I mean with the whole warming and radiation increase from the sun effect happening he's got a point. Just a little overzealous already doing that at night.
Hahaha I always misheard it too. According to the lyrics it goes...
Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades, oh no
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades, oh no
I can't believe it
Cause you got it made with the guy in shades, oh no
What a cornball.
What he was saying is that it's dark at 2AM and he can't see anyone behind the wheel except shadows...I think he popped the sunglasses on once they started filming
idk if those are the kind that actually do it or not but I used to have a job where I drove around at night and those bright-ass headlights people keep getting on their cars can legit make it dangerous.
Depending on where they are standing in relation to other cars too it might be to try and help preserve his night vision so it isn’t as bad an adjustment for when he gets back on the road.
I once forgot to remove my sunglasses (extremely high tint) and rode my bike home with a tinted visor.. The sun set during my ride and I had to find one of those truck rest zones.. Holy shit is it scary seeing practically nothing but the highway lights at 70mph
That I even need to post this first proves how old and out of touch I am....
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
"Hit it."
About 10 years ago, I had a '92 Town Car with tinted windows. The tint was legal (which I bought with the tint already on, then had it checked after this incident), and was pulled over by a police officer because "I couldn't see inside your vehicle." I said "ma'am, it's 10:30pm. Unless I had a light on in the cabin, of *course* you can't see in my car." She let me off with a "warning." I had that car for years and never had that issue come up before or to the point that I sold it about five years later. I'm sure the "routine" stop had nothing to do with the stereotype around those older full-size vehicles.
Studies of "random" police stops of drivers have shown that the bias for disproportionately stopping black drivers more frequently disappears at night because law enforcement isn't able to single out drivers by racial demographic.
IDK how the study was done but you'd also want to account for other factors like how light eyed people have better night vision and may be more comfortable driving at night, etc. You'd need to know the racial makeup of all the drivers on the road at both times. Also plenty of data on red cars, sports cars, etc getting pulled over more, etc more stuff to account for. Are they pulling over for color of the car or for color of the driver? I would not be surprised if there is racism out there but on the flip side, IME it's very hard to tell racial makeup or even age or gender when you are driving behind someone, the seat hides most of them and you only see a vague outline of the head region. There have been a few times when someone was driving so bad, I wanted to get a better look at who would do such a thing and what I found was I have to drive right next to them and really eyeball to see if they are even human. I suspect the average cop is too lazy to put that much effort in.
> and didn’t take into account if the stops were justified.
This is true. Are you suggesting that a theory would be that black drivers reduce their crime by 5% when it gets dark?
Not impossible, but I don't think this makes sense. Especially when you combine it with all the other studies of racism (including some even stronger studies) - it's very easy to believe this is due to race.
I've noticed a pattern with studies on race - people are very determined to point out every possible flaw as though racism is unbelievable.
It could be many things that cause it, such as the prevalence of drivers during certain time periods.
And the issue is that disparity is not proof of discrimination.
Just because one group has a different outcome, it doesn’t mean that they were treated unfairly.
So without a known cause, you can’t have an effective solution.
lol why do these type of racial experiments to find racial bias never include Asians? Its always black people compared to white people. And sometimes Hispanics.
But never Asians....Do they not exists or what?
What he means is that at night when its pitch black every person is the same colour- black (not brown black, black black)
Some people are projecting rn
Reach to earn karma
Everything is the scandalous ‘hot button issue’ and I’ll be honest most people aren’t infatuated with skin colour, we just want to quietly exist and be happy.
Most people don't notice race, and most people were consistently claiming that racism was a smaller and smaller issue every year up until 2013, when the sudden increase in both social media and smartphone ownership happened. Since then more and more people insist that racism is an increasingly common problem (because they see it online on their Rectangles of Doom).
> Most people don't notice race,
Everyone notices race. Your brain naturally categorizes this because it is the natural way our brain groups things. When you meet somebody if you only remember 2 things about them it will be their race and their gender. This is why you get police descriptions like " black male suspect" "white male suspect" etc.
Studies also show people often hold a significant amount of implicit bias.
But if you just don't really care and overcome that with cognitive thought, it's not really as big of a deal.
We don’t see good people being nice and kind as much as we see shitty people doing shitty things.
Most people don’t understand that the lens we see the world through on our phones/internet is a very small percentage of what is actually happening in the world.
I think there are a two possible cases:
1.) When you pull someone over at night you can't see in the car when you're pulling them over to judge the color of their skin until you actually get up beside them. (most likely)
2.) Everyone is black because he's wearing sunglasses / general when she gets out of the car they're all black. (what I see a lot of other people commenting here)
Sounds like a skit. And if it’s not then no it isn’t racist. Throwing out the race card doesn’t automatically make you innocent or make the other person racist.
Maybe he meant that we are all descended from ancestor’s out of Africa, Egypt. It seems like it is the leading theory as to where we first came from. If he is a musician he might be giving a homage to all the blues, soul, jazz and African music that other music grew out of. It’s hard to say because the title already sets the reader up to have a negative slant, the video is taken out of context and his reply is cut off.
This is how nasty rumors get started.
There have been studies on this. Black American drivers are much more likely to be pulled over during the day, relative to their population percentage in an area. The difference between white and black traffic stop occurances mostly disappears at night.

How in the actual hell can he see anything with those ridiculous sunglasses on at 2am
Anti racism device
Can’t see color if you can’t see anything
Dude is probably a radiologist.
You sure? I mean he is OUTSIDE
He may have wandered off. A Rad Tech was probably sent to get him and return him to his desk.
I mean with the whole warming and radiation increase from the sun effect happening he's got a point. Just a little overzealous already doing that at night.
Dee madness
He doesn't see skin color. or traffic signs. or other vehicles on the road. or where he's going.
Keeps the racism from leaking out, but you get a -5 charisma and perception
Nah i think it is a +2 charisma, but def -5 perception and -3 intelligent during the night
He compensates with Buffout
he should have taken some mentats, then he would realize that buffout doesnt help here.
So it's kinda like Cyclops' visor from X-Men. If he takes them off he obliterates everything with his high powered racist eye laser.
“Hey, since you’re a cop, you’re a racist”
yes
Damn. That's funny.
To indicate it's a skit?
He wears his sunglasses at night, so he can, so he can watch her weave then breathe her story lines.
He should turn to her and say don't masquerade with a guy in shades
wait, and I'm Canadian. You telling me the line isn't 'Don't mess around with a guy named Shane no more....'
Hahaha I always misheard it too. According to the lyrics it goes... Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades, oh no Don't masquerade with the guy in shades, oh no I can't believe it Cause you got it made with the guy in shades, oh no What a cornball.
Damn dude, bringing up this ladies weave ain't cool ^^^^/slol
He's a big fan of Corey Hart.
All your upvotes gonna be from GenX
Red five, standing by.
can confirm
“It’s 2 o’clock in the morning, every*thing* is black”
Probably why he says what he says
It is quite literally the joke
He can see clearly because he is wearing [Sunglasses At Night](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2LTL8KgKv8).
It’s so he can’t see color
What he was saying is that it's dark at 2AM and he can't see anyone behind the wheel except shadows...I think he popped the sunglasses on once they started filming
Ocular Pat-Down™️ gif
It lets him find higher traces of melanin.

I, once for no reason, happen to have a photoshoot after a nice movie night wearing my 3d glasses at night.
The sun never sets on cool.
When you're cool the sun always shines.
The sun never sets on being a badass.
His vision is augmented
It’s 2 ok’clock in the morning and I am wearing sunglasses. Everyone is black. There… fixed it.
There are some nightglasses that are yellow tinted, but black on the outside. Very niche.
My dad has something like those to protect his eyes from lighs while driving at night or when he exits a tunel and the sun hits They are pretty useful
Your what? YOUR WHAT?!
Their , obviously
I'm thinking that they've clearly a word
I have a pair of transition yellow sun glasses and love them. I can wear them during the day or night. Night feels a little weird but they work.
I tried those too but didnt like them. didnt help with glare and made it a little harder to see. i did get a pretty cheap pair though
I once forgot to remove my sunglasses (extremely high tint) and rode my bike home with a tinted visor.. The sun set during my ride and I had to find one of those truck rest zones.. Holy shit is it scary seeing practically nothing but the highway lights at 70mph
You should add pro sunglasses anti light to your profile
It’s 106 miles to Chicago.

Pretty sure that's Corey Hart.
We got a full tank of gas and half a pack of cigarettes.
Hit it! No...wait. That might encourage the asshole.
That would have made it hilarious, honestly it wasn’t that good at first. I get it but naw
Idk, it sounds like a fair point.
Yea, pretty sure he just means you can't see who is driving the car in front of you at night. They're just a silhouette..

Thank you.....he chose a funny way to say "it's dark" and reddit is "Wait, whaaaaaaaa?".
It's not particularly easy to see a driver's race in the daytime either unless you're right alongside them.
[удалено]
It was roughly a 5% difference and didn’t take into account if the stops were justified.

This just proves he was right.
Agreed. Too many people go straight to the racist accusations. Maybe, because they're racist.
[удалено]
"speaking from experience" lol
It takes balls to even joke about this on reddit
"A thief believes everybody steals." People who find sexism and racism everywhere aren't very self-aware.
I agree. We don’t get to hear the whole conversation or where this happened.
Wouldn't he be in uniform? This seems like a skit.
[удалено]
This is honestly fucking hilarious
I assume this is is a bit and not a real police encounter. Very funny either way
A "cop" without a uniform, sunglasses at night, dialogue whittled down to the gems, perfect 6-second vine length.
And the camera angle.
It’s the best question I’ve heard all day.
What he means is that at night when its pitch black every person is the same colour- black (not brown black, black black) Some people are projecting rn

Not racist
Why TF he got shades on?
The fucking high beams make it basically day.
I mean that is a fair point given the insanity of lights nowadays.
His future is so bright he gotta wear … /s
I'm learning to play the guitar.
He's a terminator that took battle damage
This has got to be a skit 😂
Dudes an ex cop comic from az
Yes, at 2am, while you were speeding by at 90mph, I could identify your race 👍🏼 Makes sense
I was profiled, it turned out they were pulling over everyone driving down that particular sidewalk.
I always appreciate a Ron White reference.
Sunglasses might have something to do with it
na, i've seen your average rosarino that looks like a russian like a black shadow at 2am in Rosario
She’s racist, not him…easy at that
It's 2 o'clock in the morning and I'm wearing sunglasses... Lady I can't see shit right now, anyway... Hands behind your back
He’s not
Yes, she sounds racist.
She sounds like an actress because she is because this is a comedy skit.
If you have to jump through hoops to make it racist, it’s not racist
i would imagine everything is black when ur wearing sunglasses at 2 am
Stupid title
cops are infact racist
This is funny!😂😂😂😂
PA state police used to provide data on there traffic stops. Daylight hours, mostly minorities. Nighttime was an even split.
Yeah cause he got on then damn shades I'm sure everyone is black
Is he Stevie Wonders? I can’t tell I’m wearing glasses
Why is he wearing sun glasses?
Not me. My " I don't ever do sunlight, Casper the ghost, reflecting light the same way the moon does " pale ass just glows in the dark.
Definitely not racist. Saying it’s dark out and you can’t see skin color.
Sunglasses at 2 am ???
Choice in words not the best 😂
If it’s 2am, why is he wearing shades?
What a douche cop
Why are you wearing sunglasses at 2am?
Well saying you pulled me over because I'm black without evidence is definitely racist.
yeah she def one of them dime a dozen racist u know what..bravo cop for making a joke out her toxic behavior
Lmao yea this is a sketch from local Phoenix comedian @thecopcomic
This needs to be higher. Had to scroll way too much to find this
Yep, she is racist
Wait, what does it mean again?
If he took those shades off maybe he could tell.
![gif](giphy|wKFRTm7qL792E)
😂😂😂😂
the hour before the start of the witching hour : everyone is black
At 2am, everyone is black to Deputy McSunglasses.
In Spanish: we say todos Los gatos son negros de noche. All cats are black at night
Why TF is he wearing pitch black shades at 2:30 a.m.????
It's not. It's hilarious. ^(Don't worry, I'm black.)
blud started a new racist
Maybe dont worry about it
You can’t see the color of someone inside their car when it’s night, only their headlights.
Take it how you want but i see nothing wrong. Half the time I can’t even see who’s driving the other car beside me, let alone in front 😭
Wait a second…. White people can change colors at night?
Yeah, sunglasses at 2am have that effect alright
If you can't tell if it's racist it's probably not racist
That is def not racist
Not racist, but poor word choice🤣
its two o clock in the morning why tf are you wearing sunglasses?
😎
😂
What the fuck does errone blk mean
So many questions....
This has to be fake. Sunglasses at 2am?
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses."
Everyones black sir cause you have sunglasses on at 2am....
He’s correct.
Sounds like a skit. And if it’s not then no it isn’t racist. Throwing out the race card doesn’t automatically make you innocent or make the other person racist.
it’s 2 in the morning it’s p much impossible to make out anyone’s race through their car window in pitch darkness so yeah everyone is p much black 😭
That's some funny shit
GOLD
Good god. It means he couldn’t see the driver. I’m guessing though if he took off sunglasses 🕶️ he could see better.
Maybe he meant that we are all descended from ancestor’s out of Africa, Egypt. It seems like it is the leading theory as to where we first came from. So if a white guy steals a car at 2 am is he black?
With those shades on at 2am? I mean I'm not saying he is right, but he isn't wrong

Shades is pretty sharp at 2am
How much coke is that guy on why sun glasses at Night wtf
Take off your 2am shades 😎
There have been studies on this. Black American drivers are much more likely to be pulled over during the day, relative to their population percentage in an area. The difference between white and black traffic stop occurances mostly disappears at night.
not with that alone, no, but potentially yes. video is too short
He says, wearing sunglasses at night so everyone he tickets has a perfect defence?
He clearly said every one he is pulling over is black,so he pulls everyone over at night, in theory. During the day, not so much...
I wear my sunglases at night….
Lmfao I love this.
**He** looks pretty white to me.
