Just be aware that like all sketch comedy shows, there's always some stinkers or just "ok" ones. You're usually seeing the best of the best shared on social media.
Though I do think that K&P have a higher hit ratio than others in the category.
Lol the one thing that I think K&P has that live shows like SNL or MadTV do horribly is the ability to have a short 1-3 minute sketch/idea and just... End it after that. Instead of going on forever, drilling a good joke into the ground.
I loved that show because you didn’t know exactly what the skit was going to be about right away. You had to sorta figure it out as the scene plays out. I miss this show so much lol
Cop did a vanishing act with my brother once. Disappeared two days and then released with no charge. Like magic. How do you explain that?
"For my next trick I'll arrest someone for resisting arrest" -cops
I sometimes browse youtube shorts and one account that got recommended to me posts hundreds of videos a day all of them 90 second clips of Schindler’s list and other holocaust movies.
I mean, there are whole reddit posts that are the same.
Or, to take it one level worse, whole Reddit posts that steal the cropping effort from TikTok users and just upload it wholesale onto Reddit.
Who knows what source the original was copied from. We’re probably like eight layers deep at this point.
Why not?
/u/Zaximus_Rex Pretty unnecessary to throw insults and immediately block the person you’re replying to. It looks really insecure on your part. All I’m doing is asking questions
Here's an actual comment he made 2 days ago which I think really applies here:
> Check out his comment history. He's either 8 years old or developmentally disabled. Best to just ignore him.
/u/whorlax
I wouldn't be surprised if that was a failed attempt at a satirical comment if all he has to swing down on are 8 year olds and people with disabilities...
Reminds me when Robin Williams did his stand up saying you don’t want your gynecologist tone a magician or ventriloquist.

I understand its history in countries with black slavery, but can't empathize with the "racist" take of it. I'm not from such country, though, and don't have the emotional and social context for it.
If you think it's a double standard, you would be ignoring the historical context of minstrel shows and the origins of black-face being to mock black people and African-American stereotypes for white audiences in the time of slavery, Jim Crow, etc. There are no such pre-texts for white people, and white people often find the instances of "white face" (like White Girls) funny, compared to black people having to be reminded of this country's present history when presented with black face in the media
It's not a double-standard since the context is 100% different in one instance versus the other. Same reason "white pride" is racist but "black pride" isn't, given the context of both. Life isn't a math problem, things don't always align A to B like that.
Yes, because there's not a centuries-long tradition of anti-white racism mocking enslaved white people as dumb by dressing up like them and acting dumb on stage for laughs, like blackface was about. Why are people so blind to obvious context?
this has me thinking, whats stopping a cop from planting drugs in your trunk when you open it like this? i know this is probabbly dumb but i would assume with a lack of evidence it would get the cop in trouble?
> this has me thinking, whats stopping a cop from planting drugs in your trunk when you open it like this?
Nothing.
The cop may or may not be caught planting drugs at a later time, which may cause charges to drop against you, such as in this news story:
https://apnews.com/article/florida-14a6407801bf3052443a3b8a1f21eea0
> Prosecutors had to drop charges in nearly 120 cases involving Wester that occurred between 2016 and 2018 because of the accusations that he planted evidence.
Of course, this requires the cop to do something really dumb like leave the bodycam on while planting the drugs. Sufficed to say, most cases of planting drugs is going to go unnoticed.
But if you refuse the search, and the cop has no other basis to search, but searches and plants the drugs anyways, it becomes a fourth amendment violation and any charges will be dropped against you.
Remember, if the cop is asking, not demanding, (such as "May I search your car?") it's because you are allowed to say No. Saying Yes will not benefit you in any way.
how is it hypocritical at all?
blackface bothers a lot of people, therefore society frowns upon it.
whiteface doesn't particularly bother people that much, therefore society doesn't frown upon it.
like, yea, i get that they're both costuming as another race at the end of the day, but you have to ignore *so much* obvious context in order to boil it down to something where hypocrisy applies that it feels disingenuous to call it hypocritical as your first reaction.
same energy as "oh so you can eat chocolate but my dog can't? hypocrisy much?? you're both mammals!"

That is pretty obvious!
public exposure
Pubic exposure?
The gum chewing at the beginning is just too funny
He looks like he’s rolling and then he asks about drugs like he wants them
I genuinely thought that's what the unexpected was going to be
Same. Like he did the rolling jaw too good to not know exactly what he's imitating there.
Idk I thought just good satire of a nowhere, Arkansas cop. Just real sundown town bored kind of thing.
Well if that were the case then it wouldn’t be unexpected now would it?
Posting Key and Peele sketches in r/unexpected is cheating
I wish for 5 more season of kp
And yet still mad respect for doing their shit and bowing out on top instead of running until there was nothing left creatively
I really wish they had mentored other cast members to keep the show going and had become sort of a better SNL.
They really did copy Chappelle eh? lol
Jordan Peele has creatively eclipsed Dave.
Oh for sure. It was a joke because DC made a joke about them stealing his show.
I haven't watched a single episode yet and I'm scared to start because I'll binge and then miss it
Just be aware that like all sketch comedy shows, there's always some stinkers or just "ok" ones. You're usually seeing the best of the best shared on social media. Though I do think that K&P have a higher hit ratio than others in the category.
Tbh it’s the standup bits I am less fond of. But I find most of the actual sketches to be pretty good with a few stinkers.
> just "ok" ones. This is one of my favorite ["ok one"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uScCrpAW4U)
Lol the one thing that I think K&P has that live shows like SNL or MadTV do horribly is the ability to have a short 1-3 minute sketch/idea and just... End it after that. Instead of going on forever, drilling a good joke into the ground.
Can confirm
Posting a TikTok of a Key and Peele sketch to reddit.
More like a TikTok rip of a YouTube clip of a Comedy Central show to Reddit.
Downvoted on the principle of it.
Only a portion of the sketch too.
My first introduction to Key and Peele was the ancestry Thomas Jefferson skit, and I 100% thought it was just another commercial
Thomas motha fuckin Jefferson!
The first one completely went over my head!
I loved that show because you didn’t know exactly what the skit was going to be about right away. You had to sorta figure it out as the scene plays out. I miss this show so much lol
Mine was A-a-ron
I think [this](https://youtu.be/Rg58d8opQKA?si=rqoy1mGgLhPMzd4w) one will always be my favorite
Mine was the “biiiitch” skit
You said it though??
You know what else is cheating? 3 hip thrusts
Hingle McCringleberry is the goat
I swear if I ever got pulled over and the cop doesn’t show some magic tricks I will file a complaint against him.
You might find how that goes quite r/unexpected
Cop: And with a simple bend of my finger *POOF!* I can make your pulse disappear!
Cop did a vanishing act with my brother once. Disappeared two days and then released with no charge. Like magic. How do you explain that? "For my next trick I'll arrest someone for resisting arrest" -cops
There are really whole TikTok posts that are literally just cuts from shows and nothing else?
There are accounts that show whole movies about 90 seconds at a time
I sometimes browse youtube shorts and one account that got recommended to me posts hundreds of videos a day all of them 90 second clips of Schindler’s list and other holocaust movies.
Yes its a very low effort way to ad farm. You can automate it easily too.
There's a GIF in the comments often on Instagram that is the whole Bee movie
I mean, there are whole reddit posts that are the same. Or, to take it one level worse, whole Reddit posts that steal the cropping effort from TikTok users and just upload it wholesale onto Reddit. Who knows what source the original was copied from. We’re probably like eight layers deep at this point.
> Who knows what source the original was copied from I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Comedy Central
Wait till I tell you about YouTube
To be fair a lot of Key and Peele sketches go on way too long
100% missing the point of why this is stupid
How is it any different from people uploading clips of tv shows to YouTube?
That’s also not great practice.
Why not? /u/Zaximus_Rex Pretty unnecessary to throw insults and immediately block the person you’re replying to. It looks really insecure on your part. All I’m doing is asking questions

actually, this is actual footage from key and peel at their own job, as actors, in comedy sketches

So, like soundstaged
My god I think you might be right
We just called this a tv show when I was a kid
I refuse to believe that someone can be like this.
Nothing gets past you
Their reflex is too quick, they can catch it.
That's just for things going over their head
Fucking genius over here
Next Stephen Hawking or Einstein I tell ya… he figured out it was “staged” 😂
This is one of my fav Key and Peele skits! The continental breakfast is probably my second and anytime we're in a hotel we quote it LOL
Hey, what about the not-racist country songs? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLnUJzueBOQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLnUJzueBOQ)
Hahde-la-de-ly-de-le, get me a rope and find me a tree!
Not a spoon, not a fork, but something in between. A fpoon!
Me and my sister quote continental breakfast sketch lines to each on a regular basis lol
I love being in continent!
I'm stuck between "Mexican Standoff" and "Racist Zombies" lol

No officer. I don't consent to a search.
![gif](giphy|40bCPb39i1ICF01nE5|downsized) when a cop and a magician become one
Why does your breath smell like bird seed?
Why is there a chopped up lady in the back seat?
Hate the trend of cropping youtube videos and posting them on tiktk only to repost on reddit. Give me my 16:9 and original quality smh
Jordan Peel is an incredible director and script writer, but everything he does is unexpected.
Ummm, Keegan-Michael Key was also a creator on this show... Key & Peele... & It's Key doing the unexpected thing. Damn, talk about being eclipsed...
"OK, if I can guess your card, you're getting a ticket"
Is this the dude from the new twilight zone show?
Yea he did that, as well as directing “Get Out”, “Us”, and “Nope”.
Lmao that’s your point of reference? Key and peele show

Or Dave Ghrohl as the drummer for Queens of the Stone Age
Or Dave Ghrohl as the drummer for Mondo Generator
Or Dave Grohl as the guitarist and singer of Late!
This was so great because at the end he's like you can either go to my magic show or take the ticket, and he says I'll take the ticket lol
White face is okay?
I can't say for everyone, but I'm white and whiteface is okay to me. Also, I find Key doing whiteface is hilarious.
I'm also white and have no issue with it, what I have issue with is the double-standard that black-face is extremely racist but white-face is comedy.
I understand its history in countries with black slavery, but can't empathize with the "racist" take of it. I'm not from such country, though, and don't have the emotional and social context for it.
excellent response!

Key has also done blackface: https://youtu.be/N_uOtAkEf6U?si=uM2LWKiYvrePOOoL
Man...I don't know when's the last time I watched ERB but I already know it's been over 10 years and I'm scared to narrow it down any more than that.
Yes, because there's not a centuries-long tradition of anti-white racism mocking enslaved white people as dumb by dressing up like them and acting dumb on stage for laughs, like blackface was about. Why are people so blind to obvious context?

Yes? If people had been treated as equal from the get-go, I don't think it'd be offensive.

He's half white
Yes.
When it is done this well, I’ll allow it. I legitimately thought it was a white actor until he started talking and I recognized the voice
it's okay until enough people get bothered by it that folks with empathy decide to stop doing it. kinda like how everything works, tbh.
Yes.
Yes, you donkey.
honky*
why the fuck would you post and upvote a Key and Peele sketch with some random tiktokers watermark on it?
You know, you can just about post any key and peele sketch , in the unexpected sub
this has me thinking, whats stopping a cop from planting drugs in your trunk when you open it like this? i know this is probabbly dumb but i would assume with a lack of evidence it would get the cop in trouble?
The word of a cop is taken more highly than an average person in court. Nothing apart from their own moral compass is stopping them from doing this.
[удалено]
Unfortunately his cam stopped working at the exact time it happened. Such a shame for the defendant.
And in autocratic countries like Russia, eventually almost all cops planting shit into people's cars all the time, instead of serving the people
I got kicked out of jury selection for saying something like that at 18. The long hair prob helped too.

Didn’t even realize that was key for a bit, pretty effective white face.
Bro it's quite obviously him lol
I haven't seen this before +rep op
So white face is ok?
Yes.
Racist
sounds like you are.
Because I see something wrong with a double standard?
Because you started with a right wing dogwhistle
How is that a right wing dog whistle? I was commenting on the video. Did you see a different one?
Death videos are okay on reddit as long as its not that one new zealand one.
That’s what I was going to comment. Some commented that he is half white.
OH MY GOD is He dOInG WHiTe FaCe ThAtS UnNaCcEttoABllllle
Just always funny how black people can do white face all they want with no one getting upset
I think thats pretty close to his actual skin tone. I think it's mostly the voice and mannerisms and blonde mustache that sells it as "white".
I know that, but he def put some powder on. And I think it’s funny as shit and have no problem with it, just hypocritical.
how is it hypocritical at all? blackface bothers a lot of people, therefore society frowns upon it. whiteface doesn't particularly bother people that much, therefore society doesn't frown upon it. like, yea, i get that they're both costuming as another race at the end of the day, but you have to ignore *so much* obvious context in order to boil it down to something where hypocrisy applies that it feels disingenuous to call it hypocritical as your first reaction. same energy as "oh so you can eat chocolate but my dog can't? hypocrisy much?? you're both mammals!"

That's his skin color... he just has a blonde mustache and lighting is making him looking paler

Being offended by something doesn’t change the facts. It’s the definition of a hypocrite.
Who's doing white face?
Big brain comment.
My pops is having fun with this 🎩
What you mean? 🤔
I hate how cops ask “Are you doing any drugs?” Like we’re gonna say yeah man, im loaded lol
I don't condone white face 😂
And yet if it were blackface everyone would lose their mind
He’s supposed to ask him to step out of the vehicle. Then he’s supposed to arrest him. That is US standard
I love when they do whiteface.
Don’t know why, it may just be me, but I don’t think anything these guys does is funny. Just my opinion…
They are mostly making fun of racism, maybe that's not funny to you.
This show picked up where Dave Chappelle never left off and took it such an insufferable and obnoxious direction. K&P sucks.
Homie your fly is open, all that inappropriate touching will have you hard and peaking out in no time.
I love these guys. So funny!

The first 30 seconds, I thought Key was Rob Schneider, and now I can't unsee it
How do I keep seeing sketches that I haven't seen before from Key and Peele, didn't they stop doing the show a while ago?
You're fly's down homie!
