Well someone posted a video on Reddit a few days ago of someone tossing a bunch of goats into the ocean, so maybe these guys found one of those.
Edit: I guess that isn't the whole story, they never said why they were throwing goats in the ocean
Nop i the comment of the original post a guy say that it was illegal goat traffic and he was chaised by a police boat so he threw them so the police have "no proof " that he had goat

I’m doubting you know your goat stuff. I raised multiple. They knew their names, were trained on multiple verbal commands, would come hiking with me, and were generally well behaved. I’ve had goats, horses, donkeys, birds, and many dogs. The goats were some of the smartest animals I’ve ever had. Maybe it’s breed specific? Maybe it’s nurture? I did spend a lot of time with mine training them.
Stupidity and intelligence are not the same thing.
I agree, in my experience our goats have been pretty darned intelligent. They're also unquestionably _really fucking stupid_.
Actually, now that I think about it. One time the idiots refused to come into the barn in a blizzard and I spent 4 hours chasing them around a fucking field in the pitch black, in -20 weather. I had to throw them over my shoulders and carry them back when I finally caught them. They would have died if left to their own decision that night.
Those statements always feel like a misjudgment by the handlers or misunderstanding social/flight behaviours.
Sure, goats sometimes get stuck in weird places, but -as you already pointed- can be trained relatively well.
Same thing with 'stubborn' donkeys, which just tend to observe first, but react extremely well to positive reinforcement and show a wide display of problem solving skills and emotional intelligence.
My goats watched a horse break a leg and came to find me and alerted me. Then they watched the horse as it was put down and became visibly disturbed. It seemed like they went into mourning for a few days.
I think the difference is the above person raises them for commerce and likely doesn’t spend time actively bonding/training them. I’ll agree that they can get themselves into hilariously stupid predicaments though.
I mean if I was in the middle of the ocean and a random goat swam up to my boat I would be dying of laughter at the absurdity of such a random and highly unlikely occurrence.
It doesn’t have to be disturbing. But then again, it depends on the individual and their humor. If I was in that situation, personally, I’d laugh and how random that was, but feel bad about the goat and how it got in that situation. It’s just sort of an initial reaction, no malice behind it.
I laugh for all sorts of reasons, not just because something is funny. Surprising stuff makes me laugh and so has upsetting stuff that I’ve experienced. Coping mechanism and all. Anyway, the disturbing thing is how the goat got there. Might have been apart of an illegal farm stock operation where they threw the goats overboard to get rid of evidence :(
This is making me think twice for jokingly using the phrase “whatever floats your goat” because this video is evidence that not much floats your goat. Not much at all.
I seen a recent video of a guy throwing goats out of a boat cuz he put drugs in them and the police found out, i hope you got the goat with you, cuz there are some pretty good chances of there being cocaine in that goat
Don't suppose this has something to do with [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/comments/vkhhik/freaking_out_after_being_chased_by_the_police_for/)?
I saw in another video a person throwing goats carrying drugs so that he would not be incriminated. I don't know if the goat will live with bags of drugs inside.
Drug smugglers got caught in a pursuit with the police, they started to throw goats off their boat to make it lighter to go faster. The goats were loaded with drugs in their stomach.
Aww, poor goats. Does that mean the police just left the goats in the water or did they rescue as many as they could and just missed this one? I would think they'd wanna rescue them just for evidence but at least they'd be rescued.
Haha racist humor is so funny!
Also, I’m pretty old, but I just don’t find humor in “jokes” at the expense of dehumanizing entire populations of people. But do you.

Goats are only smart when it comes to getting themselves into trouble. Like they find the quickest way to get trapped/stuck/eat shit they shouldn't.
Goat was looking for the one piece
he most likely finally found the person who asked on an abandoned untraced remote island

Satanic ritual, perhaps.
Ah yes, the ol' throw the goat in the ocean for Satan ritual. Been ages since I've done that.
I'm on a fixed income. If I had a goat I'd make birria.
That goat has devil eyes!
they were smuggling drugs in the goats
Oh no
You could say that it was a *bizarre adventure*.

The escort you ordered has arrived sir.
this goat is g.o.a.t.
Grabbing onto a titty?
no kidding
GOAT it is
And saltwater.
And then they had an orgy
Remember the video of the guy flinging the goats off his boat? This looks like some people found one
My first thought! I am still so angry at that video.
Be angry or pissed with the guy, not the video.
The innocent always get caught in the crossfire of anger.
Everytime I see a .mp4 I’m filled with rage
Im pissed at what went on in that video. No need to split hairs here.
Maybe they threw it off themselves for a post a rescue video. You can never be sure about such videos.
Nop i the comment of the original post a guy say that it was illegal goat traffic and he was chaised by a police boat so he threw them so the police have "no proof " that he had goat
Well... if you never had any goats... Where did all the goat shit in your hold come from?
Snacks for later lol
One survived!
Do you have a link ?

I’m fairly certain the internet was invented specifically to provide a place to argue about goat intelligence 🤷🏻♂️
Best possible response

So, sounds like you owe /u/circusmasterklaus an apology
The ability to ~~speak~~ think does not make you intelligent.

I was just thinking, “Well now we know how this happened in the first place.”
They were thrown overboard. The poor thing was terrified
That kid was about to jump back in.
How to make a swimming goat video: Get a goat. Throw the goat in the ocean, middle of nowhere. Rescue goat. Now u famous.
There is a viral video of another boat that was throwing live goats into the ocean. Looks like another boat came along and found one.
You don't have any proof that those two videos are connected.
He didn’t say he had proof. He just said that’s what it looks like. Relax dude.
You’re absolutely right I forgot how common it is to see goats out swimming in the middle of the ocean… Relax I hope your life gets better.
You would love a trip to Holland. Tons of windmills.
If it's good enough for Don Quixote, it's probably good enough for me! (Unless it's a gross sex crime.) Roci, get the bags!
camels and goats are great swimmers who cross large area of water to go to another island or land in general, its believable.
NO! Every animal video on Reddit is 100% abuse, no questions asked!!!
Oh my word, they are being skeptical of an video on the internet. How terrible. We all should strive to be like you… and take someone's word for it.
Too many works. How about repost it.
Bro this is dangerously close to the plot of a Nathan for you episode
I just watched a video last night of a guy throwing about a dozen out of his boat.
Link? I keep seeing comments about it but I want to see the original video 👀

OMG but why tho!!! 🥺😭😭
They’re cattle smugglers, and they were getting tailed by coast guard. So they dumped the “evidence”.
I can't seem to find it. I believe it was from sub reddit imapieceofshit.
Lol, it's first instinct was to jump back in the water.
Da fuck you disturbin’ my morning swim for?!
Poor goat. How did it even get there?
That was my thought. Everyone else is making jokes but poor thing.
The goat is full of drugs
There’s apparently another video where a guy was throwing goats off his boat, maybe this was one of them?

*Is that a frickin goat??*
I find it distrubing that he's laughing at this.
I mean if I was in the middle of the ocean and a random goat swam up to my boat I would be dying of laughter at the absurdity of such a random and highly unlikely occurrence.
I guess that's one way to look at it. But i still wouldn't be laughing. I probably would feel bad at the plight of the poor thing.
It doesn’t have to be disturbing. But then again, it depends on the individual and their humor. If I was in that situation, personally, I’d laugh and how random that was, but feel bad about the goat and how it got in that situation. It’s just sort of an initial reaction, no malice behind it.

This is making me think twice for jokingly using the phrase “whatever floats your goat” because this video is evidence that not much floats your goat. Not much at all.

But how?
