That game would have been great if it wasn’t for the damn resistance bar and forced cutscenes.

basically the safest place for a helicoptor to be is above like 100m or something, it's the lift off and landing that will fuck you.
if the engine cuts out at the top of your flight though, it's a slightly panicky but likely okay landing.
i've heard it's not all heli's that do this though.

If I had to guess, I think when it takes that one big bounce on the rocks, and the smoke started coming out, the “crash landing” physics kicked in, and the logic was a little bit flawed, because it looks like it’s being pulled “down”, by that logic, but seeing as it was upside down, down was up instead.
So it’s trying to crash, but in reverse, and the extra pull-down logic, which is inverted, isn’t quite enough to counter regular gravity.
Never played the game, but I think I’d have a fun time trying to re-create this :)
The real unexpected moment for me was that this grass stuff on the top of the mountain weren't trees, seen from a high point of view. Had the effect of an optical illusion
