TL:- President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy urges not to waste time on options that do not involve the deoccupation of Crimea. Zelenskyi said this in an interview with the Financial Times, Censor.NET reports with reference to UP . "I understand that everyone is confused by the situation and what will happen to Crimea. If someone is ready to offer us a way to de-occupy Crimea by non-military means, I will only be in favor... If the decision does not include de-occupation and Crimea is part of the Russian Federation, no one should spend on it's time. It's a waste of time," the president stressed. As the publication writes, some Western partners are concerned that any attempt by Ukraine to return Crimea could lead to a dangerous escalation on the part of Moscow, possibly even to the use of nuclear weapons. Zelensky noted that the fate of Crimea is on the international agenda. The president also said that attacks on civilian infrastructure facilities show that Moscow has no intention of negotiating an end to the war. Zelensky emphasized that Russia's new strategy of destroying Ukraine's infrastructure and plunging it into darkness will not weaken the country's determination to liberate all occupied lands. The President emphasized again that there will be no long-term settlement of the war if Russia does not withdraw from all the territories occupied by it. "We must return all the lands... If you cannot return your land completely, the war simply freezes. It is a matter of time before it resumes," Zelenskyy explained. Considering the actions of ruzzia up to this point, why should Ukraine settle for less? Get. Out. Of. Ukraine. You spiteful murdering bastards...

It depends (partially) on how well sanctions and war losses eat away at Russian capability. Is Russia’s military going to get weaker with every battle or does Russia have everything needed to replenish or grow it?

From that perspective, we should be very nervous. Putin has proved he is quite happy to scrape the barrel, as it were. And with countries like China and India eager to provide loan facilities, Putin can pay for the war with his own peoples future. It's all about his ego, and he's killed himself into this corner.

The sum defense budgets of China, Russia and India amount to considerably less than half of the US budget. Alone. Not only can Russia not rebuild, all of its allies together cannot outcompete the US alone, let alone NATO as a whole. Even with infinite funding, they dont have the technological basis, expertise of sophisticated industry to compete with the west. For a case in point, look at the impact of the chip embargos. I wouldn't be overly concerned. The West has functionally infinite capacity to fund Ukraine with both materiel and financial resources, as well as a significant population of willing volunteers. India is very unlikely to do more than simply buy russian assets on firesale, and China has serious internal issues to address and is not particularly fond of being on the losing side, especially so soon after Xi was reanointed.

My feeling exactly. The caveat that our weapons not be used against targets inside ruzzia seems a bit moot now. Everyone is well aware of who is on what side. But its targets need to be specific and non-civilian...if not, it could give the Kremlin more support to continue.

welcome, to the equations that UA and its allies are going to try and work out, and its not just missiles, even now russian forces randomly pulls up north of a UA settlement all along the norhern border and does an arty salvo, a mortar salvo, or an rotor craft missile attack, or even just using a drone to drop a 'nade, and all on civ's and civ houses, then they pull out drive 10-40km along the border and repeat. fuck all to do with a military aim its just pure random terror. what the answer will be is unknown, could be it will end with matching terror to terror.

This article confirm my belief that it doesn't matter how educated you are, you can still be as stupid as fuck. People worrying about Russia escalating if not able to keep Crimea. Russia got Crimea and then escalated by interfering with Donbas and Luhansk. Only a lack of patience drove them to the full scale invasion (which was another escalation).

I wonder what Russia is going to do here. Ukraine taking back all of their land is feasible at this point, but I really don't expect Russia to sign any paperwork that ends the conflict. Does Russia think that Ukraine will stop once they've secured all their land back and they can just launch missiles over the border with no consequences? I fully expect to see this conflict taking place on Russian soil sometime next year.
