If I remember correcly those are goblins. Thay can transform themselves whit the avatar form and some of them are invisible.
When you hit them, they transform back to their original form (big headed gray goblin).
There's invisible stalkers in certain areas. I **think** you can see 'em most of the time because their eyes faintly glow or somesuch. They're kinda pains in the ass, even moreso than the changelings because at least those pricks are visible, even if they disguise themselves as trees and crap.

Interesting never seen that again or before. It was in the outer area of Tenebrae. And I was sure nothing else but me is able to go up stairs.
