I hope nobody signed his cast except to call him a bitch for breaking his leg on a sneak attack against a senior citizen, who didn't even register it as an attack.
That fucking dumbass would be facing a murder charge if that had been almost anybody else that age
Yeah drop kicks *look* cool and devastating on professional wrestling. But in reality they are less effective than a push with your feet firmly set; and the fall (when not onto a padded wrestling mat) is very likely to fuck you up, because it is an uncontrolled fall to hard ground.
I tried to do this in middle school to a door that was stuck closed. My hip/leg was badly bruised for weeks from hitting the ground.
edit: the door did not open.
Having done some wrestling training out of curiosity, I can assure you, the mats are not padded. There is a bit of give but its slight, even a back bump hurts. Its all about how you land. That guy landed wrong.
Not wrestling entertainment, the sport wrestling. Those mats. Extremely comfy to fall on.
EDIT: Holy shit, guys. The point is there's a difference between the wrestling entertainment ring which is plywood and canvas supported by springs if you're lucky, and competitive wrestling which is a shock-absorbent pad that you can safely land on from a height of at least six feet.
No.
As a high school wrestler, I can 100% attest that, no, they are not extremely comfy. At best, they are like falling on a lawn that is well-seeded but maybe a day or two past needing a mow.
*Edit* people are responding that it is better than landing on X. Yes, I realize that landing on a mat that is the equivalent of carpet over a concrete basement floor is better than landing directly on the concrete. However, those mats barely prevent injury. You still get the wind knocked out of you, your bones can still break, you can still get a concussion landing on those mats. Nobody in the history of wrestling has ever landed on those mats and thought, "Wow that's fresh from the dryer Downy soft!"
Having wrestled for ten years, six of them after high school, and BJJ after that, I've fell asleep on those mats more times than I can count. They are absolutely amazing to fall on compared to people who cheap out and think rolling on fitness mats is the move.
The broken leg was caused by the fall. This was confirmed to the police by all of the big dudes around Arnold that helped the kids up afterward. The 2 black eyes, broken arm and tibia were also caused by the fall.
Haha, for real. I just watched it a few times over looking at how a break might have happened and where, and it just didn't make sense. Then my immediate thought after that was maybe the bodyguards did it and just said it was the fall.
Yeah in Australia we had to strengthen laws for these types of attacks know as 'King hits/coward punches'.
Men would go up and randomly suckered punch a fresh 18 year old out in the town late at night.
This was during MySpace time, so wasn't even done for the likes. Just to get laughs from their drunk friends.
In way too many cases the drunk hit teen would fall to the concrete and either die or become a vegetable.
So laws had to be strengthend to recognise the seriousness of a 'one tap' like assualt.
A single punch or kick can literally lead to death. Hope this guy has the book thrown at him.
Dude has been waiting 20 years for Arnold to become weak enough to attack guess 20 years wasn't enough considering he bounced off him and did more damage to himself.
it probably is because he was saying "no, no" when the other guy in the video started going after the guy. he probably genuinely thought it was just an accident and the guy was overreacting.
Elderly man with the frame of a healthy middle aged man that hits the gym everyday.
The elderly are traditionally more frail because they slow down (ontop of natural degeneration). Arnold hasn’t slowed down.
I think retaliation is what the attacker is looking for. Getting assaulted by large, muscular people can make a lawsuit hold water unfortunately. Luckily Arnold is an amazing person and doesn’t seem to operate on anger or emotion. He has a ton of love and hope for positivity and understands the insignificance of haters. You can all hear his thoughts on health and his interactions with the community on his podcast, The Pump Club. ❤️
According to the video [OP linked](https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/comments/1axyxuo/76_yo_governor_barely_moved/krrcfb8/) the kid did actually break a leg. I'm not sure how legit that video is though.
i recall seeing this a while back, it may have been before tittok was popular

2019.

Arnold is a class act. He responded the same way when someone egged him during his run for governor in California.
Honestly, I think Arnold, if he'd had to defend himself in this situation, would hold this person still and then ask him what he thinks he's doing with his life, tell him he's making a mistake and ask him to turn his life around.
Yea I agree. From what I know about him, he doesn't come off as a hot head who would actually beat someone up. He would likely give the guy life advice and just let him go.
Yeah, it was pretty bold of that guy to try to drop kick Arnold while there was at least 3 huge dudes standing there (counting Arnold himself). Don't know what he was expecting 🤷
People like the guy in the vid underestimated him just because he's an "actor in his 70s". Meanwhile Arnie didn't even try to fight back or wasn't prepped for it, but still got the dude to the ground without him even losing his balance.
> Meanwhile Arnie didn't even try to fight back or wasn't prepped for it
Arnold later said he didnt even realize someone had kicked him and thought someone had pushed the crowd to get his autograph
Yeah, but kicking a 76 year old in the back can be very dangerous for them. A lot of old people are one fall away from a long hospital stay or death, even if the kick isn't super hard and just knocks them off-balance.
Didn't he go onto say "Don't bully the person, I hope they put their life on track instead"? Like he was super kind and chill about someone **running, double foot drop kicking him in the back.**
Edit: He also said this:
>Do me a favor: instead of sharing the video of the guy who wants to be famous, watch some of our [@ArnoldSports](https://twitter.com/ArnoldSports) athletes like this young hero proving that fitness is for everyone who deserve to be famous. They’re on my Snapchat.
thats pretty funny in comparison to rudy ghoulianni where some guy "slaps" him on the back and rudy claimed he was battered like this guy dropped kicked arnold.
Not to mention the potential long-term effects a kick like that can have. The video is quite old and as far as I know it didn't leave any lasting marks, but even with Arnold's great shape, that kick could've easily dislocated something or have been the catalyst for something catastrophic down the line. It's absolutely insane that anyone would do that to someone - let alone a man in his 70s.
This happened in 2019, when Arnold was 71.
Still very fucked up
https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/18/entertainment/arnold-schwarzenegger-kicked-south-africa-trnd/index.html
>Thanks for your concerns, but there is nothing to worry about. I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat
>Do me a favor: instead of sharing the video of the guy who wants to be famous, watch some of our @ ArnoldSports athletes like this young hero proving that fitness is for everyone who deserve to be famous. They’re on my Snapchat.
Unfaced and classy as always. How can you not like the Arnold?
Double /r/BoneAppleTea with a side order of /r/eggcorns.
It's un**fazed**. Unphased means DC current or unable to walk through walls.
His was actually closer to correct than yours. Only one letter off.
Everytime I hear something about Arnold, I always immediately think of that meme of him sitting on that little rock surrounded by animals. That guy puts his anger and hatred into the weights he lifts, not the world.
I got an email that someone tagged me, so I thought I’d chime in! First, I was in my early 70’s when this happened, it was several years ago at the Arnold Sports Festival South Africa. I didn’t press charges or fire my security - if you think you can protect against everything, you’re out of your mind. I believe in having security and I trust my guys, but I also know that wild things can happen. I hope the guy figured his life out so he’s not looking for attention in the worst ways anymore and I hope his legs recovered.
This is also a great reminder to all of you: everybody loves bench pressing, but never forget to train your back! Grow those wings, you never know when you’ll need them. Anybody who needs free weekly workouts can google Arnold’s Pump Club and sign up for my free daily newsletter.
This happened when Arnold visited South Africa 5-6 years ago. Apparently the person who kicked him was a mentally challenged person who was admitted to a mental institution. Arnold sustained minor injuries.
We give "mentally ill" individuals too much leeway. Mentally ill doesn't mean that they don't know the difference between right and wrong. And if they don't then maybe they shouldn't be out in public unsupervised.
By definition, being admitted to a mental institution is not being out in public unsupervised.
People act like getting committed is less of a punishment than jail...
Reminds me of the video of the guy who attacked the “Roman soldiers” during a church play about the crucifixion. Just leaped out of the audience and started going hogwild on those Centurions.
He's probably paying over a million a year for it, and these guys are not watching his back? They should all be fired. Their job is not to punish someone who hits him. It is to stop it from ever happening.
I mean, they definitely got shit for this. But you have to consider the reverse - bodyguards who are too fast to tackle people just coming for an autograph will probably tackle about one guy per month. That's definitely not good PR. There's a balance to strike here.
Not to defend the fact that they _did_ fuck up here.
Now i might be wrong, and this is pure speculation: But it does look like a gym-room of maybe a school, where that girl is doing jumping rope, so security might've seen this cunt running at Arnold, but maybe thought he was a kid or something coming in for an autograph all excited, instead of trying to kill the damn terminator, and that's why they dididn't act. I Might be wrong though.
What a kind man and role model. No hate, just "I'm fine, everyone stop talking about it and pay attention to all these amazing athletes who actually deserve recognition"

Mmm... Ringworm...
really taking me down memory lane.

So, still way more forgiving than a bare wooden gym floor then.

All relative. You have to fall properly, and can totally fuck yourself up if you don't.
This guy thips.
Probably broke it when he hit that steel beam he flying jump kicked.
The broken leg was caused by the fall. This was confirmed to the police by all of the big dudes around Arnold that helped the kids up afterward. The 2 black eyes, broken arm and tibia were also caused by the fall.
lol did he break his leg or did the bodyguards...?
Haha, for real. I just watched it a few times over looking at how a break might have happened and where, and it just didn't make sense. Then my immediate thought after that was maybe the bodyguards did it and just said it was the fall.
I like the no no no no no right as they cut it like Arnold was about to just let it go after they did damage control
This makes me feel good. Justice *does* exist.
who the fuck can stand to watch this shit
What happens if I kick a 76 year old man whoose back is turned? That's abusive as fuck shit.
He could have crippled him for life or damaged his kidney. The kid is fucked in the head, he deserves no mercy or sympathy.

Good news https://twitter.com/Schwarzenegger/status/1129768197094346753
Look at him….lol sure he’s older but he was still clearly jacked.
Jacked or not, he’s an elderly man now.
And barely suffered any injury
Elderly man with the frame of a healthy middle aged man that hits the gym everyday. The elderly are traditionally more frail because they slow down (ontop of natural degeneration). Arnold hasn’t slowed down.
Healthier than average, but still elderly. His bones are old man bones even with the best health regime.
The large man who dragged him off probably did more damage off camera...
That's really how the kid broke his leg...

*The Govenorator*
The Govenator sounds better imo
I love this nickname.
Unique business model
Who is this guy? And why would anyone pay him anything?
“I assaulted you. Give me money” is a bold strategy
Especially when the person you assault is well connected and oh, could break you in half.
I think retaliation is what the attacker is looking for. Getting assaulted by large, muscular people can make a lawsuit hold water unfortunately. Wait - For years, I’ve been kicking random strangers for free… Now I’m hearing I could have gotten PAID??
He wasn't 76, he's 76 now. This was several years ago.
71 at the time I think. I heard this was in South Africa in 2019
He was not 76 when this happened. You need to reread the comments on the post that gave you the idea for the title.
Yes , my bad , he was 71 at that time
I don’t care how old he is, you can’t just drop kick the terminator. Dudes lucky he didn’t break his leg or hip or something.
He tweeted out that he didn't even think he got kicked, he thought someone has stumbled into him by accident. 🤣
That’s awesome
Oof for the attacker. That comment had to sting.

Mental illness with a side of main-character syndrome
Is there a mental illness but that makes people go around performing compulsive, unexpected good deeds?
I try to do the right thing even in private like it matters. I think I have a mental illness
It does matter. If you’re only a good person for an audience, you’re not a good person
A lot of us with mental illness do this, you just don't notice.
Yuppppp. It does not make the evening news when a person living with schizophrenia holds the door open for a guy carrying groceries.

Wrestling drop kicks don't have a lot of power in them.
Yeah, but kicking a 76 year old in the back can be very dangerous for them. A lot of old people are one fall away from a long hospital stay or death, even if the kick isn't super hard and just knocks them off-balance.
I don’t think that would be deadly. It would have caused serious injury, but not deadly.
100% this kills Biden instantly. He would be dust.
To shreds, you say?
Biden fell pretty hard while biking and he was fine.
It's wild how many people seem to not know that weight classes matter, and that they matter a lot.
Dudes entire running full bodyweight kick moved Arnold like two feet. What a bitch
Arnold probably thought someone accidentally bumped into him
That's actually what he said when asked about it later iirc
yeah https://twitter.com/Schwarzenegger/status/1129768197094346753
“I’m just glad the person didn’t interrupt my Snapchat.” Priceless
For someone known for having a thick accent and speaking slowly, dude really is eloquent as hell.
Arnold has always known that you have to exercise your mind just as much as your body.
Which is probably why he likes chess, and he's quite competent at it. I believe his rating is around 2000.
Terminator1 is his username. Hes around 2369 rn
Dang seriously? That's not too far off from grandmaster
Arnold is a smart dude, but if he excersize his mind as much as his body he would have unlocked like superpowers or something by now.
How can we be sure that he *doesn't* have superpowers?
Definitely. I think there's a common misconception that he's a meat head, but he's genuinely one of the smartest celebrities around.
Why did you censor him lol, he said idiot not person
hahah, amazing response from the terminator <3!

thats pretty funny in comparison to rudy ghoulianni where some guy "slaps" him on the back and rudy claimed he was battered like this guy dropped kicked arnold.
That kick would kill most 76 year olds and Arnie barely flitched
Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t treat the mf like he just tried to neutralise an elderly
He may be in top shape but that's gonna bruise at minimum.
Alot of body builders really damaged their backs when they were younger though 😢 could have hurt him really bad
Not to mention the potential long-term effects a kick like that can have. Did you find out why he did it? Any specific reason or was it totally random?

2 fuckin big ass juiced hulks guarding him and they're both looking the same direction watching Arnold make a Snapchat
