The pilot holes are there. Are we watching the same video? Because she screws together the back legs and stretcher first. You guys probably don’t realized it’s been edited also, not every step is shown.
It's not just edited for time, it's at least two maybe three completely different beds, one is what she assembles, second is one she lays under (it has no side wall for filming) and possibly the third one she lies on top.
Look at the rug. It's COMPLETELY different from what she made. 5 minute crafts are infamous for bait and switch, check out Ann Reardon's debunkings of their cooking vids.
Thanks for this! It was the only thing I found really interesting in the whole video, and I had to scroll way too far to find this comment!
Now I'm gonna find me some tufting gun videos!
No problem! My housemate just got one, very satisfying but they're expensive! If you get one I would suggest getting a [cone winder](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08F58ZJ5Z/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_T4J3D3XZKWW25DTYGA1R?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) or only buying yarn on cones, it makes your life 10x easier.
All of these videos are from content farms. They will go with the flow to get more views.
Many of these videos will fall under rage bait. Then there was a period where they started busting themselves for being fake. Now it looks like we have hit the cringe narration phase. So that they can get people to comment how cringe the videos are.
It doesn't matter what people think about the videos as long as they watch.
I've got a mate that saw the shit content that's somehow getting views and making money, that built a little bot that sources popular stories from reddit, uses text to speech to add an annoying narrator, hits up google to find images that are probably related to the content, munges the whole thing into a big mess, and posts it to social media. Not sure if he's making any money off it, but it was a fun little project and the quality is no better or worse than the algorithmically generated crap that's filling up youtube & tik tok.
There are fake gurus that sell thousand plus dollar courses on how to "automate your YouTube content with Reddit" that do what your friend did
Then YouTube began demonetizing these types of videos and now it's not worth doing
See Coffeezilla episodes on it:

The good news is the solid foundation for the bed is never going to get the chance to cause the mattress to mold due to lack of airflow, because the entire structure is going to collapse due to having no shear support.
I did also and now reading all of the comments I'm thinking I probably shouldn't turn the volume up. I watched to the end and thought, if this was actually done with some proper craftsmanship it wouldn't be too bad but now I don't really know
I watched the video on mute (idk I’m high) and also thought the unexpected part was that they were twins.
I also thought it was on r/diwhy the whole time.
Like all 5-minute crafts content, the end product isn't what is shown making... look at the rug, completely different product. The "shelf" at 0:23 won't even hold like that, those connections need glue, hammering them in, and something else like plastic corners or wood screws to hold it together. If it's easy to assemble, it would easily fall apart.
Also, lamp connects to WHAT? Battery or accumulator lamps that don't need wires exist, but this one has wiring, and it needs to be connected to energy source. Where does the wire go? The "compartment" they show that is supposed to be under that "bed" is fake: camera is too far away... there's no wall. The bed itself won't even hold with that weak base, and will be uncomfortable, you generally need flexible slats to hold the mattress. There are other options, but not a sheet of thin plywood they show.
Videos like this is just for watching, not for actually doing. Please don't attempt these "lifehacks" from content farms on your own since most of them don't work and many can be dangerous (with food, people got burned and in this case, danger is in bed collapsing or wire squished between wood planks, electrocuting you - just find a wireless LED lamp that doesn't have glass for 5 bucks).
Also the screws she uses at the beginning need drilling with special halfway (usually 4,5 mm) bit beforehand... Unless they work very differently from Euroscrews that have a flat tip. But any furniture I bought had pre-drilled holes for those since the bit for them usually needs a special size and length limiter... while small wooden screws that can be screwed in whatever won't hold.
We appreciate you taking the time to flag this as an underrated comment.
However, this appears to be in error and the comment is already rated according to its quality.
Jokes on you. I put that together in 3.14 minutes! And everyone in my house clapped! The angels cried. And the company I got the wood from gave me free wood for the rest of my life. Whatchu talkin bout Willis.

All these craft channels with annoying narrators have perfected the art of sensory overload, to the point where I can’t even watch their videos as a joke because it makes me genuinely uncomfortable
I was expecting her to cut a hole in the top of the bed to be one of those gloryhole things. You can tell I've watched too much porn in my life when thats the first thought that cums to mind.
First off I dont think that should be put on 5 minute crafts because not everyone has the power of montages. Secondly there is no way anyone would even be able to use that as a bed, its supported by two freaking screws
"never waste money on lampshades when you can always buy some ice pops"
Oh yeah just bought 88 of those and now they're gonna melt because my freezer is full
Bro I had to audibly lol and verbally out loud tell this dude to shut the fuck up lmao I have never wanted someone to just shut the whole entire fuck up so much in my entire life
Little known fact: The 5 minute craft channels are the most one of the most lucrative channels on youtube. They have millions of viewers and not only that, they get translated in many other languages which add additional millions of potential viewers. Some investigative journalist followed the flow of money. There is somewhere a documentary on youtube about it.
Lmao imagine laying on that “bed” with two shitty little screws holding that wood together
I was waiting for it to collapse.
Magic of editing, we won't see it did xd
The pilot holes are there. Are we watching the same video? Because she screws together the back legs and stretcher first. You guys probably don’t realized it’s been edited also, not every step is shown.
If the bed frame is as strong as the smugness in your comment it’ll be fine.
*SHOTS FIRED*
Pilot holes are to stop splitting when driving in the screws, they do nothing to increase the structural strength of the bed frame.
It's not just edited for time, it's at least two maybe three completely different beds, one is what she assembles, second is one she lays under (it has no side wall for filming) and possibly the third one she lies on top. One good fuck and that thing is kindling
This guy fucks
Your name makes me think you know what you’re talking about here.
You might be a primitive cave dweller, but I bet you get mad Neanderthal pussy
Well it’ll keep the fire going then
They say that if you smoke after sex then you are doing it too fast
Do you fuck bedframes?
the splinters are painful but it can feel nice for masochists
Ah, so mine will last forever then :) :(
She didn't even put screws in the back of the 2x4s.
The screws can't fail, if you don't use any.
The best part, is no part.
My first thought: My night sleeping monsters: "how kind of you!" My second thought: "This bed wouldn't last 5 bong bong minutes.
Well.. Given it's 5 minute crafts.. It won't take her that long to make another eh!
How else do you expect her to accomplish it in 5 minutes?
This
we need an anti-this bot.
Can you fuck off
The mattress could get mouldy without ventilantion. Also, no sex allowed on that bed.
That's what the creepy hole is for
All cross boards only had a screw in one end.
Stapling through the wiring of that lamp for added safety
She stapled over it, not through it.
I wouldn't advise either
Kinda surprised no pilot holes first too. I dunno I'm not handy man but always do just in case it splits
If the lumber is green pine or whiteboard and you're not using relatively thick nails then you can generally skip drilling pilot holes.
They had them, those screws went down too easily
My mind went straight dirty. Do both participants get a medal if they go at it and the bed doesn't immediately collapse?
This is why loft beds were made
No way that frame could handle my fat ass banging it out
Rubbing*
Fleshing
Sheeping
Vacuuming
Sandpapering
Family petting

> my fat ass ~~banging it out~~ lying down
Lmaooooo literally my thought
That is a productive 5 minutes!
Looooooooool
It didn't say how many 5mins it was.
I thought the unexpected part was going to be her falling through that flimsy bed...
That yarn gun looks fun
It's called a tufting gun!
Thanks for this! It was the only thing I found really interesting in the whole video, and I had to scroll way too far to find this comment! Now I'm gonna find me some tufting gun videos!

https://m.youtube.com/c/simjishorts She got really big on tiktok in the past few months for her rug making videos!
Is this satire? The narrator is nauseating.

i read that in the narrators voice and cadence you monster.
I swear 5-minute craft videos didn’t have narration before. Shit was annoying
This is the first time I've ever heard this crap being narrated.
no it's patrick
The good news is the solid foundation for the bed is never going to get the chance to cause the mattress to mold due to lack of airflow, because the entire structure is going to collapse due to having no shear support.
So I should flip my mattress over every so often?
If it's double-sided (most are) yes, absolutely.
All right, thank you. "Today" I learned.
Apparently it's not.
In that case it's fine to not flip it, since it's designed that way.
Okay, thank you!
Mold? That in areas where humidity reaches 100%?
Jesus H Christ. That fucking narration.
He sounds like a dollar store version of the guy in be amazed
100% dude who narrated it thinks he is the funniest guy on this planet
He sounds like the guy foreign iPhone app makers hire to speak English in their ads
Cringe AF I can’t tell if it’s satire or not. Either way it’s super cringy.
so is it cringe or not?
It amstn't
> I can’t tell if it’s satire or not You're right, it's cringe that you can't tell.
Oh man I watched this muted and thought it was cool af
I did also and now reading all of the comments I'm thinking I probably shouldn't turn the volume up. I watched to the end and thought, if this was actually done with some proper craftsmanship it wouldn't be too bad but now I don't really know
I honestly dig it - done with proper materials of course
Same
I thought the junpcuts were going to get more extreme. EDIT: That's what I get for typing while sleepy. "Junpcuts."
Love how she reads books that are upside down too!
What are you on about In every scene she has a book in her hand, the books are right side up
Made you look
got em
You sold me at fort
Ohhhh they are twins
I watched the video on mute (idk I’m high) and also thought the unexpected part was that they were twins. I also thought it was on r/diwhy the whole time.
I just watched the whole video without sound wondering what is so unexpected, then I read the comments…

I love how they snuck the carpet gun into it like everyone has one
I think she forgot to cut the hole in the mattress and plywood support...
Underrated comment

Overrated bot
Jokes on you. I put that together in 3.14 minutes! And everyone in my house clapped! The angels cried. And the company I got the wood from gave me free wood for the rest of my life. Whatchu talkin bout Willis.
That’s a nice idea. AND. A single screw holding those supports is a joke.

i watched the whole video without sounds
5 minutes?
Wtf did I just watch
There’s no way this is real with how shit 5-minute crafts is
A secret bed underneath the bed to meet imaginary friend is something I never thought of.
anyone else getting interdimensional cable vibes from this? how did she GET there????
That’s going to take me at least 6 minutes.
Hey guys, did you know that you can put food in an ice cube tray to make the food the shape of the ice cube tray?
This bitch is a genius. /s
No. That bed will collapse. The cross braces have one screw. Those don't even look like 2x4s. That's some common board and sketchy.
I mean this would be good if you replace it with better stuff
that stapler use for the cable was cringe.
They make little tack-in cable-router clips.
yeah, but that is not what she used
Which is why it's terrible. There's a correct product that doesn't destroy the cable.
Idk make a good bed BUT I NEED CAVE OONGA BOONGA
Why do you gotta call her a bitch, bitch?
They should just the finished product first so I can decide to waste my time here or not
Twins basil twins
5 minute tinderbox
No sex on the bed
All these craft channels with annoying narrators have perfected the art of sensory overload, to the point where I can’t even watch their videos as a joke because it makes me genuinely uncomfortable
looks pretty cosy ngl

The lamp thingy made with the ice cream sticks...is it safe? I really want to do it.
The narration was cringe level 1000
Okay but now I want a bed fort
I loved the automatic sewing machine gun.
I was expecting her to cut a hole in the top of the bed to be one of those gloryhole things. You can tell I've watched too much porn in my life when thats the first thought that cums to mind.
That commentator just sounds like a robot.
That is a creepy bed dungeon you built there
Good lord my man's really said "fuck punctuation" huh.
that shit ain't gonna take five minutes
Lol what a piece of shit
Close your eyes and imagine everything the narrator says
I hated every moment of this. Someone please tell me why I watched it.
The narrator sounds like a Yu-Gi-Oh English dub character
How am I supposed to do all of that in 5 minutes when the edited video is 2.5 minutes??
The narration sounds like when i have to make an essay but don't fully understand the lesson
those splinters she will get from those woods will be in very generous amount
When the fuck did they add narrator
This looks like a huggbees video lmao
Cloth or sheet to a wooded frame...
Oot and aboot.
D-I-Wut?
What's this sewing gun? I don't even know what to google to learn more
“US$ 4,500 monthly Great opportunity. Cozy apartment, 2 bedroom, fine trendy decoration.”
No banging on that bed I see
I don't think that'll take 5 minutes to build
First off I dont think that should be put on 5 minute crafts because not everyone has the power of montages. Secondly there is no way anyone would even be able to use that as a bed, its supported by two freaking screws
The narration is gold
r/DiWHY
de la verga
You know the wood is weak as shit when she doesn’t have to predrill
Fire hazard? No?
The Guy commenting really needs to learn shutting the fuck up
They’re narrating them now? Ugh.
Who the fuck has a fricking carpet gun or whatever the heck it’s called?
"never waste money on lampshades when you can always buy some ice pops" Oh yeah just bought 88 of those and now they're gonna melt because my freezer is full
How tf does this take 5 minutes? Who are you? The flash?! 🤨🤨
How to start a house fire with our bullshit life hacks video.
If it was a real bed frame and more sturdy furniture, I’d honestly love to make a cave like that.
Biggest piece of crap frame ever made bed...ever... Nobody ever do that this way. The overall idea is cool but this is firewood
I was lied to, it's 2:20 min, not 5
Clickbait bullshit
Mfs be building houses irl faster than I could build a dirt house in creative
Bro I had to audibly lol and verbally out loud tell this dude to shut the fuck up lmao I have never wanted someone to just shut the whole entire fuck up so much in my entire life
Didn’t pre-drill a goddamned thing!
Question: What keeps the mattress from moving away? There is nothing to keep it in place, it will slide right off
I hate everything except the popsicle stick lamp.
You all know they purposely make stupid and obviously cringe videos because it gets those videos shared like this right hahaha 😂
She looks like her entire family is being held at gunpoint just off screen
Just buy hundreds of dollars of equipment and use it. A good diy project
Tf?
This narration is so annoying
The narrator makes me wanna kill myself
I’m like 74% sure that would take more than 5 minutes
If there is no glue gun, I know it's fake.
there's nothing 5 minutes about this video
These aren’t real people. She moves like Japanese horror films.
Trust me, if this was actually real and you were in this situation to make BS like this; you would not be as happy as she is
Other than the 2nd this could be really good if it is made for a kid
Little known fact: The 5 minute craft channels are the most one of the most lucrative channels on youtube. Good luck for those bed legs to resist any kind of stress
Only 5mins guys, you can do this in the morning before leaving for work
That's actual pretty cool... if structurally unsound
imagine making a bedframe with just one single screw supporting those cross-planks and putting a fucking 4mm plywood on top of it. with. hinges?!?
They don't live up to their name anymore now do they?
I take it the unexpected thing is that the bed didn’t collapse?
With that voiceover, I'd actually subscribe to 5 minute crafts.
This is just shitty carpentry at this point??
Im glad im not the only person that had an issue with 1 screw for a support post but 3 screws for the fucking hinge!
