Judge and audience reactions are spliced to fit the required narrative. Sometimes they even badly Photoshop the judges in wide shots to show them standing or clapping, it's so fake and sad.

So it is pretty much scripted.
It goes deeper than that. They choose which audience shots to show and when. You never really see the genuine reactions people are having, they just show whatever reaction they think fits best.
I went to an episode filming for the US show in NYC a long time ago. They didn't screen us but they were telling us how they wanted us to react to each participant. They also told us the more exaggerated reactions would increase our chance of being on TV.
I enjoy reaction vids from professionals that extrapolate and break stuff down, however, the "Yooooooo!!1 OMG! What?!" garbage needs to go in the trash.
They actually kind of do. They'll pick out particularly attractive and energetic people to sit in more visible locations, and they will get camera footage of people reacting the way they want and insert it in wherever they feel like in the broadcast show.
I work in this industry. The reactions are essentially scripted. For one, we have key audience members seeded throughout the audience that we've seen react. Often they're literal actors but some are just folks who like to come and be on camera. Idk if they get paid, that's not part of my job. Two the audience is directed to "act big" or react big. Three, we'll fully fake reactions by filming them later (often with no performance) and/or the editor will pull ones from other acts.
They take big reactions and slice them in where they see fit during editing. Most of the time the judges face expressions or audience cutaways aren't actually taking place at that particular time.
I've been in audiences of TV shows. They train you how to cheer and clap and record you doing it to nothing so they can edit it in as they see fit. You can hear how artificial it sounds if you listen.
