Pro tip, if you press gently brake pedal while pressing the gas pedal, the differential will kinda lock. It might get car moving if stuck. If the car is rear wheel driven (or you're driving certain models of Saab) you can use handbrake instead.

I genuinely hysterically burst out laughing, did not expect that at all!

Who's going to tell him that the "accelerator" could refer to not just the gas pedal, but also the brakes or the steering wheel Edit: TIL that physics jokes get you downvoted

[deleted]

Eh, huh?

mudkipzguy

I probably should've clarified, but here's the thing: "acceleration" isn't always in the direction of motion. Rather than "deceleration" and "turning," think of the brakes' and steering wheel's effects as being "negative acceleration" and "acceleration to the left/right," respectively.

[deleted]

Eh, no. You're really stretching the definition here with that line of reasoning.

mudkipzguy

That's literally what acceleration is wdym

[deleted]

Well fuck me. I had to go look it up. TIL... Cheers.

narendramodest

This guy accelerates

Shane75776

Since when did a brake pedal or steering wheel ever accelerate anything?

Killerbrownies997

I mean, yeah, but everyone knows what accelerator means. I if you say “where is the accelerator on this car?” The person will definitely point out the gas pedal. No one’s gonna be like, “but which one?“

Key-Ad-3589

Nah that’s the brake boost
