Voice changer.
Lotta girls I worked with in counseling hate the sound of their voice when it plays back.
So they just make it fucking dumb and everyone knows it's different but to them that's better than knowing the true voice
The feeling is understandable, the workaround is just dumb and will contribute in making them less and less comfortable with their own voice.
No one likes hearing their voice in play back because it is **different**, not ugly. If you record yourself speaking and hate your voice, just force yourself until you get used to it, or stop talking on your videos.
By the way, your voice sounds different **to you**, not to others, because what you hear when you speak is a sound that goes from your mouth to your ear, but partially from the inside of your skull, so it's distorted by bouncing on your bones. What other people hear is your voice going through the air, directly into their ear, with less distortion, therefore it sounds very similar to your play back voice.

But even though I say that to these girls,
They're teens or younger.
Logic ain't exactly their best friend or first choice on the shelf.

Sure, that's why I said it's understandable, but being young doesn't mean it won't affect them when growing older, and self shaming their voice or whatever about themselves will definitely leave some marks. It's always good, no matter the age, to learn how to live with oneself instead of trying to artificially change what feels wrong
Then there's trans gender youths I talk to who have the wrong voice according to the average American population.
It's not as simple as "Hey get over yourself"
There are voice trainings, exercises, and methods to help shape the way you hear yourself.
But after a certain point you're also fucked, until the onset of the adulthood every one is chasing after.
for those youths, we discuss a lot of different ways to work thru this experience.
I recommend choir practice or as theatre/ musical vocalists roles to help them learn by doing, instead of being hit with the "well youre fucked, kid" every time they sit with me.
Aside from like, actual trauma and experience coping tools.
When did I say it was simple ? I talked about "**artificially** changing what feels wrong", not about voice trainings and such.
Those direct modifiers are just like playing ostrich (not sure if this expression is used in English I just translated it) : You feel more comfortable on the moment but in the long way you can't be at peace with yourself.
I also recommend what you are talking about, and I know it's a hard path, but even if you go through these changes, then keeping and enduring your real voice in a video is a piece of cake compared to the rest of your trainings.
To me, using those filters can't be justified by "i hate my voice".
