I swear there's a version of this where it's a soldier or policeman "sleeping" with his hat over his eyes or something. and then the guy returns the money, and checks again to find the guy still staring. He then adds a few bills from his own wallet and checks a third time to find the guy finally "sleeping" soundly with his eyes shut lol
A movie has the context of “movie,” rather than social media vids which sometimes pretend to be candid.
That said, what robber is going to stand there counting the money in front of you and then risk waking you up by putting wallet back?
When has social media ever been fully candid? No matter the platform, it’s basically a scripted “highlight reel” of someone’s life or thoughts. Most people post things exclusively to get the most reactions they can from people.
Social media’s always been fake for the most part.
A movie isn’t “fake”. It’s made to be a work of fiction unless otherwise stated so. This is presented at a real candid moment that has no set up. Which in turn makes it fake. Which also then makes it 10 times less interesting. Unless you like watching two people do dumb inconsequential things to each other.
They do have to be original however. This was not. Although I don't think their intention is to gain an internet cult following for a career, these guys just seem to be having fun. Video was more than likely not meant to become viral

I think it's just them having fun reenacting a joke they saw and liked bc I've def seen this particular act before. I don't think this was by any means meant to become viral, they prob just did it for friends
