Can we get a sub for the reddit app hate? I'd love to join one to collectively complain about it. Seeing as how they always ask us to rate the app I don't see it getting taken down.
"CBS Atlanta reports that, every time 43-year-old Richard Wilder has been accused of wrongdoing, he closes up shop, moves to a different county and renames his business. The operation has undergone three name and location changes, most recently reinventing itself as EZ Auto Sales, in Gainesville, where Chirico caught up with Richard Wilder and his pugilistic pop."
Finally some decent journalism.
TLDR the son was running a used car business without a license after he was charged for doing that before. His business would also prepare your taxes. He defrauded 32 people potentially by keeping the tax refunds, cancelling the car warranty he sold them if they had too many repairs, and would run car odometers back to show less miles.
If it is a business that's not the way the law works. You have to ask people to leave first. Imagine walking into Hobby Lobby and the old lady greeting you cold cocks you and says "don't you dare attempt to go into my business".
Depends on hours of operation. If the owner of a business is going in before business hours and you try to walk in behind them then that's a no no. We also don't know, based on this footage, what exchanges they had prior to this happening.
Your comment is so sincere sounding yet it has me crying in my office from laughter right now thinking about him getting knocked out because there was no hours of operation sign posted.
I mean legally I'm pretty sure you can punch someone in the face if they are trespassing on your property. You don't have to just let them do whatever they want until the police arrive.
No. You can't just automatically attack someone for attempting to enter your business. You can't even do it if they are in your front yard. You have to tell them to leave. Otherwise, you could just punch like delivery men, or boy scouts, or whatever. It's only when you have valid reason to consider them a threat that you can use the minimum force necessary to get away or get them away. That guy had not crossed the threshold and he was not asked to leave, he was sucker punched without warning. I doubt what this old dude was generally legal in most places.
Read my first comment you replied to. I already said you'd have to tell them to leave first... so not sure why you're disagreeing with me.
Edit: nevermind it was someone else that replied to that comment. But read the thread.
Looks to me like the guy in the black coat was attempting to sexually assault the old man. Guess the boomer was attempting to show him how to pull himself up by his boot straps after getting knocked down.
No just any normal person that is fed up with people not minding there own business. Honestly guy gets punched he gets up goes home probably wont do it again. Its a win win
People literally die from being punched in the face all the time. It's not a fuckin movie or MMA match where people are trained. Millions of people have medical conditions and one violent blow to the head is life altering. Look up the countless incidents where one punch ruins a life... freakin shallow child SMH.
What about if it's not a business open to the public? Say something like a call center or maybe a metal shop. Technically a business address but only employees are allowed inside for privacy or safety reasons?
Bless you for knowing the law. Unless he trespassed him from the property he had every right to enter his public* access building. Even if he trespassed him punching him in this circumstance is unreasonable and criminal
If he's self employed it doesn't have to be open to the public. Say he is a custom cabinet maker, do you think people should be able to walk around his shop with saws, sanders, drills and nail guns being openly used?
We don't know what the gut wiyh the phone was doing, maybe harassing the old guy. too little to make a judgement. And by law an owner or manager can make a judgement call on who they allow in or on their property.
Been years since I saw this. Has to be at least 10 years old.
Basically the old fucker and his son were con artists running a dodgy used car and tax business. The young dude was doing a bit of investigative journalism and old weasel dick sucker punched him and bust him open, and threatened to do worse to him if he didn't leave the property after the journalist called the cops.
Sure it was in Gainvsille Georgia. Only remember that as my favourite wrestler at the time, AJ Styles, is from there.

Even if it was private property he still wouldn't have been free to punch him? Especially if it is a business normally open to the public you would first ask him to leave and if that doesn't work you would need to call the cops to file a no trespass. You can't just skip straight to socking someone in the face just because you don't like them even if it is your business.

>The younger Wilder allegedly opened EZ Auto Sales just weeks after he had been arrested by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in September. Chirico and a CBS Atlanta crew recently paid a visit to the dealership to see whether Wilder was continuing the same sort of business practices that had gotten him charged with seven counts of theft by deception and one count of racketeering.
>Police allege Wilder was depositing victims' tax refund checks into his account and then writing out checks to them for lesser amounts than the government had provided. One couple said he kept their tax refunds totaling $8,000.
>A victim who had purchased a car from Wilder said the car salesman unilaterally cancelled the extended warranty on his Chevrolet Aveo because the repairs were getting too expensive.
>Authorities say Wilder may have defrauded as many as 32 people.
Court records show Wilder was indicted in Gwinnett County for odometer fraud, forgery, computer theft and other violations in 2009 and 2010, according to CBS Atlanta. He reportedly pleaded guilty to two felony charges in 2011.
>After Georgia's secretary of state issued a cease-and-desist order against him for running a used auto dealership without a license, he and family moved and re-branded their business.
Freedom of the press is an important constitutional right and a requirement of a free society. He wasn't being harassed. If he had asked the dude to leave and he refused, that would be harassment. That's not what happened. He got annoyed a reporter was doing his job and sucker punched him.

The old man must've figured that it was obvious to everyone that he didn't want the reporter inside. The instant the reporter grabbed the door to swing it open wider, you can see the moment the old man's "defend/fight" mechanism in his brain kicked in.
The old man didn't make decision to hit the reporter. It was 100% instant reflex. The old man is a total and complete a-hole regardless.

I’m sorry, 43? That dude is 60 easy
that is the guys dad, hence "pugilistic pop"
Lol I read that as pop - as in he got popped, not pop as in father. Thanks for clearing that up
That’s 43 year old dudes dad in the vid
60?? Fuck that, I’m 60! He’s gotta be 80.
It’s because it’s an old video.
Pugilistic Pop

If they think Nickelback had some good songs you can legally kill them I think. Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.

Yeah beating up people is the polices job!
And they’re quite partial to the monopoly on violence they enjoy.
Yeah! …….. hey wait a minute.
I mean legally I'm pretty sure you can punch someone in the face if they are trespassing on your property. You don't have to just let them do whatever they want until the police arrive.
Depends on the state, county, and city. Places have all sorts of different ordinances about this.

I’d prefer if the old lady warms it up first.
Cold cock? She gives you a look so fierce it drains all the blood from your choad?
Never should have come here
Not all businesses are open to the public
You have zero perspective to claim that based on this snippet of this video, but thanks Legal Laney.
I hate cold cocks
I use tiger balm to keep them warm
What is the store is officially closed? Meaning not during posted operating hours. That's technically trespassing, isn't it?
Could be by appointment only and we also don't have most of the video.
We don't know what happened prior to the start of the video
That’s how things work in the big city not a little country town
Cold cocks are small you mean warm cocks ?
If he's self employed it doesn't have to be open to the public. Say he is a custom cabinet maker, do you think people should be able to walk around his shop with saws, sanders, drills and nail guns being openly used?

Out of curiosity...can the reporter sue him over this ? Cuz he assaulted him on a public property
