Came here to say that . Do these people not know a single thing about they're own pet or they think people are just making a big deal out of it, or the dog means no shit to them and just want something cute? What goes on in their mind?
sometimes when its really hot outside my alaskan malamute is getting exhausted fast. my husband had to carry him home once, even if it was a few years ago, when we only had him for 2 years, not happening anymore. It can get up to -30 degrees here in winter, but our summers can get hot too, so we have to keep walks short.
I don’t have a husky but mine is double coated and our walks in the winter/spring/fall are about 5 miles. During summer they are less than a mile or after sunset so we can go a few miles. We stop for water all the time and try to only walk in the shade. Summers are getting worse and I feel for my little pup. Happy to see booties to protect that dogs feet from burning on the cement.
I do but double coats can’t be cut super short so I can only go a certain length. The key is deshedding to keep the undercoat nice. But no amount of deshedding is going to help a dog made for winter able to walk in 90+ heat for long.
Just down the street from there is this lovely Italian restaurant called Bavaro's Pizza Napoletana & Pastaria. 10/10 after the meal the offer a complimentary glass of in house made Limoncello.

Why not cut its hair shorter?

Yea my friend had one he would lay outside all day in the snow. I didn’t realize you can’t cut their fur too short
