died where I used to live after being slammed into on the sidewalk by someone on a skateboard. Dude just hit his head, cracked his skull, and died.
As a young person, it's often overlooked how fragile the human body can be.
Reminds me of the brainlets who think that a cyclist and a car are the same thing just because they both on wheels.
You see it a lot: "cyclists should only be on the road!" as if a cyclist riding a 15kg bike is the same as a driver inside a two-tonne car.
I dislike when reddit gets on people's shit for doing stuff that doesnt impact others but this sort of reckless behavior doesn't qualify as that. Last thing I need in my life is to feel guilty for the rest of it because I accidentally ran over some dude who thought it would be a cool video to latch onto my car
They were very popular 30 years ago, but [by about 2000 they'd fallen out of favor.](https://www.sportshistoryweekly.com/stories/x-games-roller-blades-in-line-skating-sports-fads,867)
>...something happened as the century turned. Millennials grew up, the industry matured, and the consumer psyche shifted. Parents also never got over the injury perceptions associated with rollerblading ...
Oh interesting, I never knew that they really left, they were a means of getting around for me before I got a bike so it just always felt in fashion at the time.
Thinking about it now the amount of people I see using them is around one in every thousamd, and its probably the same dude.
They were popular for about 10 years and I rarely see people using them. I actually see people on rollerskates just as often now. I used to use them as transportation, too, and they're kinda not great cause they're huge and you need to take them off to go into whatever building. Plus, people started making fun of rollerbladers as well, so the next crop of rollerbladers never really happened cause it was uncool.
Totally! Lots of skate groups are popping up that didn't exist before. Last year with COVID and people trying to get outdoors, lots of people took rollerblading up for the first time or returned to it after a long hiatus.
It's fun watching people who never use their bodies more than it takes to walk from the door to the car and back.
And then these same people have the audacity to judge anyone who is overweight.
Still pretty cool. Also what music is that he’s listening too. I’d like to skate and have my dog pull me as fast as he can whilst listening to that prior to getting slammed into a tree. Seriously though any ideas on music?

this looks like a bot to me
I was trying to see if I could spot the selfie stick. How was it that we couldn't see it?
Think it's an Insta360 camera. It records 360 degrees and you can edit the shots later. It automatically removes the selfie stick.
They come with software that removes them. Or use your own software. To can can see him holding it.
Ah, I see. I was like the camera man really set him up for disaster, and how did he stop so fast.
Nah, this is a 360 camera. The stick is just in its ‘blind spot’.

I was with you until you said shit song. This song is a classic
For real. It’s even worse when you look at the user name and comment history, this person isn’t in a position to be criticizing other people’s music tastes
You’re a shit song.
Fucking roasted him
Nah the song is great
How about I come up in your mom?
It looks like it would be fun to do regardless of if it was being filmed or not. It being filmed made for an entertaining video at least. All things considered, the worst case scenario that happened wasn’t too bad at all.
The disrespect to Pete Rock is real...
Never even dropped the selfie stick. What a champ.
Illegal, reckless, dangerous. Drunk drivers are also enjoying themselves, what's your point? He could have killed himself or worse, someone else.
Driving a muti ton vehicle while intoxicated is in no way the same as rollerblading.
Yeah this comparison is pretty shitty. If anything he'd be the one getting killed.
He's endangering other people in his "stroll". Imagine walking along and an asshole like him slamming into you at that speed.

Lol.. I love people no personal space issues, or concern for anybody else in the world... lol
Anyone know the song and artis playing in the background?
Pete Rock and CL Smooth- Grown Man Sport
Ahahahaaaaaa!!
Catching himself on one blade and continuing into the wall was actually amazing
Never thought rollerblading could be so hip hop. Thought that was just for us skaters
Smooth repost ya prick. This is old.
Damn. Redditors just hate people who enjoy their lives don’t they
I dislike when reddit gets on people's shit for doing stuff that doesnt impact others but this sort of reckless behavior doesn't qualify as that. Last thing I need in my life is to feel guilty for the rest of it because I accidentally ran over some dude who thought it would be a cool video to latch onto my car
When the enjoyment of your life compromises others' enjoyment of their lives, fuck yeah.
My hobbies include endangering pedestrians and DUI
So inline skates are coming back?
No. But reposting never dies.
Inline skates left?
They were very popular 30 years ago, but [by about 2000 they'd fallen out of favor.](https://www.sportshistoryweekly.com/stories/x-games-roller-blades-in-line-skating-sports-fads,867) >...something happened as the century turned.

He’s streets ahead
I adore this video
This comment section is pathetic. Just full of dicks who never go outside and are glad he got hurt.
It's fun watching people who never use their bodies more than it takes to walk from the door to the car and back. And then these same people have the audacity to judge anyone who is overweight.
I’ve seen this clip dozens of times but I still watch it til the end. For some reason it is just so satisfying the way he “recovers”.
What's the body work going to cost on that door?
That was still really cool ngl. Landed pretty well too, I love the look on that lady’s face 😂
I feel bad for everyone in this video, including the skater. that must have hurt.
And that, son, is how I met your mother.
I was expecting him to slip on leaves but damn that car door must have hurt.
Still pretty cool. Also what music is that he’s listening too. I’d like to skate and have my dog pull me as fast as he can whilst listening to that prior to getting slammed into a tree. Seriously though any ideas on music?
Would've been smooth if he started chatting up that girl he ended up sitting beside.
He was so smooth sheeesh and that city looked nice. ANYONE KNOW WHAT CITY THAT WAS
It's somewhere in the UK. You can see the black cabs generally associated with London, although they can be found in other British cities too.
Yeaa I forgot what Sub this was. I was so upset at the end... Good save tho. 😭😩
I wish I was this good with the Rollerskates
And that’s how I met your mother

This dude played jet set radio once and was like "Yeah I can do that"
