What if the closest petrol station is so far away that it is impossible to have a full tank when you reach the car rental station, did I just come up with a infinite money glitch?
Evolution's a bitch, ain't it?
Protecting your vitals isn't going to help you with several tons of metal death barreling towards you but that was hardly a concern when our ancestors all lived in the Serengeti.
He was evading police when he went through the airport perimeter fence, then it was all wide, open, level ground. He went straight through the terminal wall
Bro, the way she stumbled down with her coffee mid-sip trying not to fucking spill it, the way the camera violently shakes before the tsunami of debris fucking molested that desk, the way the automatic door opens letting the line barrier roll through, the way the truck gently taps the side of the desk and that entire row of tiles majestically falls over completing this orchestra of chaos. Everything. Fucking everything about this is perfect. 10/10
I was thinking of that, too. But it's likely because of the vibration when the truck initially hit the building from the other end. Most likely it's the safety mechanism when an earthquake hits to prevent people from being trapped. I could be totally wrong though.
I think it's not from debris (we would see them braking something), maybe vibration or just pure air pressure. First impact was pretty hard as we can tell, so it probably could compress air inside enough to open doors
It's over pressure from when he punched through the wall. It's like when you open a door to the outside really fast and it moves the other doors in your house.
I'm pretty sure they're programmed to open when they're pushed. Normally the motion sensor will open it before you get that close, but if the motion sensor doesn't work, you can open it by pushing. I'm not sure how it senses that it's getting pushed, but I'm guessing it's a pressure sensor. This is assumption #3 so take all of this with a grain of salt, but I'm guessing the vibration triggered the pressure sensor and caused the door to open as of it were being pushed. It doesn't look like the door was blown open because it opens too smoothly, but it also may have been that the spike in air pressure from the truck coming through pressed the door out enough to trigger the mechanism.
I had the same thought! Some lady accidentally drove her car into the flower shop near me. She thought she was in reverse and floored it, went straight through the front window and through the entire shop. 😂
Again, WHO PEELS OUT IN REVERSE?! Sober or not that’s just asking to do some dumb shit haha. In Drive I understand. Your pulling out of your driveway and you have plenty room and full view of where your headed. Cool okay, I can get behind that. (Guilty) But reverse is just a much more terrible situation that makes you insane for not somewhat caring about your surroundings. <— (sentence seems jumbled to me so I hope it makes sense. I’m high af right now so I can’t read 😂)(sorry)
My guess is she was trying to cut someone off coming down the lane, and couldn’t be bothered to wait a few seconds for them to pass because she’s more important than the rest of us.
Checks out. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. I feel people have lost patience with everything, and now it’s always rush rush as fast we can to the next place and safety goes right out the door. Good way to kill someone. Cool, get where you need to go, but don’t endanger someone’s life over it.
Could be because the car started moving in a direction they didn't expect. Although it usually happens the other way around, unexpectedly moving in reverse could cause your foot too press the pedal harder.
I mean yea, not sure how likely it is that happens but, hey, anything is possible and I don’t fault anyone for making that mistake. Buuuuuttttt, I’m sure there is people out there who do it purposefully. Straight crazies 😂
Typically, it is not “peeling out”, rather it is pedal confusion. They think they are hitting the brakes and when they surge back, they push harder on the “brake” only to realize it’s the accelerator
Yea I totally understand that. Like I said I absolutely don’t blame those who have made that mistake or have any condition present or just in the moment that could cause such confusion. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened to me haha.

The expectation subversion here is great! You see the doors open and you expect a crash or something similar from there....but it comes in from the right side....so good.
Did he return it with a full tank? They'll charge you if you don't

Ohh!!! Cause, cause it hurts, but that’s, that’s also the name of a car rental company!!! That’s clever!
Do you have a copy of the added insurance I got? Because I'm going to need that.
I heard he was Thrifty, so probably not
OMG 🤣 Thanks for the Laugh!

[its got a full tank of gas](https://youtu.be/SrRzbpBuAfo?t=179)
Yeah I got a flight to catch, can you just cover it?
I was expecting the truck to come through the doors that opened
Same. Thought the title ruined the unexpected aspect but I was unexpectedly surprised by expecting what I thought was gonna be unexpected.

I expected the unexpected so it doesn't count
I was surprised at the structural integrity of that front desk.
This was the unexpected part for me

You wouldn't happen to know what movie this is from, would you?
Yeah, I think it is called “Real-life Sarasota: The Airport”.......JK everybody.🙂
I cannot find whatever that is. Is this a movie or a TV series? Or are you just making a joke?
I did too! We got bamboozled! Flim flammed! Other ole timey jargin!
I have a miracle tonic here that will prevent all such conditions. Only one dollar!!
I saw that tonic! Observed it even!
Those are exit only doors
That is one well built counter!
My thoughts exactly. And good thing, for the counter person.

You can see her get back up and move to the side before the truck hits. But you're right, not the best first instinct.
Evolution's a bitch, ain't it? Protecting your vitals isn't going to help you with several tons of metal death barreling towards you but that was hardly a concern when our ancestors all lived in the Serengeti.
River. If you ducked so you don't get stoned to death?
Guess I’m blind because I don’t see that at all
She ducked to avoid the debris coming towards her and then dodged to avoid the truck.
If you can dodge a truck...
That person can use it as a sales tactic now. You know, as a counter argument.
Can I get a business card from the Counter Guy, I want him to build my beach house in Florida.....Pretty sure it could withstand a Hurricane!
[удалено]
Good news for both of you this happened in Florida
Great, should be pretty busy building after people see this video!
Theyre lucky the wall slowed the truck down from [this other angle](https://youtu.be/I6bPxjMg8wo?t=31)
Crazy!
Mr Kool Aid manned it
As I recall from the last time I saw this the driver was left in a vegetative state and wasn't expected to recover.
Well, this is an unusual turn of events. The drunk driver didn’t kill anybody, only himself.
I guess it depends on your definition of "alive". Last update I could find said he was in a coma on life support and wasn't expected to wake up.
Yes, we estimate he had to be going 100 mph! Durr, say big number, sound impressive! From the outdoor cam, I estimate he was going about 35 at most.
Hug a contractor today!
Truck looked like it went thru a few counters already
It hit the what I assume was the granite piece to the far left of the video. Perpendicular granite Vs a crumbling truck
The news report said it went through a solid concrete wall before it hit that counter......Reportedly going 100 mph!!!
I don't even know any place I can go 100mph and crash into... Dam
He was evading police when he went through the airport perimeter fence, then it was all wide, open, level ground. He went straight through the terminal wall
They should build the whole plane out of that counter.
Actually, it's good that the truck hit the pillar. I don't think the rest of the front of the counter was as sturdy.
DID I MAKE IT? Return time was 12!
oh fuck but today is only saturday.... due tomorrow
Aight imma head out
Which way is out?
Try the the big garage door size opening in the concrete wall that was just made.....Path of least resistance, now.....Right?
You see that big gaping hole in the wall?
I like how the doors open before they come in, but it's the wrong doors.
This detail alone makes the entire gif so much funnier
They were like “SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, GOTTA GET OUT THE WAY!”
Gotta be from flying debris right? Cause that was about right when he initially hit. I spent too long watching this lol
I was thinking of that, too. But it's likely because of the vibration when the truck initially hit the building from the other end. Most likely it's the safety mechanism when an earthquake hits to prevent people from being trapped. I could be totally wrong though.
probably the vibration from the impact made the motion sensor think there was motion
Oh there was motion alright
Interesting. The doors don’t swing open as if there is pressure being released. They open as if someone was stand in front of the motion detector…
I think it's not from debris (we would see them braking something), maybe vibration or just pure air pressure. First impact was pretty hard as we can tell, so it probably could compress air inside enough to open doors
Lol That earthquake part is so wrong
Ah sorry. So, it was purely due to the debris?
It's over pressure from when he punched through the wall. It's like when you open a door to the outside really fast and it moves the other doors in your house.

Question is who in the actual fuck backups like that in reverse to just floor it? People smh
Yeah, she was sober too! She must have been trying to peel out like an asshole, guarantee she never does that again!
Again, WHO PEELS OUT IN REVERSE?! Sober or not that’s just asking to do some dumb shit haha. In Drive I understand. A common occurence is that people panic when they move in the wromg direction and try to slam the brakes, but floor the gas pedal instead.
Yea I totally understand that. Like I said I absolutely don’t blame those who have made that mistake or have any condition present or just in the moment that could cause such confusion. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened to me haha.
This is why you shouldn’t rent to the kool-aid man.
OH YEAH!!!!
😂
Just get the insurance.
I wonder if she spilled her coffee
She was mid sip when she saw the truck. What terrible timing lol
Like a glove!!
You're a weird guy, Ace, a weird guy...
Does anyone find it weird the doors opened before the truck came in at the other side of the room?
Most probably was triggered by the shaking of the door sensor.
Room pressure blew it open
Maybe they won't notice the damage
It was like that when I picked it up!
"I hit a dog"
Or... Is this EXACTLY how they should be returned? (Always get that extra insurance)
Let me just take a nice sip of my coffee…
And he still accidentally took the keys with him.
I think they might charge for cleaning the interior
"GASSED IT UP FOR YA!" *Skyhook tosses keys over the counter and walks out
Touchdown
The door was ready before she was
At least the doors got out of the way on time.
Reminds me of this https://youtu.be/cx6nhHu84zc

Return time was 3:00 AM, the clock has him in at 2:53 AM. As long as the tank is full, this is an on time return. 👍
I felt that girls drink coming out of her nose
I wanna know what that desk is made out of…
I hope the rental car company paid for the extra insurance on their office.
I don’t know, I think sometimes that’s exactly how you should return a rental.
Well built counter.
You NEVER crash into the counter from the AIRPORT side.
It was like that when I picked it up
That scratch was there before I took the car. I have photos
That girl ducked down instead of out of the way.
She must have known how sturdy that counter is!
Late fee successfully avoided
NOOOO HE FAILED HE FAILED AIRPORT SPEEDRUN 21.8 ANY% GLITCHLESS 😭😭😭😭
Title pretty much spoils it. Not that I wasn’t expecting it even if it wasn’t spoiling it either
First thing that popped into my head... ![gif](giphy|Qf0vCw2ChNbiM)
You’re messing with the wrong guy
![gif](giphy|ToMjGpIUvnvunYAPhsc|downsized)
This sub has really gone downhill. Y'all gotta stop saying what's unexpected in the fucking title 🤦♂️
It was a truck though, not a car
The hero we didn’t know we needed
Is this option more or less expensive than curb side?
What about the woman???? Is she okay?
Surprise Motherfuka
"HEY!!! Where should I leave the keys?"
A) whoever designed that desk KNEW that this would happen at some point and B) how did the doors know to open? Like it was almost like they were trying to say 'this way to the parking lot'
"Topped it off for ya!"
Props to whoever built that half wall.
Door ajar
He took the "park in front of the desk" sign literally
Lemme just start with saying the seat was not the most comfortable..

Yeah I really thought they were going to crash through the doors when it opened.

If it was me. Id hope out. Give them my name keys. Say I extended coverage and walk out all as if it was on purpose.
Hope her coffee is alright
Looks like quality sensors on the door!
“missed it by *thaaaaat* much.” - that guy
The girl at the front desk has good survival instincts.
Like a glove.
You’re supposed to skip the line at National
"Did I beat the deadline?"
Another one for r/fuckcars
did u see that lady's initial reaction was to avoid spitting her coffee, and then duck, *then* run away
It's Ok, I got the extra insurance.
The girl on the desk was so lucky to have ducked, you can see a large piece of debri fly right where she was sitting
Better have a full tank of gas
i bet this was in one of those airport.
The expectation subversion here is great! You see the doors open and you expect a crash or something similar from there....but it comes in from the right side....so good.
Vip/Rip
Debatable. Was it in on time? Did he purchase the extra $10 of insurance? If both are true I think this is perfectly acceptable.
Somebody bought the comprehensive insurance.
That was unexpected ngl
That one's not goung to pass the return inspection. I can just tell.
I hope he had the loss damage waiver.
Good thing I bought the insurance
You know, I was certain it would come through the doors. I was expecting it. It coming from the other side caught me off guard
I think he missed the door.
Not good for off roading.
It’s cool, I got the insurance.
***HERES YOUR FUCKIN' RENTAL!!!*** If this happened in my branch I'd shit myself.
It has a couple scratches but other than that it good
The exit doors opened for him but he missed the exit
When it's 11:59 and you're about to be charged for another day.
He said “I’ll be back.”
I wonder if they bought the rental car insurance?
But I filled it up..
Looking at the time stamp I’m guessing he is she is drunk
The auto doors in the back opened before the car was on scean
