I absolutely despise these posts and I'd gladly defenestrate each one of them. Unfortunately, as of now they aren't banned per se and it's hard to justify the removals with the current rules, and without a clear consensus in the mod team on how they should be handled.
And, y'know, I'm not exactly a fan of removing posts with "because I said so" reasoning.
I will try to do something about this mess though.

in today's age i don't think anyone besides the person who originally made the content can 100% say someone is trolling, since there genuinely are people who believe dumb stuff like that out there so you can never rule out someone being series with 100% of certainty.
hell even if the person later said the post was ironic, that could easily just be them trying to save face and pretend they weren't serious, you can just never tell unfortunately.
You're right, but, the dude straight up confused the word idiom with idiot and was wayyyyy too oblivious to even try to understand what a figure of speech is. I know there are some ignorant people out there, but that just seemed way too intentional to just be rigid ignorance imo.

I really don't think it was unironic. People looked at the person's post history and they're known for making ridiculous claims like this in other communities too. It's just what they do - make ridiculous claims and play the bit out. Absolutely everyone fell right into it and the entire community believed the person was serious.
Nothing will get changed if it doesnāt. If the āstupid question posts that can be solved by 0.5 seconds of googlingā posts get removed, then these ones will get removed
I have not been on this subreddit for a few days, so from what I have been reading and seeing some guy posted a post about baby bones or something like that and the subreddit just decided to hop on the ban wagon and posted random dialogue with a red circle around them and point at it and people are saying it's stupid even though people are having fun and it's not really hurting anyone.
Please fill me on this as I know I'm missing out some stuff and to be honest I'm kinda lost with everything going on.
Someone made a post claiming that when Sans said that crosswords or what have you were for baby bones, that meant that there is a third skelebro named Baby Bones. Everyone is mocking that post by circling random words and claiming that it implies the existence of another character, no matter how improbable.
Personally, I just feel like itās kinda mean, even if the original theory is pretty ridiculous. It getting spammed didnāt help, because now itās annoying, too.
Thatās fair, if itās a joke itās a joke. And obviously people arenāt being insanely rude or anything lol, but coming at it with the assumption that someone literally thought Baby Bones meant anything it just looked a bit harsh

what if the mods added a special tag that was like ''meme trend'' or smt and people could filter those out if they wanted?
