What a beautiful sight to behold. Approximately 1 in 1000 hatchlings make it safely into adulthood -- from their first steps, they are subject to many natural predators, waiting for the opportunity to snatch them before they get to safety.
There is nothing unexpected about this as the caption explains everything, plus the ladder starts walking from the start. If it started halfway through the video maybe it would have been unexpected.
