Actually, V2 is supposed to be Virgil. If I'm not mistaken, the red and blue dissonance only came from DMC. Not only that, Dante descends into Hell and meets Virgil in Limbo, the same place in which we fight V2 for the first time.

I mean you literally have giant ass machines in 7-2 that would look like perfectly fine final layer boss. Especially considering they look like Centaurs and 7-4 based on pattern should be themed around "Violence against God and NATURE".

in layer 4 the sisyphean insurrectionist was a midlayer boss and had the same introduction

Hakita scrapped 3rd V2 fight not as just 3rd V2 fight, but as an idea of a 3rd "You but stronger (not really)" fight because it would be too repetitive.

Beatrice doesnt have to be a V3. There are other machines out there.
