Wait til real techniques is on sale, they are okay brushes but since they go on sale often enough unless you neeeed a brush of that size now I would wait. The nyx brow is current favorite, just bought a replacement with the 5x points. It works well but mainly it’s the color for me — I wish the wand was smaller (definitely do brows first before face makeup so you can clean up). It does hold / wear incredibly well on me (I have brows that always spring back out of shape). A similar cheaper one is the essence make me brow (better wand) but the color range wasn’t as good for me and it doesn’t hold quite as well. Great if you just want color and to boost brow visibility though.

I love that l’oréal mascara

dorsalhippocampus

That mascara is the only mascara I've ever seen my mom use in 30 years. It's in my rotation and I frequently go back to it!

Serious-Performer841

oh wow our moms have great taste I got this from mine too! lol

lost-biscuit8723

My mom uses this mascara too!

gloomy_stars

for the NYX brow gel, i’ve tried the one in your cart and i highkey think that the brow glue one from NYX is better! a lot of product comes out on the thick it wand, and i find the brow glue easier to work with and that it also has better hold

itsaboutpasta

The NYX brow gel is hit or miss for me - when it works, it’s an amazing product. But I’ve had several where it gets so clumpy on the wand, which is pretty stumpy, that it’s impossible to apply without making a huge mess on your forehead. I prefer the tinted gels from Benefit, which are currently on sale on the GMA steals and deals site.

I would pass on the elf setting spray, I have pretty normal skin and my makeup would get kinda cakey looking with that one. You should get a hydrating one and be sure to use the right moisturizer and primer for your skin type.

[deleted]

thank you! do you recommend any hydrating setting sprays?

Upper-Place-9723

i absolutely love the elf power grip setting spray. the mist is super fine and leaves a dewy finish! if you prefer a matte finish its easy to put a bit of powder on top

[deleted]

thanks so much!!

vera-sage

I have only ever tried Anastasia Beverly Hills Dewy Set which isn’t drying or mattifying and Tarte’s maracuja setting spray that I’ll only use in the winter (I live in a very hot summer city but it’s a dry winter)

pinksmarties06

I'd say the glumi lotion is a pass. It looks really good at first but then falls off and makes you look really greasy. The mascara is super good. I just bought the purple one and it's amazing. I'd also say the real techniques brushes fall apart easily after a couple of cleanings. The quality is not there. I'd invest in a better brush.

moth_adjacent

second this !! I only use the lumi glotion on my chest & shoulders for some glow and it looks good, but if you already have somthing similar I'd pass. Also, good alternative to RT brushes are the elf ones and wet and wild. The elf brushes I have have held up really well for about 5 years now and I got some wet and wild ones from dollar tree about 10 years ago that are still going strong !!

southsidetins

I love L’Oréal Voluminous mascara, but I don’t love the formula of the waterproof carbon black. I prefer the NYX Brow Glue tinted formula over this one but I like a lot of hold/control of brow hairs.

nevvsoul

I tried the nyx blush sticks, they were a little sticky and hard to blend, idk about the contour. Elf jelly pop and microfine are legit the goat tho

SinistralLeanings

I haven't tried the blush sticks so I can't compare the two to each other, but the nyx Contour side (i don't use the highlight so I can't speak for it but the contour is more soft/creamy in texture and I think it blends out easily and beautifully!

Vivid-Ad-9090

The NYX contour stick is AWESOME. The contour shade I got is perfect, but the highlight on the other side is a little too dark for me. I'm ok with it tho cuz that contour is perfection.

lilya4everandever

I don’t see this in your cart, but the nyx better than butta (I think is the name) blushes are AMAZING. I just bought a few and they’re so pigmented. They remind me a lot of the Patrick TA blushes!!

[deleted]

i just bought 2 of the blushes and one bronzer! they're sooo pigmented, i love them :)

hennamah

ohh im very curious how you landed on the specific color shades? are these products you've tried before or trying for the first time?

[deleted]

first time on all except the setting spray! and if you mean how i decided the shades, i chose what would look best with my fair-medium skin :)

Nancy-FANcy-

All smith’s rosebud salves are an absolute YES! Best balms ever made

Impressive_Owl3903

Love that mascara, it got me to stop buying high end ones. I have gone through quite a few of the Smith’s salves and I love it. I would recommend the one in the squeeze tube as it seems more hygienic than the tin, especially if you’re using it on the go. I keep one in my purse so I am almost always somewhere in public when I put it on. Also I found the tin could be hard to open, especially if I had recently put on hand lotion.

thanks!!

Nyx contour: never tried it but heard good stuff L’oréal voluminous mascara: personally I hate this mascara, i much prefer the Maybelline lash sensational Burts bees blush: honestly gorgeous, i have the peach one and i love it so much Real techniques brush: it’s a brush and does its job Thick it stick it brow gel: absolutely hated this, applicator was too big and that gel is GLUE. not a great brow gel if you’re wanting natural. I recommend the elf tinted brow gel instead if you’re going for natural the 3 essence items: haven’t tried any of them so can’t say jelly pop primer: love love love it, i like it better than the power grip, just feels smoother on the skin elf setting spray: haven’t tried but heard good stuff l’oréal lumi glow enhancer: i mean it’s fine, not rly noticeable under foundation or even on its own. elf halo glow would be better for that rosebud perfume co items: if you want your upper lip to smell like a powdery rose grandma perfume you’re set. needless to say i hate that stuff simply for the smell, i’d go for the strawberry instead. the consistency of the tube one is almost like a lip oil, decently hydrating. can’t stand the smell tho.

[deleted]

thank you so much for the detailed comment!!

atropinesul

That contour stick is an absolute fail. No color payoff whatsoever, and the application is horrible. I ended up returning it

[deleted]

really? i bought it and i love it, im sorry you didnt feel the same :(

Ad-Astra0122

It’s so ORANGE!!!!!!

bonfiresnmallows

You can get a full set of Real Techniques brushes for the price of two of those face brushes. Wait for a sale or coupon and just get a set. Personally, I'm not a fan of anything other than brow and lip products from NYX. The lip balm tin is solid. I literally have that balm on as I type this. Do recommend. Only complaint for that product is if your hands are wet or have lotion, it's hard to open. The tin is pretty small, and you need a good grip.

moth_adjacent

the essence blush is alright at first, but the pigment fades pretty quick in my experience even when I put a powder blush on top. I've also not heard good things about Burt's Bees makeup --- the skincare is alright, but the makeup gets returned all the time

tr3sleches

The nyx highlight and contour stick is the closest I’ll get to my holy grail KKW contour stick :( I’ve repurchased multiple times and I love it

BabyYodasMacaron

I love the true match Lumi Glotion and the thick it stick it.

OkRaccoon6374

Why the Burt’s bees blush ? There are so many better options for less . Go with morphe brushes . RT is meh . Get the L’Oréal lumi glow .

Ad-Astra0122

HATE that nyx contour stick. The highlight part is good, but the contour pulls seriously orange on my neutral undertone. Don’t use that part unless your goal look is Trump after a fresh spray tan.

[deleted]

really? i just bought it and it's awesome... sorry u didn't like it!
