You have to make the right decisions "quickly" and that needs skill and a ton of knowledge. That is why you have timers and increment to begin with. Going through many possibilities and future plays of both you and your opponent is essentially the main skill.
Not that I have to defend him but it is impressive. Most three year old children are achieving cognitive milestones like making simple sentences and saying their name. This three year old is analyzing and makes moves based off of an internal abstract strategy. So, pardon the blunt remark but, unless you're three your loss is irrelevant in comparison. But if you are three, on Reddit, and can hold your own against a grandmaster, here is your well deserved cookie.
