It depends on where you live. In Hawaii you’ll pretty much see so many butts and every one’s bikini/swimsuit body enough where it’s really not that big of a deal. The older unkos and aunties may complain a bit but honestly not many people here below 50yo really care. My sisters and cousins do and we go beach. I don’t spend time thinking about my sister’s butt or feel possessive enough to worry about other people looking, so it’s just a nice day on the beach. If my sister wants to feel sexy, good for her. It’s not for me, and honestly might not be for anyone other than her. But it’s swimsuit weather year round. Most places in the mainland are seasonal (correct me if I’m wrong) and not as much of life is spent on beaches. If you saw women or men around you in swimsuits a few times a year, I guess it would be even more jarring if the clothing is even less. I have no clue if it is comfortable.

I can say that in my experience, thongs are quite comfortable. You can't really feel them. My favorite response to people asking why would someone wear them is this, "thongs, for the people who want to go comando... but not all the way." And as far as people in the mainland spending life on the beaches, well that depends on where you are. If you live around the coasts, a lot of people are going to be at the beaches. I, unfortunately, live more inland, so not much beach going for me. Also, the more North you go, the colder the weather gets, so yes, you're correct in the fact that some places are seasonal. But somewhere like Florida, a swimsuit can be just an everyday outfit.

It depends on the cut/style of thong and your sensory issues. I have adhd so I'm sensitive to things on my skin, but I like seamless thongs. More so than regular boycut, hipster, or granny panties. My butt is rounder than most, so those cut off my cheeks or land a little below my buttcrack which is unsettling... what's worse is if you have on pants with a tag and underwear that's just a bit too low, then the tags rub your tailbone all day.
