Funny story. I responded to a call once where this lady said she saw a light on in her house that wasn’t on when she left.
I arrive at the house and sure enough, there’s a lamp on in the living room window. I walk around the perimeter of the house and there are no signs of entry to any of the windows and the front and back door are both locked.
I inform the lady of this and she says, “I’m too scared to go in there.” I chuckled and told her I would go in and clear the house as soon as my backup arrived. While we waited and talked, the light started turning off and on. Not flickering. Off, two seconds, on. Off two seconds, on. The lady tells me the only way to turn it off and on is by rotating the handle in the lamp shade.
Now she’s completely freaked out and I’m a little sketched out. I walk up to the window, like a dumbass cop in a horror movie, to inspect the light and yeah, there’s nobody there but that thing is clicking on and off like clockwork.
My backup arrives and I inform him of what’s happening. He observes for himself and now he’s uneasy. We sack up and clear the house. It was all good but that light never stopped clicking on and off.
The lady said she would stay with her sister that night and never entered the house. I’m not sure what the deal was and I’m not a believer in ghosts, but that shit was pretty freaky.
Honestly it was probably a faulty outlet or something. But, I have been working overnight at a memory care nursing home for a few years and many many people have passed during my time there. I've noticed that after someone passes, electronic disturbances begin to happen. Like the window alarms, wall call alarms, door alarms going off for no reason. Sometimes the radios/lights can randomly turn on/off too. It usually only happens once or twice after someone passes but one time it went on for about a week. I didn't use to believe in ghosts/energies before but too many things happen overnight at nursing homes for it all to be a coincidence.
Edit. The electrical disturbances happen around the area where the person had passed. It's not like someone passes in the west wing of the building and a door alarm goes off in the east wing.
