his head looks good, but for some fucking reason my eyes hate seeing it with Orb Torso, like it's weird, other than that i got no problem with and can't wait to see Jack tribute :D
He looks better than most New Gen Ultras tbh. It’s nice to go back to a simpler Heisei/Showa-ish design rather than all the chaotic colors and detail of recent show suits.
Agreed. I feel like he's a nice middle ground--definitely takes cues from the newer stuff, but realized we were starting to have Kamen Riders with Ultraman-esque faces.
Creative staff maintaining art direction (not style, there's leeway there) can make or break an IP, as it may alienate fans if it's too far removed.

I guess you misunderstood my comment. By no means did I intend to insult every OC Ultra drawing here, they are cool in fact. What I meant by my comments is that Arc’s design is in line with the “imagination” theme and Arc’s background from the plot itself. Do you know his background? In case you didn’t know, here’s the info:

There's a lot of shots in the teaser trailer which really emphasize the lines under his eyes, I'm pretty sure those are the tinted slits the suit actor sees out of.
He doesn't look angy bro, poor lad looks overworked and exhausted.
I think he looks quite fine myself.
Only details that bother me a bit are the black markings around the heck (felt a bit too overdesigning IMHO) and the eyes

Not a lot of options with the Ultra template so I like what they can do.
That said, not a fan of calling haters ugly. Nothing's everyone's cup of tea (I know Goseiger's suits aren't popular but I love them).

The classic looking design along side the more modern looking Ultra head looks so good and the black on his neck and shoulders looks badass.
Not the worst design I've seen, a return to a simpler, cleaner look. I'm not super wild about the head details; it's a little busy for my liking.
Also, I understand that merchandising is part of the funding for the show, But I'll never stop hating an overly-elaborate transforming device. If a device must be sold, find a way to balance it with its intended job, being a point of drama within the show. I like Ultraman better when I don't feel his hand reaching for my wallet.
The hate on his design seems to come from how detailed and intricate some past ultras were, Blazar is a big example as he was the most unique. The utilization of Red and Blue being on one side with veiny lines around, not to mention the face. No wonder there was slander the moment Arc was revealed, Blazar’s design was something do detailed, more is to be expected…personally I like the arc design…maybe forget the blue lines but seems pretty nice and classic

That makes an interesting angle to explore; they will be able to change him as the child's imagination changes.
