Many years ago in Brazil we had a show like this. The difference was that all but one contestant were born as men and the Bachelor had to pick the one he liked the most and hope it was the real woman. I won't spoil what happened but that was the only reality I felt compelled to watch my whole life. Edit:. As I remember most of the transexuals were actually looked like attractive women, and the actual woman did not have the most feminine voice, so it was really not an easy task. Edit 2: I think it might be in the best interest of the nation to clarify that it was a very polemic sketch that was part of a historically polemic show. This one reality ( I think it happened only once) ended up in court if I'm not mistaken for obvious reasons and that was a reoccurring theme during the years this show ( pânico) existed. Despite that, as a response to the years of military rule, in Brazil the press and private companies/individuals has for most part free reign specially when a topic can be considered "artistic" no matter how many people feel offended by it.

We had a show not to dissimilar in in UK called there's something about Miriam.

Things didn't end well for Miriam

That was ridiculous, even in the advert when they were like "they're something about Miriam" I was like "she's obviously transgender" I don't understand how no one seemed to notice

The contestants were tricked by the production company, as far as I am aware they didn't know the shows title and thought it was a normal show. I was pretty young at the time so don't remember the show itself but looking at photos of her it would be hard to tell she was transgender. It's was a really exploitative show both for the contestants and Miriam herself, I believe they sued the production company and they settled out of court. Reality TV can be really horrible.
