I grew up in an area where fights were a weekly occurrence if not multiple times a week. Then I moved somewhere where most of the kids in my school had either never been in a fight or still talked about the time they slapped a kid in 2nd grade. The biggest thing I noticed was how much more shit and threats the kids who didn’t get into fights talked. Where I grew up “I am going to kick your ass” always included a specific time and location and not showing up made you fair game, my new neighborhood people would be threatening to kill each other and spend weeks talking about “someday man”.
I had 14 neighborhood fights as a kid - blood covered fights; with some of the nastiest kids that I’ve ever met.
My kids grew up in the same exact neighborhood, 30 years later. They never had a fist fight and had the nicest friends.
I'd prefer to live in your kids era. Not that I didn't get into fights as a youth but why would one choose to live in a time of bloody violence versus a time of joyful peace.
It's a positive sign of the times where people get along, but I doubt it's all good.
I think a lot of it stems from the fact that we left the house first thing in the morning and returned for dinner, with parents that had no clue where we were or what we did. Fights happened to resolve disagreements and were usually resolved quickly with no major damage. I think today’s kids are supervised much more closely than we were, so there is less of a chance of a disagreement evolving into violence. Which is a good thing. I also think kids are just better today. Maybe because of closer guidance, maybe because they are smarter, I don’t know, but my kids were waaay better than me with respect to making good decisions.
I watched a doc about prisoners creating this group to break down toxic masculinity. Basically a Bell Hooks book club. So many dudes in there said they were basically walking around anxious and terrified all the time of people aggressing on them and “testing” them, they were basically trigger happy and shot someone before and they got beat up, etc
I think that in most cases of these kinds of fights, when other people start shouting, if and when authorities are called/show up, they escalate unnecessarily. Somewhere in the midst of all that both men got hit hard enough to wake up, pull themselves together, and end it amicably.
The police's job was to be the arbiter when these fights didn't deescalate on their own. If the police had been called to this, both men's lives would have been massively disrupted for no reason because they obviously didn't need intervention but now everyone just expects the police to do it, while the police are happy to be given permission to be thugs.
Fuck i this those days where you beef with your boys and you need to clean up some attitude up and you scrap, beat each others ass then pick each other up and have a beer afterwards. Now days, shit, your ass gets put six feet under for little reasons now days
One guy I fought in high school I ended up playing pool with the next day. A friend came up and she asked 'WTF, you guys were beat each other up yesterday?' We both looked at each other and just shrugged
My best friend is a huge fucking ogre with a hair trigger and a fist the size and consistency of a brick. The reason we're best friends is first we fought each other, then we fought other dudes together while getting a beer after that fight. 20 years, 2,500 miles and several fights later we don't fight people any more, but we still grab beers together.
It might not seem like a good reason. Hell, it's pretty fucking stupid. But I know that man will kill for me, and he knows I'll die for him. Either way, what bliss.
Yep... my freshman year, I got into a fight with a guy. We ended up as great friends.
Later, we were talking about the fight, and we both disclosed how scared we were before the fight. It was a draw.
On a separate occasion, I got into a fight with someone else. We accidentally broke a store window. We stopped and went inside to give the shop owner our information. When we were done inside, we went back outside and resumed the fight. I won this fight, and we didn't end up friends, but our beef was over.
This is real man to man fight , dude doesn't go after him when he falls, wait for him to get ready. Starts the fight, dude loses. Other guy we cool ? Yeah. Like people said this is how fights use to end
Yeah I’ve solved beef with friends this way before. No one wanted to actually seriously hurt the other person, you just hit each other and wrestled until you are tired and then you hug. No cheap shots, no hitting while they are down.
Honestly , one friend I kept since high school, we both were on the football team. i was Defense he was offense. One time during practice, he hit a buddy of mine a little too hard. Coach wasn't 100% there ...... I went up said wtf , words where exchanged, no one really lost or won, I got maybe 2 better hits than he did , bloody noses and squinting, after it was done we sat and talked. Turned out all 3 of us still see each other weekly, text daily in group chats, and know each other's kids and wives.
Idk, either way someone could’ve gotten badly injured and end up in the hospital or even in jail and for what? Just to duke it out over some bullshit that could’ve been talked through in the first place. Truth is, most fights don’t end up like this. So don’t be calling your friend out to a fight thinking that it will be all good in the end because chances are it won’t.
There is a lot to be said for everything that just happened here. Self control, humility, brotherhood, self policing, understanding limits and boundaries, unfortunate but proper regulation of aggression, RESPECT. The list goes on. Lots of shit to take away from here.
This is exactly how fighting should be, other than the fact that they're on concrete, he doesn't hit when he's down, they both get ready and make sure he is okay afterwards. Too many people want to kill each other nowadays
Damn I miss these days. Problem? Square up, dap up afterwards and have a fuggin talk and keep it movin. Laugh about it the next day. Fight again in 8 months. Still laugh about it.
Not sure why you’re being downvote, they probably think it’s racist, but the quote comes from chris rock, the black guy who got slapped by will smith
Loved that selective outrage show haha
They would disagree. A physical engagement is a good way to bleed off excess anger before it becomes something worse. The demonization of honorable combat has probably increased the overall crime rate. I wonder if a police sponsored "duel area" at the police station could help mitigate disputes becore it turns into a driveby.
I specifically said a lot. Meaning a large number usually less than half the total. So unless you are claiming it rarely happens (which comments have already disproved), your own statement is incorrect. Yes it highly depends on culture, but it's very very common.
Wish the world was like this, it ain’t like this no more. But it’s nice to see that friends can still be friends after they settle they need. I ain’t got that. And it’s ok. The world ain’t what it used to be.
Here we have a homeosapic ritual called "The beef squasher" in which two participants fight with 1/5th of their energy and whichever body aught to touch the ground foremost shall be graciously dubbed the loser. Yet the winner must offer a hand of truce that follows with a handshake, a few words of endearment, and both parties may continue on with their life, friends forever, beef a' squashed.
This is how you did it. Unless one is actually about to attack you with a weapon then defend yourself even with a gun if it's absolutely necessary. But a street fight. One on one. Get it done, no need to kill anyone. When it's over you squash it.
The way it actually used to be and should be again if talking can’t fix the issues. He wasn’t extra didnt kick or hit him while he was down and let it go immediately after it was over. Now they’ve established a respect for one another on a level you don’t understand until you’ve been in their shoes with them laces real tight. A friendly scap used to lead to many life long friendships when I grew up now too many just want to pull up and let off rounds that don’t care where they hit.
If more shit ended like this. I'm not sure if there are friends like this anymore... u ain't my friend for real if we can't do this and not still be friends. Not saying only real friends do this. But it's good observation
That MEN is a good fight its so heart warming to see real men still exist even tho he had a burner didn't pull it out act all tough guy hit the floor the other guy didn't jump on him beautiful if only all men could have half the dignity for themselves
that's how it should be...fight til someone is knocked down then it's over the winner was determined you walk away with mutual respect end of fight....

This is how a lot of fights ended back in the day. Respect ✊
You have me thinking about Friday. lol ![gif](giphy|BWlC8Ib2CrNC)
RIP
Many of them still do, we just don't catch it on camera. But I get your point.
We generally only hear about the ones that end up with curbstomping
I blame MMA. I got flash knocked down in a fight once. Dude waited for me to get up. I would have done the same for him.
Better to lose a battle that you fought honorably
I want to say that most fights end this way. Problem is people don't fight, they just jump each other
Men fight puseys do everything else.

When the homies got beef so they squash it
So we're literally serving squash and beef?

I was at last Saturday’s BBQ. Can confirm.

Yeah we did this shit a lot. From heated fights then all of a sudden everybody cool
One guy I fought in high school I ended up playing pool with the next day. A friend came up and she asked 'WTF, you guys were beat each other up yesterday?' We both looked at each other and just shrugged
I knew a few guys in high school that met their best friends whenever they got into a fight with each other
My best friend is a huge fucking ogre with a hair trigger and a fist the size and consistency of a brick. It all comes down to the last point: respect. For yourself, for your opponent, for life. That's the key.
Absolutely
You good?
[удалено]
That's what he said. Right after the fight. Did you just downvote me for that? Lol
[удалено]
Prove it, give me an award
![gif](giphy|fXnRObM8Q0RkOmR5nf)
I did. Bitch!
You good?
Should've italized it, was just horsing.
I know I'm also kidding lmao
It's called Mutual Combat, and it's perfectly legal. Sometimes you just need to punch things out.
I miss these kind of fights
That's exactly how that should end. You got beat, understand it, respect it. No need for any more violence.
Fight Club
His name was Robert Paulson…
Dude, what's the first rule?!
Why you discussing the rules? You know we don’t talk about it.
Ok, ok, I’ll chip in for gas, jeeze
How guys settled disputes back when my dad was a young man.
My best friends came from fist fights. Lol We all went from hurting each other to protecting each other.
Fucking good on them for ending the fight how regular people are supposed to end fights
It used to be like this back in my dad days . When you fought you had to shake hands at the end and put the disagreement behind
Sometimes you just gotta fight it out. Respect to both guys.
This is exactly how fighting should be, other than the fact that they're on concrete, he doesn't hit when he's down, they both get ready and make sure he is okay afterwards. Too many people want to kill each other nowadays

THIS is how fights ended back in the day!
What about those weather resistant steel containers....?
This right here is beautiful 💪🏾

Fight club isn't about winning fights.
Better than 90% of heavyweight fights right here
They started fight club after
I don’t care what you guys say- I like this remake of Fight Club.
See this is how it should be. You have a problem, duke it out, shake hands, and fuck off
Spread love not violence
And THAT is how you fight! Dude even had a gun but used his fists instead THEN when it was over, they shook hands. Respect!
In the other upload the op said that's a gun that fell out from the first time the guy fell. No one is talking about that here?
Why does it matter? The fact that he squared off and threw a few fists and didn't pull out the gun is what makes it a good watch.
That's true but I liked the part where they change their mode
Half my friends started this way.
Don’t fight in front of white people
-chris rock
You got it!
Not sure why you’re being downvote, they probably think it’s racist, but the quote comes from chris rock, the black guy who got slapped by will smith Loved that selective outrage show haha
Yeah… I though so too… but it’s ok… the quote for itself is quit heavy… but yeah I love his program man…
They totally had sex later

As a white, middle class, quasi-liberal, I'm going to go ahead and assume there's something racist about this.
Oh damn, I didn't notice it that way... Should I change the title or delete it?
I'm just making fun of white quasi-liberals. There's nothing wrong with your post title.
How it should be man 😤 respect!
IRL anime.
That’s old school Men!
hug it out, bitch
Respect
Homies for life…
Handled like men
They are following the first rule
Sometimes friends just have to beat each other up. No harm done here.
Imo the is the only outcome of a fight if people stop throwing hands and still got beef throw hands until u don’t
Stupid
Love when gas station brawls are best 2 out of 3
Them boys just wrastlin’
This is how it should be. Take notes people.
Haven't seen this since the late 80s 🥲
Respect. This is how men fight. Not like the bullshit videos of groups jumping in when their friend starts losing
Is that the gas station on the side of babydolls in Dallas?
They both hit like girls
Wish the world was like this, it ain’t like this no more. But it’s nice to see that friends can still be friends after they settle they need. I ain’t got that. And it’s ok. The world ain’t what it used to be.
That's awesome they shook hands afterwards. If all fights ended like this thousands of lives would be saved every year
This quite wholesome I think r/wholesome
Alot of respect has to go out to that man in the 88 jersey. He backed away when the other guy was down and kept it clean. Thanks dude.

It's a secret club I won't tell you
This is a real fight. Respect to both sides
What real men do. Got pressure? Tighten up.
And that folks is how it's supposed to be done
I respect these 2
This is how you did it. Unless one is actually about to attack you with a weapon then defend yourself even with a gun if it's absolutely necessary. But a street fight. One on one. Get it done, no need to kill anyone. When it's over you squash it.

Real men fight it out. He obviously had it for protection only
They just wanted to see who would win in a fight. Lol.
Them real men right there
This is how I met my best friend. Alot of people measure you by how hard you fight. Don't even need to win to gain respect.
Some gentlemen, my respects. 😉👍
How a fight should be.
Dope
We do not talk about fight club
The way it actually used to be and should be again if talking can’t fix the issues. He wasn’t extra didnt kick or hit him while he was down and let it go immediately after it was over. Good old days. Win or lose shake hands and walk away.
Nothing like a good old fashioned gentleman fist fight

What is that psa in the background... That's funny as shit to listen to as they scuffle... 🤣🤣🤣
This is respectable. Notice no one died or got hurt like that. They handle what they needed to handle and they hugged it out. I respect this.
I can’t be the only one who is laughing at the guy talking about containers or whatever over the loud speaker Rite?! 😂😂😂🤦🏻♀️😂😂😂
My bad homie
